- We return to Linwood, Kansas, and spot a target underwater in the lake in search of Randy Leach (Missing Person Case)... His parents Harold and Alberta have been searching for answers for 32-years after a pre-graduation party in 1988.
Over the course of 2 days on this visit, we search seven more locations in hopes of finding Randy, even returning to previous locations on speculation we may have missed something.
We spot something underwater in the lake and the heart races as expectations are high in hopes of finding Randy.

Sex: Male
Race: White
Date of Birth: 07/25/1970 (50)
Age: 17 years old
Height and Weight: 6'3, 220 pounds
Clothing/Jewelry Description: A blue pocket t-shirt, blue Levi's jeans, white low-cut sneakers and white socks.
Distinguishing Characteristics: Caucasian male. Brown hair, blue eyes. Randy has a mole on his left ear.
On April 16, 1988, Harold and Alberta Leach of Linwood, Kansas reported the disappearance of their son, Randy Wayne Leach, to the Leavenworth County Sheriff's Department.
Subsequent investigation determined that Leach was last seen in the early morning hours of April 16, 1988, at a high school pre-graduation party given by a classmate in rural Leavenworth County, Kansas.
Leach had driven to the party in his mother's gray 1985 Dodge 600 4-door sedan.
During the course of the investigation, no one was located who saw Leach or his vehicle leave the party.
To date, neither Leach nor his vehicle has been located.
The investigation to date has produced sufficient information to believe that Leach has been the victim of foul play in this missing person case.
The deeper we got into this investigation, the stranger it became.
Was Randy part of a sacrifice?
Was he taken out for witnessing a drug shipment gone wrong?
Did he end up in the trunk of his mother's car and driven across state lines to be disposed of in a car shredder?
Is there a police cover-up in this small rural community?
While we feel there are people who know what happened to Randy, there also is a reason they have not come forward.
Even though Harold and Alberta would like to find out who is responsible for Randy's disappearance, the only thing they want more is to find Randy.

I wouldn't necessarily avoid Gardener Lake. Where you pulled up looks like spot that car could go in, especially if the area was not "in season" for fishing. But it's not my search but its something I wouldn't overlook......

Gardner lake needs to be searched. Never trust/assume that someone has the equipment or the knowledge on the lake.
I hate to say fishermen are not worried about a vehicle they are worried about the next big fish. I feel that like needs searched. And if i was fishing honestly think i seen a car in the bottom of a like i would probably not think twice and just keep fishing
My thoughts exactly. I know these guys do a great job and I don’t mean to criticize but when I’m on the water for recreation, I’m not worried about finding a car. If I see one I’m more likely to think it’s a junked vehicle, no big deal and keep on with my day.
Thats exactly how I feel too! Never rule things out unless seen with your own eyes. How many times did they re-search areas that other dive teams did and found what they were looking for that so many others missed.
Exactly! It has never occurred to me to look for anything other than fish. An untrained eye also would see what Jared and Sam would see.

I used to live in Leavenworth and remember when Randy went missing. I didn't know him, but we were the same age and ever since then I've somewhat kept up with his story, in hopes of hearing something that would give his folks some closure. Back in the late '90s, someone posted an image taken from Google Earth of what was thought to be "a gray or silver car" in the woods, near the house where the party was. It may have even been the same property. I don't recall which message board it was on though...
So very sorry to hear about Mr. Leach passing away. Prayers for Mrs. Leach and to the crew for helping this dear family find some long-awaited answers.

I think you should go back and scan the big lake with all the houses around it. Although alot of boats and stuff on water, most people only see whats in front of their faces or you dont or cant see what youre not looking for. Do it for Randy and his famiy. Just saying....

Its so heartbreaking to see the hurt on Harold's face that his son has not yet been found. RIP Harold because I believe you finally found your son. Adventures with Purpose you all have a big heart. I could not do what you all do. I pray that God be with you all on all your searches and lead you in the right directions.
I lost my daughter and only child 26 years ago due to a brain tumor. But at least I know where she is &what happened. I cannot imagine if she had disappeared & I never knew what happened to her! Losing a child is a parents worse nightmare! But never knowing, I just can’t imagine!

Probably impossible but we all know some one knows some thing . Police maybe should have done more in the intervening years .

Did I hear correctly that Gardner Lake was NOT checked because the population density? At the north end of the lake there is a boat ramp that was there back in '85 looks like. From Google Earth it looks somewhat secluded. People living there wouldn't necessarily see anything. Because to them someone at the boat ramp is an everyday event. And at night no telling how dark it is or WAS back then. Could be worth a look. If not for Randy's case, maybe someone else. Just a thought. RIP Harold, I'm sure he has his answers now. My heart felt condolences to Alberta and family.

I think they said it wasn't checked because of all the boats that fish on that lake that would have fish finders. They felt those people would have come across a car already if one had been in the lake. I was surprised, though, that they didn't check it out for themselves anyway considering the remains that could have been human being found there.
@@Sami_Sue I don't think that is a valid argument though. Look how many cars they have removed that police knew were there and never bothered with. Add that most fishermen fish structure, especially bass guys. Some go as far as to put artificial structure in lakes to make the fishing better. I think they need to abandon that hypotheses of fishermen reporting cars, and the police actually removing them, especially if the car is old.
Seeing Harold again I was worried it would break my heart. But I feel peace that he is with Randy now. For Alberta, my heart still hurts for her. Praying she does get closure. That's all we want is for her to have closure.

