Ordered the washer from Chris, and it instantly fixed the problem. I didn't realize why the chainsaw was slipping because mine was not as loose as the one in the video. Mine was making sound like a gearbox with broken teeth. I was sure something was broke. I installed the washer, and it works like a champ.
Thanks. I have the same problem w my dewalt 20v, 12-guide bar sprocket. I'm on my 2nd one and the first one did the same thing. I've used them hard. The washer and gear shaft look identical to your larger dewalt16-in saw. I have almost the exact same problem w the washer gap between the gear, but the sprocket teeth have worn down to a cone shape/angle, worse than on your saw. I'm frustrated. My wife just wants me to go down to Home Depoe an purchase another one. As far as design, dewalt should use a higher grade steel in their sprocket fabrication also. I think it was made in china. I dont think you sending me a thicker washer is going to help. Thanks again
😢. My dad sent this video to his cousin who works for DeWalt who said he was going to run it up the chain. I'm sure nothing will come of it but maybe they will release a fix for this issue.
Ok! If you live in the lower 48, I can turn it out and ship it for $15 total. I'll get it put up on my website tomorrow and will send you the link. If all that's cool with you, then you can order it from there. Thank you! 👍

Haven't had issues with this on mine. Just the leaky oil cap.
