    Had one of these as a hire car for a few days back when this was new, and remember being very impressed by it. Comfortable, plenty of room, economical, and loads of kit. Felt very well made too, much nicer than an equivalent Focus or Astra. I'd buy one in a heartbeat. Really underrated cars.

    They look like all season tyres. No point in changing them, because country bumpkins like me just put them back on! Happy with a little more noise to have the reassurance of being able to get home on a snowy night.

    My wife has had an i30 Diesel of every generation.
    The one she had like this was zero tax! The trim looks the same, the SE trim, which is the mid-range. Plenty of toys!
    It was a great car - the only serious problem we had with this one was that a rear brake calliper seized up, and needed replacing. It was a nice step up from the previous generation (this one 112hp, and the previous was 90hp). With this car we also achieved 55mpg, which is probably the best we've ever had from any car.
    Also, the 15 inch alloys look rather small today!

    • @andyrobertshaw9120
      @andyrobertshaw9120 8 днів тому

      @ I say no reason why not to buy one. The auto box is a torque converter, and the engine is a good one as diesels go.
      Obviously check the particular car over before buying as ever.

    I own a 1.4 petrol i30. I wouldn't worry about changing the tyres to cure road noise, they do seem to be fairly bad for road noise no matter what tyres are fitted. If you are on anything apart from a perfectly smooth road it can seem quite intrusive.

    From your stock in this video, looking like you are getting back to your key success factor business model ...dealing in small cheap cars, .... prestige cars cost a lot to buy, and to fix if warranty claims, and can tie up capital for months waiting for a buyer...as for the Jag...whilst it might be nice to drive when it is not blowing hoses or lighting up check engine lights, that really should go trade- warranty risk to you almost unlimited...as they used to say in (1960's TV show) Lost in Space, "Danger Will Robinson".

    I'm on my 2nd Hyundai. I had a first gen i30 diesel which was a really good car. It had all the bells and whistles including leather seats (which someone had polished and I had to brace myself when i was braking lol). I'm now have a 2016 Tucson diesel which I absolutely love. @@humanengine9548 I only had a TPMS sensor fail. That was the only issue I had with the Tucson. It was a very reliable car. No issues with the DPF or EGR. The only thing I can complain about is the fuel consumption. For a 1.7 it was a bit on the thirsty side. If you are thinking of getting a Hyundai/Kia, I would highly recommend one.
