The clean male vocalist Nils Molin also got his own band Dynazty. Power metal band with a lot of bangers. I can recommend Advent as a good start for you 😀🇸🇪
I actually discovered Amaranthe via Nils. After I started listening to a lot of Skillet, the algos must have though 'Metal' + 'Christian theme' or something like that and surfaced New Horizon's 'King of Kings' ua-cam.com/video/YFFeYL5nbI4/v-deo.html I was completely blown away by Nils vocal performance, and went searching for what band he was from (as New Horizon is a project). My gosh, Amaranthe has to have a couple of the best vocalists in the world in one band. :)
I was introduced to the name of Amaranthe in 2021, when The Dark Side Of The Moon was founded, second band/ side project of drummer Morten Løwe Sørensen. TDSOTM is a symphonic metal supergroup, consisting of (besides Morten) vocalist Melissa Bonny (main band Ad Infinitum, at that point Morten's girlfriend, now wife), guitarist Hans Platz (from the humorous German medieval metal group Feuerschwanz (Fire Tail [slang translation Fire Dick]) and harpist Jenny Diehl (usually one of Feuerschwanz's dancers/ stage & video performers, she was guest musician with her harp on a few of their songs). The band is literally the result of a bet that Melissa iniciated and ultimately lost against Hans after she did guest vocals on a song for Feuerschwanz (titled "Ding" [Thing]). The first time I actually listened to Amaranthe was when TankTheTech reacted to "PVP", which was the official anthem for the Swedish E-Sports team at the 2021 World Champoinship. It was ok, I liked it but then I found "Fearless" and now Amaranthe is the metal band with the most albums on my shelf (well, head to head with Feuerschwanz). Most of the time they feature all three vocalists but depending on the needs of the song, sometimes only two or even just one of them.
Yea, Amaranthe does do fun, energetic music, they do have a few (power) ballads too, like "True", "Strong", and "Burn with me". "Amaranthine" is a bit of both, but for more upbeat tracks check "Digital World", "The Nexus", and "Drop dead cynical" ... then there's "Boom!1", "Archangel", "GG6" and "365". 😎🤘 Have fun.
Yeah, while a lot of their songs have a similar, fast-paced, almost chaotic feel to them like this one, I really love their ballads. IMO, Amaranthine might be the top power-ballad ever, and really shows of Elize's vocal abilities. (And, sorry to Nils, but Jake E made that song with the male clean vocals... the Nils performances just don't quite do it for that song... that said, I love Nils vocals in general.) What I missed, until I got in deeper, is how fun they are. Tracks like 'Boom!1' and 'Damnation Flame' I thought were probably darker songs (which generally aren't my thing), but after some comments I checked them out, and LOL. But, whether you like their songs or not, they are insanely talented. I've heard their live performances are almost better than album. There is a really great live version of 'Amaranthine' (Manchester Academy) that kind of gives me a taste.
Thanks for reacting to my favorite band. As good they are with the studio recordings, you need to see them live, they are truely amazing and energetic. Unfortunately for you they just toured Australia a few months ago. The songwriting is done by Elize, the female singer and the guitarist Olof. You should checkout their latest album, The Catalyst, which features a lot of amazing songs. From the older songs I would recommend: Archangel, Drop Dead Cynical, Amaranthine, Digital World, Crystalline and Dreams,…

Just a quick note:
Jenny Diehl is a full time member of The Dark Side Of The Moon.
@@andreasfahrney Yes of course, was there any doubt?

Yeah I really dig it. The raw talent is definitely there!!

Amaranthe has a great catalogue of music, a few slower ballad too, not my cup of tea but still good 🤘😎
