Great recipe! I double it and worked on making tiny stars/hearts for garlands over a few hours - stayed hyrdated under a towel and dried in the oven. Pro tip: roll your dough on parchment paper for easy cleanup and to prevent sticking better than the countertop :) thank you!! Merry Christmas!
This is a great idea! I've seen people do this leaving it plain but painting them should work fine. I would suggest using a spray paint with several light coats to prevent having a high water content. Let us know how it goes!!
Yes, you can. But they are very porous and the paint will really soak into them and could make them mushy. It may be a good idea to spray them with a polyurethane first, let it dry and then paint them. That may seal them a bit before painting. Let me know how it goes because I haven't tried painting them yet!

Glad you had such a fun time with the recipe- thanks for the feedback and for the "stellar" suggestion!!! The parchment paper is a great idea.
Going to try this for my baby’s hand print. Wondering if anyone tried this, and has anyone tried panting them?
