It blows my mind that these boxes of this era are still at their pandemic prices. I bought my last one off Ebay in March of 2019 for 96 dollars, total of 105.25 with shipping. I also bought a 1984 Fleer wax box that month for 116.00, total of 131 with shipping. Unless you pull a PSA 10 of a few select cards, you have zero chance of getting anywhere near 450 back from this box.
Awesome throwback! Love those classic Fleer cards!
I saved up money from helping neighbors and chores to buy my first card from this set. Eric Davis.
I'll always love this set. 1985 Fleer was the first pack of baseball cards I ever opened. I got an Ozzie Smith card (my favorite player at the time), and I immediately started collecting for many years.
My first set I ever collected! Still love these! ❤❤❤
That is a great looking Ricky Henderson card
Thx for doing this
it looked like the Puckett card had another card stuck to it, if you look closely at the bottom front of the card it looks like another card is behind it but when jabs turns it over it has the Puckett back.
The only reason I looked at the chat was to see if someone else saw that also. Definitely looked like another card was stuck. Jabs turned it over to show the back - 2 Kirbys?
Looked again and might just be a black line. I think he would have noticed the thickness.
It’s just a black line on the card. He pointed that out
How about 1993 Hustler trading cards series two for a future throw back Thursday?
I had some of those lol
They went really lax on their cutting calibration that day. Some really rough centering.
The Nolan Ryan card looks like a campaign photo for running for President 😅😅😅
Kuntz Followed by Bush best pack out there
Got lucky on a couple. The Ripken in stack two looked pretty well.centered, and even though it wasn't perfect, the Puckett in stack 4 looked like maybe 55/45 top to bottom. Could get a 9 maybe. The Clemens was awful with centering.
Good box, and love getting definitive proof that a box wasn't searched. No way you get the Clemens and Puckett if it was searched. Even if it was searched in 85, that Gooden was one of the three hottest cards in the hobby back then.
One note, unless I missed it, you did miss out on one good card, the second year Mattingly.
I noticed the same thing. No second year Don Mattingly...my favorite player growing up in the 80s.
I love the throwback baseball boxes. Thank you.
Why were cards upside down in some packs 2:23 and not in others?
Stickers are a WAY better insert than gum. It’s not even close
No way. The gum is the magic in opening wax packs. Topps should bring it back.
@@golfmaniac007what do you do with it? Chew it for a couple minutes and then spit it in the trash? You can keep the sticker forever
That Kirby Puckett was two of them stuck together! You can see another card sticking out from the front and when you turn it over it’s a Puckett!
It’s just a line on the card. He pointed that out
Less Eric Davis PSA 10'S. More collectors sent in Kirby cards. That's why price difference
Love that Kirby Puckett roger Clemons Dwight gooden and Eric Davis Orel hersheiser and Brett saberhagen rookies
Clemens rc were hard to pull in fleer and donruss for me anyway
The past is alive and well. 🎉
David and Mike Bell
I opened a lot of this product when it came out. Opening a Fleer box, every box had 540/660 cards. I can honestly say i never got even 1 double in all the boxes i ever opened. Cards were positioned in the pack in the same order as they were in a factory set. You were only getting at best, 1 of each card. You had a 82% chance of getting that 1 card you wanted. Great video, brings back a lot of memories.
Fun box - thanks Jabs
Too bad on the Eric Davis
.not much you can do with the wax stain on a matte finish. Don't get the Puckett being priced so much lower than Davis. Nice story on Jon getting the ball today..that your Dad was with you was truly special. My Dad passed in 1975 and I still miss him. He actually got me started collecting. He was the meat manager at a grocery store and the owner was going to toss the baseball cards in September but gave them to Dad to take home to me.
That’s a pretty cool story! I wonder if you pulled any Brett or Younts from those 75s
@@JabsFamily oh ot was much earlier..first cards were 1961 Topps and can not remember which ones
I bought a ton of 1962s with my own money.. also built a set of all but two 1962 Post/Jello....and I can still hear Mom...."you're going to eat that cereal"...loll.
Do the stickers have any value? Just curious
Always seemed the top guys were way off centered. I submitted a Clemens that looked just like that centering and it got a 7. :(
Hey Jabs, how can I send you a mystery box for the Monday opening?
I'm an '85 baby.
Pucket would have never made the hall of fame if his personal behavior had been made public. Awful misogyny. Sad that sports heroes don’t always end up being good humans. 😢
I used to live in Minneapolis…went on a couple dates with a woman who somehow knew some Twins ex-wives. I have to agree with what you’re saying based on what she relayed from her time hanging with the exes. I don’t think he was the only one. Sad story.
Don't talk ill of the dead
@@cardyard608 clearly, a lot of people let their demons play out, on their spouses and children. It’s just sad and surprising when you looked up to them, or they are marketed as heroes. I’m sure Kirby learned his behavior from someone HE looked up to. 😥
Paul Molitor was being abducted by aliens during that photo😂
GUNNER HENDERSON ROOKIE 33 CARD LOT 🔥🔥 EBAY AUCTION ENDS 5 24 24 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Your card is worth more than these junk wax cards! Don’t say you will never be them! Your cards are worth more!
