- In this video we go from our hotel near the Seattle airport through the embarkation process onto Eurodam. We show us boarding the ship, exploring the ship, having both lunch and dinner in the main dining room, and participating in some evening activities.
Your video helped me imagine how our family would navigate embarkation day.
I'm so glad to hear that it was helpful to you!
Eurodam was my first cruise ship. I’ll be on it Saturday to Alaska. Loved Alaska so much last year we are going again!!
Going in May on this cruise and even though we’ve done it in the past we’re really looking forward to it, great video!
Thank you! Yes, we're really excited to do another Alaska cruise and try a different cruise line.
you have a lovely family
Yes the room does seem small for 3 people. It’s great to see the whole family! Ship is real nice . Thank you for sharing this video ! Can’t wait to see the rest ! ❤️
Beautiful ship! Nice that it's all of you together!
I dont know why but i think i like the Disney dining rooms better, they seem more fun. I'd like to know who has better food. I can't wait to watch more!
I also like the rooms on Disney better than any other ship I've been on. And I'll tell you right now that we liked the food on Disney WAY better than the food on Holland America. We were very disappointed with the food on Holland America.
Excited your all going to Alaska haven't cruised there yet! The room does look small for you all hopefully the days will be busy so won't be too disappointing. Glad Grandpa wanted to make this trip with everyone! I love the decor the old pictures & the China is pretty. Heather I love all the details you give us.
Thank you for that nice comment about how I include details. I do try to show you as much as I can to help people see and feel what it was like!
Nice to have refreshments while checking in-very nice that the whole family could cruise together. Nice ship models-prefer small ships! Ooh, way forward cabins not a good portend for seasickness! Beautiful Delft china. Glad you have fun, good service. Nice library, & always nice to have movies on demand. I’d rather have paper-then I can highlight activities & not miss anything! Pretty sail-away & nice to have a promenade deck. Sorry it’s so rough. I’ve had harbor pilots leave that late - some people tour before boarding the ship. Great you came in 2nd at GK trivia! I call my 2 grandsons the wrong name all the time!😂 They don’t make family veranda cabins like DCL.
We've never actually stayed in a family verandah cabin on DCL, but even Disney's standard inside staterooms (which we have stayed in) are significantly busy than this one!
We were on the Eurodam a couple of months ago and our suitcases fit under the bed perfect.
Our beds had large storage drawers under them where the cabin steward stored bedding. We could fit the suitcases behind those drawers, but there was not enough space between the three beds to get them in and out.
I heard that you cannot eat in the main dining room for lunch on embarkation day unless you have sailed with
Holland America at least one time previously. Do you know if this is true?
I don't know, but that's interesting. I'd be curious to know if this is true, as well.
Who in the world is Bill W???????????????????!and how many FRIENDS does he have? I only ask bc the last couple of cruises we went on (RC) it was the same thing. Every day had a Bill W gathering. Or is this code for something like swingers?
Friends of Bill W is Alcoholics Anonymous; Bill Wilson was the co-founder. It is very important for people in the program to have access to daily meetings.
@@HeatherTravels I would never have guessed. Guess ya learn something new every day. Better to know than to let my imagination run wild with speculation!
Did you do the pre cruise package and transport to cruise port via HAL?
What hotel did you do your pre-stay?
Hampton Inn & Suites Seattle Airport; there is a tour of the two rooms we had there in the video that posted just prior to this one.
you just siad this is your 10 cruise today. i am impressed. how did you fit that all in one day lol
Heather, I don’t know where to put this, but I had a question for you. My question was where I saw you had posted a video about you starting a new UA-cam channel. What was the name of the UA-cam channel. I tried searching for it last night and couldn’t find it.
After filming five videos for it, and editing three of them, I decided that I do not enjoy making that kind of content and will not be starting a second channel. Also, you can always post questions that are unrelated to a specific video in my Community tab.
What camera did you use to di this video? Any suggestions on a good camera that has really good stabilization
I'm pretty sure I filmed this video with my phone, which is a Samsung Galaxy S21. It actually does a great job. I also use two Canon cameras regularly, mainly my newer Canon G7X. Check out my video from the day we were at Hubbard Glacier and you'll see the beautiful quality of that camera outdoors. It's not great in low light, however, and tends to go in and out of focus indoors. I also occasionally use a GoPro. Honestly, my phone is the most versatile and stable thing I film with, and it does great in low light. I try to film as discreetly as possible without drawing attention.
@HeatherTravels wow great info. Thank you soo much. Did you use a gimble with your phone?
No, I've never really needed one, but my kids tell me I have an unusually steady hand. I do sometimes use a little hand-held tripod with my phone for increased stability.
