Veterinarians Warn to Keep Pets Away From Wildfire Smoke

- The noxious cloud of smoke hovering over huge areas of America is on the move. In New York City, the air quality index reached 484 which is considered hazardous. Pennsylvania city officials are recommending everyone stay inside and seal windows as Philadelphia hit 270 on the air quality index. Doctors are also reporting an influx of patients with eye irritation and blurry vision. Inside Edition's Steven Fabian has more.
Growing trees can somewhat help clean the air. NYC could have left those empty lots alone and grown trees and gardens. But the buildings that were built don’t have enough shade trees surrounding them so it doesn’t help air quality at all.

We went through that here in San Francisco back in 2020...the whole city was orange!! It was insane, when I woke up and saw the sky I thought I was in the wizard of OZ or that I was in Mars

Not true! There has always been wild fire season in western parts of Canada - particularly in the interior parts of BC!
Improper burns will do that. Canada sucks in many ways, this is just another one.

I live in Charlottesville Virginia and thank goodness we only got the small end of the smoke. It was quite Smokey but not as bad as what I am seeing in this video. I hope Canada can solve this massive fire.

I do agree with the veterinarians trying to keep pets away from the smoke. But what happens if they need to go out and they know they can go outside to use the restroom?. What would you do about that?.
Go outside with your pet as hope they go to the bathroom asap. The only solution is just reducing the exposure but severely limiting their outside time to bathroom breaks only. It will completely suck for the very active breeds of dogs, I can imagine they will be going stir crazy in the house

we're too stupid to listen. My friend was streaming him walking around during that peak of 484 even though we kept telling him to get back indoors. He had a mask thankfully, but the amount of people we saw without masks and some were walking their dogs... he lives in far rockaway, he could not even see manhattans skyline lmao. the sky was the same color as the sand
