Gotta love the sound of the SD40-2's whine. In a very rare move, the 8104 was on Canadian National into Toronto last week. The Central of Georgia was on Canadian Pacific last year up this way. I got the message a couple of hours too late to catch it. Great video, as always AC.
AC, I dig your videos and your passion for these heritage units. #8025 Monongahela Railway Heritage Unit went by the house today here in Concord, NC heading north to the Spencer yard in Linwood, NC. Have a great day!
The line from binghamton ny to Albany ny is called the D&H susquehanna division. Most likely because it follows the susquehanna River most of the way to Albany
18:31 While the heritage unit was leading, another rare catch for me in its consist was the Dash 9 44CW #9961 trailing second. This is one of Norfolk Southern's newest and finest Dash 9 wide cabs. It was originally delivered in primer paint, which is called 'The Grey Ghost Era On NS'. This was done in T-155.

17:22 In another episode, I caught an AMAZING 🤩 coat of colour combination of Class 1s from 3 different points on the continent. This Technicolor Trio came up from the south into Allentown where it was transferred to today's 37T. So WHY aren’t earth when I shoot the dark side of a train...THIS COLOURFUL, instead of the normally sought after sunny side? HERE'S WHY! Need I say more? :) The good news was that I would get my revenge later that day, and it’s done in case of really good timing this time around, I was moving through town when I heard over the radio that today's train 14R was just down the hill. :D
As always nice video. There's just one thing I didn't quite understand what you were saying when the Canadian Pacific, Kansas City Southern and Union Pacific went by, you said there's a reason why you didn't take the picture on the Sunny Side of the tracks. I didn't quite understand what you meant or I didn't see what you were saying, so what was it? As always AC, nice video.
Cool video. Suppose I want to send a boxcar from Taylor to Oakley Yard ( Indiana and Ohio) in Cincinnati. How would you route it? Also, love the New York Central heritage unit. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, AC. Hope you are staying warm this winter.
Thanks Jim.. Yeah, it's pretty cold outside.. By way of NS, it would go north to Bingo and prob back south to Enola on 11Z.. West to Conway on 35A and then southwest from Conway to Chattanooga on 171 which works Shronville, Ohio (your neighborhood).
@@Trains21 At Queensgate they would probably interchange with the Ohio& Indiana. IDK about the Sharonville yard... but maybe. I was curious if it could be done. Then the I&O could send it to Madeira, but it would be just a drive through, since the spurs were removed about 10-20 years ago. I guess CSX did that after they took over the B&O.

In the beginning radio traffic, was that Hagerstown? The voice sounds familiar and she always says ‘checkbox (number)” on the radio what does that mean?
It’s for a track authority form. Check box 2 means to check box two which gives your train permission to operate in whatever direction the dispatcher tells you to operate in.
_Conrail_ ok. Can you show me an example? I always hear this: “checkbox 3 work between Powell and Bristow on the main 1 between 1:30 in the pm that’s one-three-zero in the pm to 2:30 in the pm that’s two-three-zero in the pm over” then whichever train she’s talking to reports it back.
From the the start time to end time, they can always get the time extended, or if the dispatcher needs the track back, they go into a siding and cancel up.
Thanks Robert.. Yeah, who would've guessed that after spending 2 or 3 days putting a video together that when I'm finishing up at 3 or 4 in the morning trying to keep my promise to my viewers, that I might have a hiccup every now and again.
