Sometimes things do not go as planned, and this astrophotography session got interrupted by clouds early on. But there is always something to learn, even when your astrophotography session ends in a cloud fest.
This is probably the most adventurous astrophoto channel on UA-cam! Follow me out to wonderful remote dark locations near the Arctic Circle in Swedish Lapland.
The polar winter is harsh and extremely cold, but the dark skies are among the best globally, and nature is spectacular. But most of all, this is my home, where I do this wonderful hobby!
If you like my videos, please subscribe and join me out in the harsh polar night!
Even your worst session is a sight for sore eyes. Especially on such a Grey and sober sunday like this.
Thank you for your content
Thank you for watching. Not the best session ever, but that's the life! 😀
Yes same here in England, not looking good to the new year either, but when you have a gap in the clouds it is lovely to be out. Wishing you a happy Christmas and New year, and clear sky's.
Merry Christmas! Tonight it looks pretty good so I hope I could avoid clouds. Quite cold however, around -20-25°.. Happy New year!
Even if the session was wasted I like that you "Always look at the bright side of life", and that you make a video about it too.
Thank you! Yeah, I'm happy that I have this channel because then the evening not really feels like wast!
I had the same thing happen to me last night. Hopefully you'll have some clear skies soon David. Congratulations on 1K subs. Well deserved!
Thank you! Tonight it seems better! :)
Yeah, December is always like this.
Yeah, December is a little bit of lottery! Hope it will change soon!
The reality of astrophotography. All these other videos constantly churning out fabulous image after image do seem to paint a rather lopsided view of this hobby - sometimes we need reminding that these famous UA-camrs don't have it all easy even if the content seems to suggest they do. Mind you I'm looking forward to your next video, and I expect it wil include an awesome image ;)
Yes, that's one part of astrophotography! Tonight it looks quite good so we will see if there will come some image.. 😀
"Now it really looks like shit" - that cracked me up but I feel your pain regarding so many cloudy nights. Congrats on 1K subs. Despite the lack of astro, it was still nice to see your adventures in the icy north with a bit of a bonus northern lights at the end.
Great videos
Realy like your honest style
Ty
Thank you very much, nice that you like what I do!!
There are definitely nights when the clouds do not cooperate! At least it was warm out. I would rather be shut down by clouds than some strange problem with my laptop or asi air pro that I can’t figure out (although that is rare). Hope you get some clear skies soon! Take care David. Thank you! Yes, that's the life.. it's part of the hobby! But tonight it looks quite good actually, so I'm about to set out!
Clouds have been really annoying lately, clears up, and they come back 10 minutes later, then clears up again for 2 minutes and it goes on like that so you can't get a consistent time to shoot
The worst is when you belive it should be clear. It's such an anticlimax!
Sorry, I was mounting a new scope today. Probably jinxed you with clouds. Hope tomorrow night's perfect.
Cheers
Haha argh, it was your fault!!? 😅
I feel your pain with the clouds David! I’ve had clouds here in the Uk for three weeks now, so frustrating! I agree about just getting out for an hour (anytime is better than nothing)! Congratulations on hitting over 1000 subs👍 I’ve just put my first ‘short’ vid on YT, only got 17 subs😀 Check out Simon’s Astro! (Horsehead & Flame nebula) I plan to do a lot more next year! I wish you a happy Christmas, New Year and of course, Clear Skies!!
Thank you Simon! Clouds could be so frustrating! 1000 subs is great! Could not imagine when I started! :) I watched your short, great image! Shorts is also a little bit of gambling, sometimes they "fly", sometimes not. :)
