I have been using Nectar 2 Production suite for about 3 days now. I am blown away by the tools, features, flexibility and absolute ease of use. I can't see myself using any other plugin for vocals ever again. I edited some vocals last night for a band I have been working with and sent them to the singer (soloed vocal tracks only). He said "I can't believe thats me". He loves the way his vocals are sounding. Cheers for making an amazing product (original Nectar is great too) even better.
I recently upgraded from nectar elements to nectar 2 suite and I must say I LOVE this plugin. I wish it has something like a phase invert button though. sometimes i like to do weird phased out effects.
@1:10 That was freaking awesome! :O
Hide & Seek style
have had it 2 years and never realised u could do it; absolute gem of a plug
Yes, you can even use it for vocal doubles (Unison mode). Just center it and add a little pitch shift, or add two unison tracks, spread them left and right, pitch one up slightly and the other down, all inside the Harmony module.
Wow! This sounds like amazing vst! :)
I'm howling in my seat right now. That's awesome!
This was exactly what I needed. Thank you.
This plug in is better as an effect rather than a practical harmonizer/tuner. Melodyne sounds ridiculously better
Wtf dude I just bought this...you're saying i should have bought melodyne?
@@Ewang2727 hahaha if you bought melodyne by now I will tell you wich one you better can buy
I was interested in the MIDI Control for Harmony, but that function doesn't seem to work with Logic Pro X. That's unfortunate because I would've bought it if it worked.
ZACCY MIDI Control does indeed work in Logic Pro X! Contact our support team if you need any help getting up and running: www.izotope.com/support/contact/index.php
I cant setting my midi controller with nectar could you help me?
I'm having a really hard time getting in the MIDI controlled "Harmony" setting to sound "natural." It's cool, but it really does sound like a "vocoder." It's got a lot of weird formant artifacts and strange sounding robotic issues... is this common? I've known that this is an issue with computer-generated harmonies for some time now, but even with delay and pitch variations, it just sounds... super "synth-y."
I have to give this a try tonight!
great info video
so u can basically make multiple backing vocals off of one track or vocal if u will
Gran tema hermano!!
How do you do this with nectar 3how do you set up with midi keyboard ? How do you set this up in logic x thanks
mine has no side chain option..
Question. can I just play the Harmony and mute the main vocal part?
+Alex Castellanos Yes, you can mute the actual vocal recording, while the vocal harmony plays :)
I know I'm late for this thread, but: how do you actually do this? I haven't find a way of muting the main vocal!
There is a blue button that says "Solo Voices"
Izotope's Nectar Production Suite can be had for only a little more than Antares Harmony EVO engine alone- I have used both, and this product wins, hand down.....
Can we use this software for direct live performance with vocal input from microphone? Thank you.
you can but you need a very good soundcard because it has latency
this is amazing
I can't seem to make the MIDI keyboard work to make harmonies, on Logic Pro X. How do I set it up? Any advise please.
Can't do the midi control on Logic FOREVER.
so can you also put this on a vst instrument?
Ashin Kusher what do you think
You can jack it to anything mate
If i were a ghost, i am poooozzzeeetttiivvee
What's the track used in this demo?
is there a way to double my vocals with Nectar?
Pooch Luelz In the Nectar 2 Harmony module, you can set the Voices to 'Unison'. Add a little pitch variation, and you have a great voice doubling effect!
What were those chords that you used at 1:10?
What the song on the background?
Please add the new plugins to amazon!
Can I use this plugin on reaper?????
Hey, is there a way to sequence/ write midi notes into Izotope nectar, for example, in the same way I would write/click midi notes using a "midi controller" vst plugin (instead of using a physical keyboard controller as you did in this video). My hope is that I could sequence the harmonies in.. I think producers have used the same effect for artists like chris Brown, just haven't figured out how to acheive it yet..
+YOHAN HENRY MUSiQ The Nectar 2 Harmony Module should accept any type of MIDI note input, be that from a MIDI keyboard controller, or from sequenced notes from a MIDI track. Contact our support team if you need any help getting up and running: www.izotope.com/support/contact/index.php
+iZotope, Inc. Hey, thanks alot for your response :) I use FL-Studio 11 as my DAW, could you help me with routing midi to Nectar from my Midi controller Vst plugin?
I tried it out for my first time last night for example setting my controller to midi Port 5 & Nectar's port to midi Port 5, but no response (notes aren't harmonized)..
I also tried going thru Nectar's midi parameter controllers like "Harmony On/off" "Pitch on/off" to see if I could find one that would allow for that, but nothing seemed to work.. I'd love if I could get this in FLStudio!
