Awesome Video Guys! Keep them coming! 🛠🪚🧰
We want more reviews boys!
Thanks for the video. Hopefully will see more from you soon!!
Great team! bounce of each other nicely and great info.
Cheers for this guys, good to hear they have a heavier chain gauge. On the oil leak “issue” with the earlier models: I’ve had literally dozens thru my shop with users claiming they leak: none of them leaked when testing them properly (cleaned first, on blocks, full tank, left for a week or more). They wick oil from oily sawdust, same as every other chainsaw. Good to see the traditional outer cover with 2 nuts tho: lots of users didn’t manage the other covers well. Gotta check them often, especially if you’ve been burying the tool, tearing a shrub apart. Like most chains, they don’t handle side pressure well when running.
cheers pal, good feedback!
Thanks for the video guys. Great practical knowledge.
Our pleasure!
Great present. Just a suggestion in editing, the sound on the PIP videos covered up your commentary as well as some of the presentation when mentioning the accessories. We couldn't see what you were referring to because the video was covering. Also some of the talking over each other we missed part of the comments. Great presentation guys. I'd love a chance to cut with you guys in Australia.
My DeWalts leak like horribly. I own the original 12”, 16”, the new 18” and 14” along with both pole saws and all but the 14” pour out all their oil if you leave it in the saw. I’ve gotten used to just draining my oil out of all my DeWalt saws. The biggest issue I have with the saws, other than oil leakage, is the difficulty it is finding spare chains as their sizes are odd.
I have dropped a lot of trees over the years and cleaned 2 acres with a mix of gas and battery saws and everyone wended up loving the 16” original DeWalt for bucking on the ground with the 12” being perfect for up in a tree. Felling trees was OK for smaller trees with the 18” but we still stuck with gas for dropping most. I prefer the 9 Amp/Hour batteries as a good mix of power, weight, and run time vs. heat build up and with over a dozen and fast chargers you can cut a reasonable pace all day.
nice feedback. im also a big fan of the 16" 54V chainsaw.
Cheers lads, got it out in time for the boxing day sales at least ;) hahaha always good to see an OTT drop in the feed.
You need to do more reviews guys you have a great channel here.
thanks Michael
Agreed. OzToolTalk and Project Farm are my two first choices when looking for tool reviews.
@@bnwww Same here mate 👍👍
We miss you guys. Anyway, hope you are well and that all is fine for you 😊
Ive got the 18v, its done everything i need for a year now, kept the wood burner going for 2 winters
I only get the sthil Petrol out because its faster chain speed if I have lots to cut.
nice
The Dewalt Dcs677 the 20inch version with a 15ah battery cuts faster than my Ms271 it all depends on what chainsaw you have you have the smaller dccs672 with the 18inch bar and Chain it doesn't have as much power as the Dcs677 with the 20inch bar and Chain.
Where you lads gone its been a while🙆🏻♂️
Thanks lads entertaining
Thanks for comparison.
I believe you switched accidentally a sprocket covers as beefier one on the left is supposed to have that gray 20" bar and cover with teeth - so double line of those metal teeth. While smaller DCMCS574 should have yellow bar and no teeth on cover.
I see 16:21 .. sorry, commented when I figured it out. Now I see you admit and know about that.
So can a standard chainsaw chain work or do you need a “special” chain?
Any complaints with performance with the 9Ah aside from run time? I've got several of the 9-12s and would always have a spare *at hand. Wouldn't necessarily want to go 15 if I could help it since it doesn't fit on all FlexVolts.
nup, love the 9Ah batteries
Performance should be the same since they use the same cells, just the runtime should be different.
Just for curiosity, what size battery did y’all use? They claim that power comparison with there 15ah flex volt. I ordered the 20 inch getting it soon! I have a 9 ah battery’s ready to go
Edit: just watched more heard y’all used 15 and 9 ah battery’s 👍
Spikes also called Dogs.
I bought the Milwaukee version with 16" bar a few years ago on the back of your review. Yes it was slightly less powerful than the yellow saw, but I preferred the normal holding nuts vs DeWalt's plastic ratchet. It's a great camping / light duty saw.
Fast forward to today and I'm looking for something bigger: The Stihl 500i or 660, or the Husky equivalent.
