Thank you so much!!
I just got my math score from 490 to 570, I still have so much to review, but way to go!!
Awesome job Marcela! I hope you find my other videos helpful. Keep me updated on your progress :)

Doing well on the SAT comes down to the best use of resources. I’m glad to see Desmos being a tool for the test. Lots of students don’t have the money for really good calculators so they are out of the game before they even start.
Agreed! I actually wish physical calculators were banned that way everyone was on the same playing field just using Desmos ... but I see why they did things the way they did. Thanks for stopping by!
why would I use physical calculators if I have desmos ? I dont understand
@@Joey-dj4cdgraphic calculators might be easier to use depending on the person
@@Joey-dj4cd Scientific calculators can simplify radicals, work with pi, solve the quadratic formula, and do unit circle trig (all things Desmos struggles with). I cover this in this playlist:
ua-cam.com/play/PLf3ypEs9KobjrZWijjbTPLq_c1GQeRNGa.html
CAS calculators like the TI-Nspire can do even more things for you - like factor, get exact solutions to equations, etc. I don't recommend using one unless you learned to in school because they have a lot of menus and can take some time to master. Scientific calculator is far easier in my opinion.
Thank you for sharing these great tips! I specialize in SAT Reading/Writing and have all my international students watch your videos for homework. Your straightforward Desmos videos helped one student raise his math score by around 100 points!
Hi Anna! That's amazing! Thank you! I am always looking for SAT Reading/Writing specialists to connect with - message me on Facebook if you would like to chat.
I've just surfed through all of the videos of your channel, it 's quite helpful! thanks

Thank you on providing resources and examples on how computer graphing utilities can be used to assist in solving problems. By treating a complex equation like a system of equations to look for the intersection, students can how creativity and technology can be used together in math and how problems can be seen as puzzles #fduedtech

Genuinely i think im half human brain half ape brain i never thought about setting y to the other side on a seperate line on this app (and ive used it for 4 years and know it can do a lot)
There are always workarounds, but the great thing about breaking it into a system of equations is you gain a much clearer picture of what is going on via the graphs.
Another great video!
Keep up the good work
Will do! Thanks for watching.
Are there any math problems that you know right off the bat you can't use DESMOS for? That must be done by hand? Thanks
BRO THANKS A LOT! I OWE U A LOT
thanx bro🙏
You're very welcome!
0:59 If it's typed in as it is in the question, it shows the answers as vertical lines. On this one, they're integers. But what if the solutions aren't integers? Desmos doesn't display the number if it's x/(x+6) = x. If it's x/(x+7)=x it would not be possible to tell exactly what the number is unless Desmos would display it.
Is there a way to get Desmos to display the values of those vertical lines x = value?
No there isn't - that's why this video goes over an alternate method. Did you watch the video?
I know this is confusing - but people asked this a lot so I made a follow up video which I am guessing you have not watched yet:
ua-cam.com/video/LOoY9iU1uZU/v-deo.html
TLDR: Certain types of equations give Desmos a headache. When that happens you MUST break it up into a system like:
y = LeftHandSide
y = RightHandSide
I hope this helps!
THANK YOU OH MY GOSH
Thank you very much sir 🫡

Thankyou so much, u provided so much help!!

@@Tutorllini genuinely changed the game to be honest, respect ur efforts
Wow, that felt so much easier to do than doing it manually. Can the whole math section be solved with desmos? Please, if you could reply, then it would be greatly appreciated!
Hi there! Unfortunately no, you still need to know lots of concepts, equations, and question types. But Desmos is a big help once you learn it!
@Tutorllini Oh, I see. Currently, I plan on binge watching all your sat videos, and hopefully, that helps me prepare for sat in March. Khan Academy is just too long, and I don't think I'll be able to cover all concepts in just a month and a half to prepare. Any suggestions?
@@ShakelalaCookieShake What country are you? Are you limited to free resources? I may have some ideas, but if you can tell me those two things I can guide you better. Also happy to chat if you attend a livestream.
@Tutorllini I'm from the US, and I'm not sure. I only ever used Khan Academy, I searched others, but some require to be paid or, in general, weren't good
@@ShakelalaCookieShake Happy to chat more on stream - days of week/times in ET that are good for you? We just got a ton of new US viewers this month and I can't decide on a day/time. I have found this platform really good for my students. It is $30 per month per section. Even if you just got the R&W that would be $60 for two months. Use this link and it supports me:

In one question where i found two points and plotted them in table then i got two points in graph then i created line but it is difficult to extend from the same line as i have to find y intercept pls reply me
Hey! It seems like you actually want to watch this video on Regression:
ua-cam.com/video/yAYGDGOO5bA/v-deo.html
Hope this helps!
amazing man
Thanks for watching!
Well, what is the problem with the point (4,0) of last questions? We have three points there. But you just counted two points and then took the positive value of X since the question asked for that. But We can also take 4 as the positive value of X. If you reply it'll be great. Thanks for your classes.
When you solve a system on a graph - you are looking for points where both graphs touch. A point of intersection in this case will have RED and BLUE both. (4,0) only has red (not a point of intersection). You're welcome!

How do you write the square symbol so firstly in demos? is there any shortcut key?
SHIFT 6 => 2
What if u just input the whole equation with all values on one side? And equate that to zero? Are there any chances of mistakes?
Hi Osiwe! I go over this in Lesson #15:
ua-cam.com/video/LOoY9iU1uZU/v-deo.html
The reason you want to know both ways is sometimes the method you describe does not work. Hope this helps!
@Tutorllini oh thank you. I've understood from watching the vid. Just thought I could save time that way
Hey my one question which was simple got wrong when used desmos it become quite complicated.
Are there linear tests on bluebook app?

can we do the first equation without desmos witohout calculator
Of course!

Hi quick question couldn’t you have just plugged in 55/x+6=x in Desmos to get the same answer instead of having to make each side equal to y? Please let me know because I’m so confused

Hi there! I tried to practice on my school computer as I will be taking the dsat on it, and it wouldn’t let me click and see the coordinates of any point on the line. ( I used the calc on the dsat bluebook)
Not sure! It works in my Bluebook App Desmos!
Thank you. Holy shit.
Is using Desmos graphing calculator allowed on the Actual SAT test? Please respond to this!
Yes! Desmos is allowed on all Digital SAT Math questions.
Nah I had to like this
I just typed it in without even doing y = and I got two lines with the negative and positive solutions it is much faster that way because you don't have to look around to find the actual intersection. Is that okay to do?
That definitely works! I actually already made a video about that here:
ua-cam.com/video/LOoY9iU1uZU/v-deo.html
The reason I made 2 videos is because the method you described does not always work. Also, having the actual graph vs vertical lines lends conceptual understanding to what is happening. I hope this helps!
Can we do all sat math with just desmos calculator?
Nope
is it possible to go from 600 to 800 with desmos?
Yes if you use desmos your time consumption for per question is less and your accuracy will be high moreover you have a lot time to review and focus on other question
Is desmos allowed in dsat test?

Hello, I was just wondering could we use desmos when we are doing the actual exam on test day?
Yes! You can use Desmos on all Digital SAT Math questions.
I wanted to ask that are the questions you are solving sample or real bluebook DSAT questions?
Almost all of them are real Bluebook questions.
