    Yeah, I definitely identify with this video. I think we have decided to do a river cruise first. They are very expensive in the US though. I will have to look at European river cruise prices. I don't know why motion sickness is such a big thing for me now. A decade ago it was never a problem. But it is now. Boats, theme park rides, back seat of cars, trains going backwards... all of those things set it off. Sometimes just watching the credits scroll at the movie theater sets it off. But thanks for these helpful tips. I will have to talk to my doctor about the patch. I would like to see if that works.

    Which hotel did you stay in at Seattle? Is a hotel close to the pier/port?

    • @HeatherTravels
      @HeatherTravels 5 днів тому

      We stayed at three different hotels in Seattle, none of which were close to the cruise port because there are no hotels close to the cruise terminal that we cruised from. There are videos showing all of them - 2 near the airport and one across the street from the Space Needle - on my channel.

    I had no idea hurricanes and typhoons were the same thing just in different places. That is fascinating. I remember that video you made from the cruise in the tropical storm in 2022. It is good that technology is such that captains can know when and where hurricanes are forecast and get the ship out of the way. Thanks for sharing this knowledge with us!

    This was a great comparison video. We love all these resorts - even though the rooms are small. It definitely makes staying on property affordable for families. I have reapeatedly tried booking the Little Mermaid rooms at Art of Animation and every time I try, they are booked. I don't know how far in advance I need to book to get one. We would love to stay at Art of Animation but we gotta find an open Little Mermaid room at a time we can travel. But we do love Pop Century. We haven't been to All Stars in years - but we were happy there as well. Look forward to hearing how your trip to WDW goes (or went if you already took the trip).

    Great tips I do get sea sick once I put the patch on me it works . I might made me a bit tired but not too bad. I did have to ask for it at the pharmacy desk they have it behind the counter for sale this was in Toronto Canada. They do not sell dramaine up here which they did when we go to Buffalo NY to shop I pick some up there they have non drowsy. I Am researching now different cruise ships out of Florida for hubbys birthday going in Feb its been a few years since we cruised we have been doing the all inclusives. Excited to get back on a cruise.

    Sorry to hear about your experience. I just got back from The Eurodam . The rooms are large for two people and plenty of storage. Main dinning room was fast . We didn’t have same experience. However, I feel everyone is different. My husband and I travel a lot, we live simple. Only travel with a carry on and backpack. So the room was large to us. It was the fitness room that needed some help. Stuffy, more room needed. Holland invested more space in the spa than fitness room. Glacier bay was amazing and up close and personal. Good luck on your next cruise

      Since ship crews are usually on 6 or 9 month contracts, you likely had a completely different crew than we did. Even cruising with just two people, which I have done several times, that was still by far the smallest cabin I've ever had.

    Hi Heather! I know you are rather expert at travel (thus your channel). What are your recommendations for luggage, specifically for airline & cruise travel. I have no idea where to start (there's literally a million brands & styles to choose from). I presume you have this down to a tee and I need details of your personal recommendations of brands etc. Thank you so much from a soon-to-be first time cruiser!

    • @HeatherTravels
      @HeatherTravels 14 днів тому

      It really depends on your price range. We love our Samsonite. It holds up well and is reasonably priced. I can also personally recommend TravelPro and Swiss Gear. We also prefer soft-sided luggage because it is easier to cram more into it, it is easier to force into tight spaces, it often weighs less, and it is less likely to show wear and tear, but again, it's a personal preference. Some key features to look for: - a good, smooth zipper - a sturdy, adjustable pull handle - four double wheels that rotate in all directions; try it out, actually pull it if you're in a store; it should roll smoothly - a bold color that you like that will make it easier to spot on the baggage carousel (NOT black!) - exterior storage pockets (almost unheard of on hard-sided luggage) - if you buy a clamshell type hard-sided suitcase, make sure it has panels or straps to hold both sides of clothes in their respective halves when you open and close it Remember to include wheels and handle in the exterior measurements if you plan to carry on! Let me know if you have any more questions :)

    if we are picking up someone and planning on parking there for a few hours, would we just go to the short/long term parking like you mentioned at 1:29

    • @HeatherTravels
      @HeatherTravels 14 днів тому

      Yes, follow the signs for short-term parking or hourly parking. No matter which color you park in, you can access the terminal either via the skyway or below ground - just follow the signs to "Departures" and then take the escalator or elevator to Arrivals. Make sure you are at the right terminal! Check with the person flying to make sure you know which airline they are on. The budget airlines are at Terminal 2, which has its own parking ramp. Check out my "Flying Solo" video that I made after this one for even more specifics!

    Great topic. We have been trying to take each of our parents on trips with us occasionally. And they have been hesitant because of their health issues. But we want them to have some enjoyable experiences in however many years they have left and not just sit in their homes bored. So we have had to figure out how to customize the trip so they can enjoy themselves. It takes some adjustments but it certainly can be done. Thanks for sharing this topic with us!

  • @trvlnthru
    @trvlnthru 16 днів тому

    Yes! You are so right... I much prefer the heavily Disney-themed resorts to the "fancy" modern resorts they seem to be building now. Yacht Club is our favorite resort of any we have stayed at on WDW property. But, as you say, the price is the downside there. We can not afford to stay at Yacht Club often. But we enjoyed a bit of a splurge a couple years ago and spent a weekend at Yacht Club and it was fantastic. The Yacht Club/Beach Club pool is the best pool we have ever seen at a hotel. We haven't tried out either of the Port Orleans resort. But we do want to stay there some day. We enjoyed hearing your take on these resorts. Thanks for sharing this comparison with us!

I had a full knee replacement a year ago feels pretty good the other knee isn't a %100 I don't walk as much as I should & hope to go to Europe next year but if I have to spend more when I am tired on a taxi or take a bus more then I will. I have to push myself now to not be afraid & enjoy my life while I can doesn't matter if I see everything or can't walk miles & miles there is other ways to get around & extra rest might be needed but better then no travelling.

      How timely! My mom is having her second knee replacement next week. She said kind of the same thing, that she has been afraid to walk, and her world has become very small because of it. Take the first exit. Follow the signs for rental car return. Even though the cars are stored in the silver ramp and the rental car counters are on the ground floor of the silver ramp, rental car customers need to go to a different side of the ramp; it is physically divided from the parts that the public can park in.
