yup actually maxamps has this package that includes the 5000 mah, a really good charger, and a good balancer all for like 60 dollars less than the price of what all those things would cost separetely. after i get the 5000 mah ill probably go to 8000 if i need to.
you should get a 5000+ lipo batt there a little price but they'll get you at the 70+ mark......i have a rustler thats about 3yrs old and im thinking about goin with the new vxl...kinda expensive though
ya I wasn't going full speed...i was only going about 1/4 speed. Also, my friend (cameraman) said 45, but its more like 35 mph full throttle on road. Thanks for the comment!
I just found something better than the Lipo. I was just looking around on maxamps, and I reliezed that the 5000 mah, a charger, and a balancer would come out to be about 310 dollars. I probably wouldn't change the gearing on my truck, so with that lipo I would probably hit around 50 mph. They also sell this 7 cell 4400 mah 8.4v pack that will make the car go probably around 40 or 45 mph. thats just a little slower than the lipo, but for only 60 dollars or so.
what d'ya mean? the VXL-3s is freakin awesome the driver is more at fault then the speed control--ive only had the thing for a week and I just took it off training mode
right now I'm just using a decent 6 cell 3000 mah pack. It's a Team Orion Rocket Pack Plus. Nothing to special about it. I'm also running stock gearing. Soon I think Im going to order a seven cell pack (8.4v) which will give a little more power.
are you getting the rustler xl-5 or the rustler vxl? the vxl is brushless, the xl-5 isnt. i got my vxl from tower hobbies for 320, shipping was like 8 dollars, and make sure you get the free 20$ discount from the home page if you spend more than 149$. my battery and charger were combined total of about 60 dollars. if you need anymore advice feel free to ask.
i think that the 5000mah only get about 10-15 minutes run time, but thats if you goin full throttle the whole time......i would stick with the 5000mah there to much money just to change your mind on something you already bought and get a bigger one instead.
thanks a lot for the tip, its a lot easier to control the car now!
ya im already saving up for the maxamps 5000 mah 11.1v lipo. its gonna rock. the vxl is awesome..it was a little expensive...but definetely worth it.

yea that one is round $150 for the 5000mah...the 8000mah is like $230, but you get longer run time.