I have watched thousands of true crime/missing persons cases throughout the years but this is the one I want solved the most. I read one commenter saying she fell in love with a Harold and Alberta. I too an under their magic spell. I planned on leaving this comment before I saw the end where Harold's death was announced but now I feel even more attached to Alberta. I hope the theory that people are reunited after death is true. I hope Harold and Randy are together now. If you read this Alberta, I love you and hope with all my heart and soul that Randy is found soon. You have a million people hoping the same. Thank you AWP. I am familiar with the Gardner area since about 1974, my graduation year and I was working at a place in Armourdale called Dot Manufacturing who was planning to move out here and there was hardly anything out here. I did not make the move out here but helped them move out here. And I can bet back then there was hardly any homes out here. Plus the people who live out here probably do not even think twice about a car at the bottom of a lake or for that matter do not care. I think you should patrol this lake. There's alot of unsolved mysteries out here anyway, it couldn't hurt. Anyway....I hope the best for Randy and his mother, since the father passed away.

Alberta and Harold had each other to lean on for years, but now that harold is with Randy, does she have any brothers or sisters that could be there for her now.

I believe the lady that orchestrated the party to begin with knows something & knew it the night he was overdosed. They all got scared & took Randy somewhere & hid his body !🥵These guys will find Randy sooner or later, very persistent to do so for Randy’s Mom. You was so close to my neck of the woods. I remember when this kid disappeared and hearing his name on tv. I lived in Kansas then. Now I am in Missouri about and hour away or so.

Just because people have fish finders, it doesn’t mean they know they’re looking at a vehicle. There is all kinds of junk under water that resembles a car and turns out to be just old wads of cable or something.
I have a weird feeling that you need to check Gardner Lake even though people fishing have been on the lake they don’t look for cars they look for fish.

A car would be easily found on those radar is what they meant. And there are so many varieties of them in varying clarity. Highly populated Lake unlike the bodies of water in and surrounding his location of disappearance

I believe someone who was at the party and knew what had happened to Randy including those who were responsible for his disappearance if any are following this case online.
I think that the owner of the house where the party was held and got burn down after Randy had gone knows something and that he might have seen who have taken him.
A financial reward will have the best chance of finding the subject. This retired P.I. of 40 years suggests contacting the school and get a high school reunion list, names, addresses and phone numbers. Send out letters and followup in person and by telephone. I would speak with parents as well. Someone might steer you in the right direction. You might find missing classmates incarcerated. I would contact them. I would make a list of school bullies and hard drug users at the time. Did the subject ever complain of being bullied? They should also be contacted. I have a feeling this was not an accident. Did the subject start dating anyone just prior to disappearing?
An excellent plan.
Yes, he had been dating a fairly new girlfriend according to first hand statements. Bullied though....Randy was 6'4"? 6'3"? and 240 lbs or close to it, so probably not bullied, but drugged, probably. The graduating class only had about 30 students, i think they also said that was the last graduating class of Linwood highschool, the school merged witn neighboring town the next year.
@@sherrythomas3028 I would focus on the subject's new girlfriend. Was she questioned? Who else was she dating and establish a timeline of prior dates. Was she pregnant at the time or shortly after? A backgroud investigation should be done on her and her close friends. Her parents and ex neighbors if still alive should be questioned. A bully that packs a weapon cares little about height and weight especially if under the influence of alcohol and drugs. I would focus on a jealousy angle as well. Face to face interviews are best to note fear and little eye contact. Wrongdoers and accomplices are easy to break if carrying years of guilt. A guilty person or parties may be reading these messages. Cash is King now and a excellant motivator.

Gardner lake is an old WPA lake. I lived out there. Neighbors watch neighbors. I know a place cars tend to go off a curve at Gardner lake.
25 years ago the lake didn’t have much water in between drought and more people using it as a water source for Gardner. Anyway from my past experiences Gardner people did not party in the Linwood and desoto area. I don’t know if this helps?

I stumbled upon you when I was watching a magnet fishing video, and I heard you explaining how you look for loved ones in cars or just their vehicles and that instantly made me search for you on UA-cam and I’ve watched all of your videos from the beginning up until your last one posted, I just have to say it’s truly amazing what you and your team does to help these families who felt as if they didn’t get the help they needed. Y’all are a blessing to so many people. You have given these families a sense of relief. It really is a tear jerker and it makes me happy to know there are people like you guys who do the things that you do. Stay safe. ❤️

Have you asked the people living on the lake if they happened to have ever found a car on their radars before? I'm sure some people may not think a lot of finding a car in the water and assume police already knew about it. Just a possibility? Have they ever searched Ninemile Creek, by Kaw Valley HWY Bridge? If Randy's car went into the water there could it have traveled down Ninemile instead of Stranger Creek?

I'm just curious why you aren't going to still scan Gardner Lake. Just because people fish it doesn't mean they know what they are looking at when it comes to an old car in the water. Sonar is a lot more advanced now and you guys are more qualified to know what could be an old car than most fishermen.

Just because people have a fish finder on their boat doesn't mean they will tell anyone they found a car underwater.
they may not realize it is a car. Or think that its just "junk" in the water. I really wish they would physically clear Gardner Lake.
But if he's not there I would go back to my belief that Randy was in that house fire and no way to "clear" that area, sadly.

So sad to hear about the loss of Harold, thoughts and prayers to the family, whoever out there knows where their son is give them closure anonymously, this is terrible to put them through this agony for all these years, put yourself in their place, what if that were your family member missing, and then your father passed away haveing NEVER had that closure

I wish we new where the parents of the kid who had the grad party are so they could be talked too because for some reason I have a feeling that they had something to do with him going missing.
