    "Vocalise", Op.34, No.14
    Violin Version + Piano Accompaniment
    Transposed to E minor (Rachmaninoff)
"Vocalise" is a song by Sergei Rachmaninoff, composed and published in 1912 as the last of his 14 Songs or 14 Romances, Op. 34. Written for a high voice (soprano or tenor) with piano accompaniment, it does not contain words, but it is sung using any vowel chosen by the singer. It was dedicated to the soprano Antonina Nezhdanova.
Although the original publication stipulates that the song may be sung by either a soprano or a tenor voice, it is usually performed by a female soprano. It is sometimes transposed into a wide variety of keys, allowing artists to choose a more suitable vocal range or instrumental range. "Vocalise" has been arranged for many different instrument combinations.