FWIW the Milwaukee 16" (or at least my one) leaks bar oil when stored on a flat horizontal surface. *EDIT* "de Fault" has a good point below: " They wick oil from oily sawdust". The two occasions where my red saw had oil collect below it, it had not had the bar removed for cleaning.
The dccs677 is dewalts newest saw its the most powerful electric battery saw ever made by any company. And it's for medium duty work this thing will cut through a 20inch trunk like it's nothing and it has way more torque than my stihl ms 261.
If it's beating your 261, then something's wrong with your 261
@@OZToolTalk not saying it's beating my 261 how ever it does have way more torque than my 261. 261 is probably about 3 to 5 seconds faster cutting the same size branch.
I can tell it has way more torque because I can press down alot more than I can with my 261.
@@OZToolTalk I would like to add my brother has a Stihl 250 and it's faster than it when using the 15ah battery. 261 isn't much faster it's just a matter of time before dewalt or Milwaukee releases a far more powerful battery saw that will shit on most gas saws. It's coming watch what I tell you.
Audio left & Right is flipped :P Great video!
Dammit. Can’t unhear that now and only halfway through! 😂
Replacement chains for the 20" can be hard to find, which is a minus in my book. (They can be special ordered.) I have the 18" and I love it and I can get replacement blades at my nearest hardware store. Also, I'm glad to see you all wearing chaps in your videos, but I don't know if they can stop high torque electric chainsaws.
You can get chain at any mower/chainsaw shop. Yes the chaps would absolutely stop a big saw
Great video but now I'm confused... Should i go with the 18" with 9ah battery for $679 or the biger 20" with 6ah battery ( via redemption) for $649. Im be also buying a line trimmer which will come with a 9ah battery
I'm not sure about the chainsaw, but I much prefer 9ah flexvolt Batts
Hello! Is it possible to know the power of the engine?
Good evening from Auckland, New Zealand ...
Thanks for letting us know you're from New Zealand.
@@andrewford80 Don't get any reviews like this on tools etc, here in NZ?! 🙂🙂🙂
@@peterstevens6555 Check out Tools & Stuff, if you haven't already. He's a kiwi who does great reviews too
Just curious why its a 56v saw in the videos.. whereas mine and others I have seen, says 60v on the bar and saw.
Is a international standard thing or something?
Just google DeWalt 18v vs 20v max or 54v vs 60v max. There's lots of articles explaining how they're the same thing
Please do a review on the new metabo 3 speed metal drill. (4000rpm)
it's so good. been using it myself lately
More people liked the tooless chain tensioner then didn't
nice
Both have the same runtime with 9ah battery???
Don't know exactly, but I suspect they'd cut a very similar amount of wood, yes
My 500mm bar one i 0.050 1.3 mm what 400mm bar would fit 3/8 th lp
are you asking what 400mm bar would fit your 500mm 54v chainsaw?
you could easily grab the 400mm Dewalt bar and just use 0.043 3/8 LP chain with it.
What file size for 500mm chainsaw
4mm
Thanks my mate I found it I got a dremel and some dimond bits sharpened it for first time but the dremel needs be on its lowest I lost diamonds off one but I got 20 for 5 quid I have the pink stones
It's price ......Indian Rs...Love. From India. Shimla Himachal Pradesh
Hey boys how do I get an OTT shirt ?😃
Mike will send you his.. he never wears it anyway.😂
I have the 54v 16" Dewalt. It is not as good as my 36V Stihl.
I haven't tried the Stihl. what makes it so good?
So if one battery can give you 40cc, a dual battery should be able to give you 80cc. Then you just need an electric truck with power in it, like a F150 Lightning, or Cybertruck to charge one set of batteries, while you are burning through the other.😊
An electric truck powered by gasoline 😂
@@ViktorSuhov I've never heard of that, but "Rich Rebuilds" LS swapped a Model S, making it stinky and noisy.
I realise that you are only joking, but power doesn't develop linearly with engine size fyi.
@@OZToolTalk No, but it does with battery size. If you have twice as many cells, you can make twice as many amps, or alternatively, put them in series, and double your voltage. Upping the voltage for a motor, typically increases power.
For sure, but 80cc doesn't equal 40cc power X 2
?
The noise those things make is so cringe.
It's not a pleasant pitch I agree
