I am so glad that I'm not the only one that doesn't turn on all the lights... I prefer the evening when it's getting dark and lighting a candle to cook... My husband ways walks in and turns the lights on... I always say to him "when ur in ur office do I come in and turn off ur computer?!" Lol... The kitchen is MY AREA... 😆 🤣 😂
Thank you for stirring up memories of farm life days. My late husband's favorite rolls were the apple and walnut cinnamon rolls I made for him. So good, maybe I need to make a batch for old time's sake 🙏❤✝
Thanks for sharing beautiful motherhood, Lisa! Would love to see what “play” looks like for your kids, especially the little littles (we’re talking the crawlers and barely walking ones). Thanks, again!
Oh I’m so excited for this summit! My husband and I bought raw land and we’re building our home ourselves and planning on doing all the homesteading. I’m born and raised a city girl so I’m so excited for this opportunity to learn! Thanks for sharing! ❤️
Yes they look scrumptious I'll get the recipe will make them during the holidays I'll start with a small batch if they come out great and the family loves it I'll make a large batch
That's funny-fresh figs come out near me once a year and I try to like them but am not a huge fan with them raw on oatmeal but I'm not sure other ways to cook them. Also, thanks for noting that your kids liked the microwave oatmeal packets. It's a reminder that even with an abundance of homemade food, people and kids will still like some "processed" foods. It's a relief knowing that's normal.
We could use some rain here in South Texas. We haven't had a good soaking rain. Our levels are very low & restrictions are on for water. No watering grass or washing cars.
Gathering my supplies to finally get started on my sourdough! Thank you so much for the free sourdough PDF on your site it's super helpful for a newbie to sourdough like me to know what I'm getting into.☺️
You could sell us seats to eat at your breakfast table Lisa!! Those breakfast rolls look so delicious! So glad you guys are safe from all the flooding!! ❤️
Thanks so much for sharing - I love how flexible you are with your dough and just coming up with new ideas based on the season and sharing them. And I'm excited for the free School of Traditional Skills summit - this looks like a really great initiative!
So excited to see you in the same lineup as Joel Salatin in the traditional skills summit!! Congratulations. Seeing how you do it all while raising children is inspiring😊
Food looked yum, I make a quiche like that all the time but would definitely recommend chopping and cooking the bacon to almost desired doneness and then adding right on top of the figs, pour custard over all and bake.
Oh goodness everything looked sooo good!! That oatmeal, YUM!! I can now eat oatmeal bc of your tip to soak in lemon juice! Thank you!Watching you cook is so meditative for me. Thank you for another wonderful video! ❤️
Really off topic but I also follow a Japanese woman named Nami (also the name of her channel). She cooks many traditional meals. Last week she also made mozzarella cheese then used the butter milk to make what looked like a delicious lemon drink. Thought it maybe another way for you to use your butter milk. I’m a sucker for regular people who cook with passion. Thanks for sharing.🦘🇦🇺
Another person you would probably like is Laura Vitale. She’s here on UA-cam as well “Laura in the Kitchen”. She’s another regular person, passionate about cooking 😊.
Our weather has been similar in WV. I was happy for the lower temps but the rain caused lots of flash flooding. Everything you made looks divine as always❤️
I make refrigerator oats and add lots of pecans. My favorite is to add peaches but oh my goodness, should I add cream? I’d probably eat a whole weeks worth in one day. Oh and I make my oats with coconut water, not milk or water. They are so delicious.
@@shannonmcrae1364 it depends on the countries and the days. I am originaly from Portugal but live at the moment in France. In Portugal we usually have some bread or toast with chocolate milk or milk with coffee, sometimes milk with cereal but at our house I rarely buy cereal because it has too much sugar and my kids won't eat the ones that don't have sugar. The bread or toast we eat with butter or jam. In France it's similar but on the weekends (and week days for some families too) they eat "viennoiseries", they are different cakes made with puff pastry, some have apple inside, some have almond paste, some are empty like the croissant that we fill with ham or jam etc. So we eat mostly simple things that lean more sweet than savoury here. 🙂
