Excellent! I've got a 1/48 Mk XIV LFD conversion waiting in the wings, won't touch it until you show us how it's done. Can't wait for the next instalment 😊.

Looking forward to see you build this one Jamie, much like your other builds!
I used to hate the Griffon Spitfires, nowadays....I appreciate them just as much as the rest! Old age and wisdom kicking in?? 🤨🤔😉😆😂

In all honesty Jamie, the longer video the better, I don't mind the extra waffling! 😉🤜🏻🤛🏻🍻

Hi Jamie, absolutely stunning, really is and love the show. Excuse my ignorance, I don’t know loads about the Spit, but just wondered why the Xii , was it their first Griffin engine and clipped wings.
I’ve just bought the Eduard 1:48 Mk XVI and I too have fallen for the clipped ring look.
    Thanks
    Jase 🇬🇧

Anyone else wince when Jamie casually tossed each resin part over his shoulder?!

It’s going to be a stunning project. I shudder to think the total investment but knowing you the end result will justify the cost.

Thanks mate. Luckily the review set was a review sample and the LFD cockpit set was an extra free set as it had a flaw (buggered if I could find it though...)!

LFD has made a great product. I have the same project going on and the quality of their print is superb.

Wow. That’s a great aftermarket stash for the Spitfire. The 1ManArmy stencils are just too good. I have used them in 1/24 Spitfire Mk9 build.

Wow Jamie! So much aftermarket goodies! 😱🤯 This will be epic, I seriously can't wait! Can I pay to see them all now? 😉🤣 Only kidding! You've really got my attention with these conversions, I'm so looking forward to them all. Cheers mate, thanks for posting. Hope you're starting the JP soon! 😉
    Take care 👍 👊

In for a penny, in for a pound. All reasonable upgrades. Anyz fittings and spark plug connectors were a must have on my 1/24 Spitfires.
    I started with RedFox for two 1/32, F-15 builds. For a 1/32 Trumpeter, A-6A , three 1/32
Tamiya F-16CJs and a 1/32 Tamiya, AM6-2b, Quinta Studios (not a Russian company) had a
better set for what I wanted. They offer resin rivets as well. Did not care for their 1/24 Mk.IXc instrument panel the Airscale version is the best. Yahu brand makes some excellent IPs.
I may have mentioned this before. The 1 Man Army mask set price was offset by building two Airfix Spitfires at the same time. Masks worked for both and I can use them on a future build. Contacted Sven from 1MA and suggested adding the mask for a Wing Leader pennant that is missing for JE J to help make his 1/24 set more desirable as it is, for now
a copy of the kit decals that lacks the pennant.

Hi Jamie, Canopy open... doesn't that spoil the lines!! And how does it feel to keep the aftermarket industry going single-handedly. Love it, keep it up.

Not on a 1:32 Spitfire so much I reckon. It feels justified at the end! Cheers mate.

I know it’s rude but could I be cheeky and ask how much for all that after market.
I KNOW it will be worth it!!
On the subject of 1ManArmy - I got the 1/48 Spitfire Mk.1 Generic Stencil Set - which provides masks for just the stencils ( you can also get Roundels & Letter sets too but I have my silhouette for those!!) which provide enough masks for 2 kits.

Jamie I’m in the market for a 1/32 Spit but I can’t decide on a Kotare or Tamiya. I would like to do Baders mkV but I like engine detail in big scale so its a tough decision? Can I turn the mk9 into a Mk Va?

    • @thescalemodellingcafe
      @thescalemodellingcafe  19 днів тому +1

The Tamiya conversion would be extremely difficult mate, notwithstanding the engine is a totally fifferent mark. Much better to go for the Kotare version, there is an aftermarket engine available but the name escapes me.
