First five minutes and I learned some unknown facts! Nice! '86 Is looking good. The border? Love the overall look. The packaging, the photos, border so-so, back of the cards is real good.😃
You hit the nail on the head comparing Mattingly to Trout. Although Trout is nearly HoF worthy already, and sadly Mattingly didn't come close to getting in. He had quite a stretch for half a decade though!
Jabs is the best! You are making me get back into baseball card collecting. I haven't bought anything yet but I dug out my collection and looked through my good cards. Lots of great memories with my late 80's early 90's junk wax.
good shit man !!! Im loving this channel !!! Baseball cards left my life about 26 years ago and I never looked back. Then I find your channel and you bring me all these good memories. I have a love for toys and now Im about to start a new collection. Thanks for the new rabbit hole. Baseball cards!!!
all star inserts only in wax pack ..... future hall of famer inserts only in rack packs. i thought the all star card set is one of the sweetest looking sets.
If only that was 1986 fleer basketball 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 it’s crazy too, because back in 1986-1992 or so the 86 baseball was in much higher demand, it’s mind blowing really
I started collecting at 7 yrs old in 86. The 86 fleer was very hard to find in my area. So I only opened a few of those then. Topps and donruss was everywhere thou
One of my all time favorite sets. Was hard to come by in my area. Was after Golden and Clemens all the time then. The Canseco card I’ve never seen. Thanks for sharing!!
A nice box break of what I feel is an underrated set. I didn't get any of these cards in 1986 as I thought they were scarce to find in my area in Upper Michigan. I could only find Topps at the time. I later found out Holiday gas stations and Pamida stores stocked them along with Donruss. I was in Junior High that year. The present day I've been slowly accumulating this set by hand.
even in the 80s 90s ryan played like 4 days a week. i remember he did a triple header against the orioles and pitched my cousins beer league later that night. now a days they'll let any fan who eats the most hot dogs pitch an inning.
I really like that you know baseball. To many of these box breaks, the guy doing the break knows nothing about baseball (or the sport), can't pronounce the names correct.. Your doing well.. It's a good watch
Everyone seems to forget the Kirk Gibson 84 World Series Game 5 home run that pretty much won the series at home for Detroit off Goose Gossage in Detroit. Goose wanted to pitch to Gibby but the Padres Manager wanted to walk him. Goose's plan backfired in his face and Detroit went on to win the Series at home.
I had a geometry teacher who had a back room that was filled with sports cards. If a student ever argued with him or disputed something about what he was teaching he'd say "want to bet?" If you could prove him wrong he'd give you a card but if you were wrong you'd owe him one. He'd say things wrong on purpose hoping that kids would challenge him. If you brought him a common card he'd complain about it for the entire hour. His son was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks NHL team and had one card made before he blew out his knee and ended his career. Bringing his son's card in was another way to guarantee he'd rant for an hour about all the time and money put into his son's hockey just to see it go up in smoke.
I remember my first game ever at Jacob's Field was game 1 of the ALCS. I believe Plunk gave up a 3 run extra innings homerun to lose the game. Ever since that game I always called him Ker-Plunk.
I recieved a 1990 bowman box just yesterday in the mail. I am new to baseball card collecting and have just begun organizing my cards and am not sure if I should open the factory sealed box or not. It came so perfectly packaged I am scared to open. I want to open it and see what is inside, what do you think? Should I rip into it?
Along with the annoying blue border, the photos just seem to lack sharpness on these Fleer. Also, centering suffers IMO, but it's still cool to see your box break.
Im going through 2 big totes of junk wax mostly 1987-1997 can anyone help with what cards to look out for such as frank thomas no name and billy ripken F face? As well as which rookies like griffey and jeter? I know some but afraid im going to miss something! I didnt even know about the no name or f face until recently and before i make sure those arent in there it would be nice to know of any others. Randy johnson marlboro, other rookies, errors, etc even if you can add 1 to my list to bolo would be very appreciated!
In 1997, Topps had 5 cards of Devil Rays players (2 players on each card; I think they were all draft picks from 1997), but the first full size team set was in 1998 Topps. The other card companies also had cards of them in 1998.
Not a big fan of that set like you mention there very easy to damage even tho wouldnt mind owning that caseco rookie. Those breaks sold quickly btw... nice video.
This was a great set...I remember saving all my cash and buying a box the day they came out!

82-87 Fleer just had a magic feel to them ❤️❤️❤️ Thx for sharing.
Jabs is the best! You are making me get back into baseball card collecting. I haven't bought anything yet but I dug out my collection and looked through my good cards. Lots of great memories with my late 80's early 90's junk wax.
The Paul O'Neill rookie is pretty cool too.
Your commentary is great! Fun video!
I had this set back in the day, actually liked this year.
1986 was a good year, especially for my fav Player of all time, Barry Bonds, rookie year. Luv Man, RC, Willie, etc...
Nice break. Glad you pulled Cansenco card. Thanks for doing this for us.
Takes me back, I opened lots of this back in the day.