Yes, we love apple in the cinnamon scrolls . Weve done them so many ways now. Just yesterday I used some guava paste that I preserved and wasn't getting eaten. I added cinnamon and cubed apples. Delicious then I made pizza scrolls with our homemade pizza sauce but I forgot to leave the sugar out of the dough. Apparently the sweet dough with savoury pizza sauce was delicious anyway. Lol. My sourdough starter was a little tired after some neglect lately and yesterday's sandwich loaf wasn't amazing but still edible. Today the starter is looking so happy that I'll try the sourdough all week method. We are still loving every sourdough recipe here. 🥰🥰
It's nice to see updated videos of your recipes to see how the blog recipes are supposed to turn out! My english muffins look just like yours, but when I try to cook with freshly milled hard white wheat or freshly milled einkorn for the cinnamon rolls or other recipes it can be hit or miss. I never get a light and elastic dough with fresh milled flour.
I have sourdough Starter. I just have questions. The Day I went to make the Bread. I didn’t get to baking the Bread. I put the dough in the fridge. Can I have the dough out for 24 hours and then bake it. I also I saved the discard dough from the feedings. Didn’t want to waste it. I started another starter, with some of it. Some of it I put in a jar and put it in the fridge. Can I use it some how, without feeding it?
I would love it if you would post a video or part of one on how you deal with garden pests. I'm having one heck of a time with Japanese beetles. They love my flowers and my basil. I have traps and I have sprayed Neem oil with some dish soap. Do you have any issues like this? Your garden always seems picture perfect, so I'd love to know your tips or tricks.
Can I make mozzarella from pasteurized milk or cream? I don’t have access to raw milk. Also, I love the little one humming while gathering in the garden with his little basket. 😊
I love your videos. Just curious do you have a community of people around you physically that enjoys homesteading activities? I'd like to hear from your viewers too. I tend to come to youtube and mewe for this type of community. I don't have it locally. Most people look at me a little strange when I talk about sourdough, ferments etc. I think it would be great to be close to people who enjoy homesteading and homemaking.
I'm so totally amazed by your knowledge and energy! I do have a question about the eggs on your counter in that gorgeous bowl. How long can you leave those eggs out like that and still have them be safe to eat? Everything looks divine...simply divine!
Farm fresh eggs have a coating on them called bloom that protects them against bacteria and air entering the egg. Thus they can safely sit on the counter for weeks unlike store purchased eggs which have been washed and have to be refrigerated. I would be comfortable eating my eggs that have been sitting out for a month or so.
I use Our Farm Fresh Eggs in baking, for breakfast. That have been at room temperature for at least a month. It is such a Blessing to have them for Baking, since most recipes call for room temperature Eggs. Farm Fresh Eggs keep for so much longer than store bought. When buying store bought Eggs they can already be 90 days old.
Looks so good. I have made your cinnamon roll recipe & it's yummy. I remember you saying you didn't add the eggs for the long ferment overnight & added them in the morning. Looks like you went ahead & added them to the sweet roll dough before you went to bed. Is it ok either way?
If you don't mind me asking, which carrier is that you have in the thumbnail? I love it! My son is getting bigger and I think my back would thank me if I got something more like this

Those sound good! Was it sliced apples or pureed down apples?
I would love to have recipe like this. Can you share it?
Those sound delicious
Thanks for your brief recognition of flood victims.
The eggs on the herb-buttered English muffins got to me. Peaches & cream oatmeal made me all but die of happiness. LOL.
That peaches & cream oatmeal look deelish I love good oatmeal and steel cut oats are the best

Mmmmmm, everything sounds and looks so delicious, Lisa ❤️❤️❤️

You could try a savoury oatmeal: stir in eggs, ham pieces(optional), spring onion or chives or basil, add salt and butter to taste.
Love your way av cooking 🥰

You are such an inspiration!! Thank you for all your ideas!
Whoa, I need that peaches and cream oatmeal recipe!!
oh your oatmeal just looks amazing! I'll be saving this for the fall as I have a hard time with warm oatmeal when its hot outside!
Oatmeal bakes are everywhere on the Net
Just have also some quartered hardboiled eggs w/s&p-dip in mustard for extra yum
Such great ideas! You amaze me!

Everyone of them looked delicious. I am sure your fam did ❤️ those blueberry buns.

So excited for this summer event! Also id love to know what makeup you were wearing in the voice over clips