Hey there! Contact our support team and they will be able to help you getting up and running: www.izotope.com/support/contact/index.php
+iZotope, Inc. Ok, thanks alot. I posted my question on that page, & just got a response in my email :)
+YOHAN HENRY MUSiQ Did you already solve the problem? because I have the exact same problem with the midi controller... I hope you have a solution for it.
Kind regards,
Giovanny
Nice software, but I would think as the software development company, you could've produced a much longer and richer demonstration and explained a few things going on that you didn't.
that pitch editor is so damn hard to use what the hell? why isnt there a video on how to get started using that thing I`ve always used auto-tune to correct vocals but my new os on my mac doesn't support it so now im stuck using this over complicated thing,

I've used several software and hardware harmonizers, and they all seem to be over-engineered and difficult to use. One exception was Digitech's Vocalist 5. Another complaint I have is the absolutely useless presets that clog the menu. (More apparent on the hardware-based harmonizers.) All kinds of gimicky voices like sheep, robots, and other crap that no musician uses. I paid $1,000 for one hardware box and over half of the presets were of this type.
Like who would actually say if I were a ghost I am positive...
Are we even speaking English?
It might make more sense if they played the last half of the sentence.
how a bout adding harmonics on vocals?
eq the vocal before distortion
Wow this will be the best money I have ever spent
Upgrading today..!
amazing
cashmere cat and Francis the lights uses that !
What can't this harmonizer come as its own plugin. Zzz I got Pitcher from imageline and it can't do more than 4 harmonies even when programming them in midi. Sucks to be poor sometimes.
What's with the lyric writing in every tutorial ever...
It's like they spend all their time trying to make the lyrics not make sense
These vocal effects are pretty much in line with Antares Harmony Engine and Waves Ultrapitch... the trick to all these vocal processors is to make a piece of high quality software with a MUCH smaller footprint than what they have now....as it stands, they're all cpu hogs.
In reality, none of these harmony generators sound that great...if you get any software to sound as good as the website tutorial then you're doing pretty good...but even the Waves Ultrapitch tutorial doesn't sound that great.
Having said that, I use all the harmony software engines in a VERY subtle way as to simply beef up the main vocals...there are many different semitones in a vocal and putting a VERY SUBTLE semitone (or two) that already exists in the singers vocals is a nice way to thicken and beef up the vocals.
About the only way these harmony engines can be used in an exposed manner is when you're actually wanting a robotic sounding vocal to accompany the main vocals.
My suggestion (since I never actually answered your question) is to find the harmony on a keyboard or guitar, sing it as close as possible and use a pitch correction software like V-vocal or Melodyne that converts to midi so you can have lots more control over the correction.
For the most part, it sounds like Post Malone uses synth harmonies during the versus and probably synth coupled with real vocals in the chorus...I'm specifically speaking of Go Flex...if you give me a specific song I can give you a more detailed answer.
i was the 1000 like, how sad........love this module
if i was a ghost i am positive
*were
whats the name of the song???
"Ghost" by Startank. It says it at the end of the video.
Why the fuck is UA-cam taking me BACK in time!?
I can't believe that you monetize your videos!!! What's the point?
Money is the point, what else lol
i want it
hi, I hope you see this and be able to answer my question. I just installed nectar 2 and applying harmony's to one of three vox tracks. what i'm hearing is that weird distorted noise one gets from overusing vox pitch correction. do you know how I can stop that? I've watched the clips from isotope and I can't get my vox to sound anything like that.
Don't know if you still need this after 5 months, but try to go into options->EQ/Harmony and set range of harmony to low/mid/high according to your voice timbre.
That sounds so un natural it's not funny.
Sounds like hammered crap
Billy Blaze put it in a mix sounds great
Okk
Sounds like her voice is accompanied by a synth.. there is nothing that much real harmony in the market.
ok I just bought Waves Platina for 199 and not 1999 just saying
1:11 They could have grabbed a nice MIDI controller and make the player have nicer fingers
too bad you can only sing about being a ghost.
Can’t listen to her...sorry.
yeh
if i was a ghost i'd test positive
too processed and sounds more like a robot instead of real good singing
It's not the right harmony..out of key
Kills the joy of doing it one by one but okay.
What a dreary vocal......
If I was a goat...
i am positive...you are
Yeah I wish this pseudo emotional vocal fry way of singing, would hurry up and be consigned to the music history bin. The software is great but the singer is indicitive of how music vocals, have lost their way in the last 15 years or so.
Jesus thank you, I am not the only one!
I want to choke every chick singer that does this crap.
They do it because they know someone will use a program like this to make it sound radio ready. These new singers have no natural vibrato, or harmony to their voice which begs as to why they're a singer. 4/10 musically +10/10 body=they'll make you a star.
if i was a goat i will eat grass