I’m starting to collect again, not because of this channel necessarily but a bunch of these old 80’s card videos got me wanting to collect again
Good rip! So much info
Great box break and great cards Jabs your are best for real no one knows the players like you do for real this is Eddie talking from jersey.
The Cal Ripken All-Star insert from this set went for $350 the last time it sold on EBay!
Nice box break! Sweet to get the Canseco rookie card. Thanks for sharing!
all star inserts only in wax pack ..... future hall of famer inserts only in rack packs. i thought the all star card set is one of the sweetest looking sets.
2 games in one day - Cubs during the day and Sox at night...that was killer!
He was a Met and got a hit vs. the Cubs, and was traded to the Expos and got a hit vs. the Phillies.
1986 Fleer is great. Love the video, keep up the good work Jabs Family.

I love throw back Thursday it is awesome how about opening 1979 topps
I really liked 86 Fleer. Fun break.
Yes , throw back my fave.
That Dale Murphy box card is sweet

This is a nice looking set. I also never got alot of these cards, just a few years before my collecting days.

Classic design 👌
Andy Van Slyke is from Utica NY which is a Short Drive from where I grew up.Probably 40 minutes Max.

Anytime I get to see a Tony Gwynn it's a win for me, and darren with the canseco/plunk at the end, great video.
I'll never forget when Sid slid
86 Fleer had great looking cards.
All the '86 cards have dark boarders. Topps had the black stripe on top and donruss and fleer did the navy blue thing.
Erik you were correct. I should have known your memory was correct
i love the 86 fleer!
Great looking set. Need to pick up the Bonds in Traded.
I remember having that Gwynn card with really sharp corners.
Great channel

I remember julio Franco had the strangest way of holding on to his bat. Fingers would hang off the end.
That baseball card hat (from the wrapper offer) would be great to top off the baseball card uniform idea for the game you may hold.

What's his son's name?
I like this set
saw the pic and thought you were breaking an 86 fleer basketball box at first
I think schiraldi was on the mound during Buckner miss
I remember my first game ever at Jacob's Field was game 1 of the ALCS. I believe Plunk gave up a 3 run extra innings homerun to lose the game. Ever since that game I always called him Ker-Plunk.
If anyone wants a baseball card mystery box please reply here
Love a good mystery lol
deamian65 ya I’m selling them on eBay
Man Eric Plunk looks majorly stoned on that rookie card
Good stuff

Those cards aren't worth a lot, so you might as well open them and enjoy them instead of just having a sealed box sitting there doing nothing.
Okay awesome. Thanks for the reply 😁😁
Sweet TBT. Plunkett flunked it in the MLB. Even tho his name is Plunk, I like calling him Plunkett
Love 86 fleer,
Love that Jose canseco rookie cArd
1978 Topps is the box you should do soon. How do I buy in to your box openings?
Sid Bream was the man with the Braves
Where do you buy your cards?
I have a Canseco/Plunk from this set.
Along with the annoying blue border, the photos just seem to lack sharpness on these Fleer. Also, centering suffers IMO, but it's still cool to see your box break.
Love Sid Bream
Future Hall of Fame inserts were only in rack packs.
Fun fact Mattingley and Boggs hated each other while they played with the Yankees
When i see the Expos cards i feel nostalgic and wish for the return of Montreal in the MLB
Would you ever do a break on some basketball or football sets???
You should do a 1994 topps for throw back Thursday
Hello my friend
Imagine Joe Charbonaeu got into the hall of fams
Noooooo 13:40 😂
Oh no Watham.....
Real quick, real quick. '86 Fleer is nice but '91 was a bit of stumble.
You should buy a box of 2011 topps update I hear there is a good rookie card in that set lol!
cutty 4688 he already did!
nice vid.
Dont forget Eric Plunkett
Hope he does 86 donruss
Sid Bream... lol
That isn't a print line on the Canseco, it's the foul pole
@25:18 it is clearly a black print line (going left to right) across his face as well as Plunk's...
@@JordanRCcom well I sit corrected
Shave those sideburns Mattingly!

Just received the packs of cards you sent to me from being a patreon of yours. Thanks great video btw!!
Back when Fleer was actually a decent card.
Jabs!
What was the first year of Tampa Bay Devil Ray cards issued.."...1998 or 1999 ? I would like to put together the initial set. Thanks, Randy Ray fan

It’s Friday
Anyone else get the browser can't view this error?
Bob Long is my neighbor
Unfortunately Ron Darling was just diagnosed with thyroid cancer
I know what he's going through. My prayers are with him
I'll buy it off of you
Yankees won 4 out of five and 3 in a row ‘96, ‘98 ‘99 ‘00
Let's go mets!
You’re gonna drive the price of a John Watham card through the roof if you keep pulling his cards LMBO
Back in the late 80’s these packs were going for $2 a pop. 87 was about $1.50. Even 87 Donruss was way more expensive than it is today.
Can’t be five firsts sorry. Eighth.
