HAHA that is hilarious, because I think my Workmate is from right around 1980 as well! It is a good tool, sturdy and well made. Black and Decker still sells them (see here: amzn.to/3tAcSSI), but you can see that it is truly a case of 'they don't make 'em like they used to' the new ones look cheap and flimsy. Thanks for the comment!
@Budget Bronco LOL, nope, they're not the same anymore. Got mine in Chasn, SC, while in the Navy, and it's seen a lot of projects over the yrs. The frame has some rust, and the top should be replaced, but it's still kickin'. :)
I'm in your camp as well. I'd rather have the pride of building a part than buying it. It was painful though watching you try to cut the mounting bracket with a sawsall but I thought, maybe he doesn't have a grinder. But then I saw the grinder. I'm sure you know by now that you can get a cutting wheel for your grinder, the perfect solution to the sawmill instability. I may have to move my Lasfit ditch lights to the bumper!
HA...not sure why chose those tools, maybe bc my sawzall was already set up with a metal blade and my grinder was already set up with a grinding disc?? Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching
Whew just finished binge watching all your content. This is awesome channel for anyone who is somewhat handy and can save a lot of money in labor cost. The wrap episode might be a little challenging and maybe the forescan might make some a little nervous. But buying a the base Bronco and doing all the mods that you’re doing still comes under the price of upper trim levels.
Glad you enjoy it! The Base model is really a good deal. That is my thinking as well, spend a lot less on MSRP and then very selectively spend on the specific upgrades that you really want, rather than buying a higher trim that comes with stuff you don't really care about but you are still paying for. Pretty much anything you can add as an aftermarket addition. One exception: I HIGHLY recommend all Base purchasers spend the $200 for the AUX switches. Those will cost a lot more to add later, and is also very difficult to do.
Love the explanations of the thought process of your upgrades, and showing what specifically you got and why. No fluff is great too, definitely inspiring for future base upgrades when I can get my hands on one.
Agree with the other comments, wish I had a bronco and could do the stuff you’re doing. Looks like a lot of fun. Maybe someday. Great channel, keep up the good work!
if you had connected 4 of the same lights, 2 at the side view and 2 on the bumper, would the green wire support both or would you use the 30 amp wire with all lights tied to the same over head switch?
That is a good question. It definitely depends on the amp draw of the lights that you are installing. These lights are about 3 amps each, so four together would be 12 amps, so technically that would be OK for the wire I used since it has a 15 amp fuse. But that said, since there are six switches available, I would probably split them up just to be safe.
Nice mod. Glad to see I'm not the only one that uses a Black & Decker Workmate portable bench. Been toting mine around for yrs since about 1980.

Great Video, gives me the confidence to do this mod and the speaker mod too!
You can do it! Thanks for watching
