    Doing well on the SAT comes down to the best use of resources. I’m glad to see Desmos being a tool for the test. Lots of students don’t have the money for really good calculators so they are out of the game before they even start.

      Agreed! I actually wish physical calculators were banned that way everyone was on the same playing field just using Desmos ... but I see why they did things the way they did. Thanks for stopping by!

      @@Joey-dj4cd Scientific calculators can simplify radicals, work with pi, solve the quadratic formula, and do unit circle trig (all things Desmos struggles with). I cover this in this playlist:
      ua-cam.com/play/PLf3ypEs9KobjrZWijjbTPLq_c1GQeRNGa.html
      CAS calculators like the TI-Nspire can do even more things for you - like factor, get exact solutions to equations, etc. I don't recommend using one unless you learned to in school because they have a lot of menus and can take some time to master. Scientific calculator is far easier in my opinion.

    0:59 If it's typed in as it is in the question, it shows the answers as vertical lines. On this one, they're integers. But what if the solutions aren't integers? Desmos doesn't display the number if it's x/(x+6) = x. If it's x/(x+7)=x it would not be possible to tell exactly what the number is unless Desmos would display it.
    Is there a way to get Desmos to display the values of those vertical lines x = value?

    • @Tutorllini
      @Tutorllini  9 місяців тому

      No there isn't - that's why this video goes over an alternate method. Did you watch the video?
      I know this is confusing - but people asked this a lot so I made a follow up video which I am guessing you have not watched yet:
      ua-cam.com/video/LOoY9iU1uZU/v-deo.html
      TLDR: Certain types of equations give Desmos a headache. When that happens you MUST break it up into a system like:
      y = LeftHandSide
      y = RightHandSide
      I hope this helps!

      haha. bro can you tell me how to convert any equation into n factored form on desmos. for example: f(x)=x3+2x2
      -5x-6)@@Tutorllini

    • @Tutorllini
      @Tutorllini  Рік тому +3

      @@farazanjum9606 You can't do that in Desmos. You would have to bring a CAS calculator (like the TI-NSPIRE). I recommend learning to do it by hand. Check out this video:
