As someone who was there when the whole prop gun thing happened, it was a COSPLAY EVENT for "School Spirit Week". That is why people were dressed up like that,.
As someone budding into the fursuit dance scene the past 3 years,,, hearing you talk about all your experiences past and present had my eyes sparkling. How freekin incredible
Eek, me and my bf went to our first furcon this weeked, the UK based Confuzzled, and omg was it amazing..... I truly felt at home with my own kind, people who I can fit in with, everyone was so nice and kind, asking for pictures with fursuiters, to all the events going on, to all the unique fursona species and fursuit designs, it was honestly the best weekend of my life, both me and my partner enjoyed it, it's opened our eyes to the fandom even more. The only downside was that I got tonsillitis the day after we got back, came out of nowhere and hit me like a truck. And there was an alert about some dodgy people "most likely anti-furs" hanging around at night, so we all had to travel back to the hotel in groups based on hotel. Apart from that, we still had a blast, there's nothing like that first furcon 😁🦊
You are genuinely such a huge inspiration to me! The way you work hard and make your dreams come true is incredible! Thank you for sharing your stories in dance!
Oh my gosh, the kings cosplay at MFF really made my con. I was in the blue and black kemono-style suit who got a photo with y'all at the base of the stairs in the Hyatt one of the nights! Anyhow, as a fellow Aloft sufferer, that walk really drained me too... and the amount of people has become very cumbersome so I think we are in agreement. Even in 2022, it was pretty tough and that was a little under 13k.
That comeback was amazing and you guys killed it! Brings back memories of exactly what Furternity did 10-11 years ago. I happened to receive this as a recommendation and couldn't help but revisit. If I was there watching I'd be screaming at yall KILLIN IT that Aaliyah / Big Sean part! Just a shout out from afar, great job on all these years of your progression. Everyone is still doing an amazing job and I salute you all for your hard work.
They sent an announcement that for certain floors you had to get on the elevator on certain floors. Meaning if you wanted to get on that elevator on a floor below the designated floor... you were in the wrong. This also meant EVERYONE is meant to get off on that mentioned floor. This was to help manage lines and get the flow going. You can't believe how many people were trying to get onto a full elevator on the wrong floor and cussed everyone out over it. Dude... they even had signs up talking about the elevator off and on rules determined over the floor you're trying to get on. Staff were nice enough to allow several people to use the staff elevators which REALLY helped with the congestion. Their elevators were HUGE in comparison and could hold more people going up or down.
Wait you were the King of Hyrule?! Dude you guys had me and anyone around laughing, I was walking in front of you on the sky bridge and I couldn't stop fr. I kinda want to give FWA a try sometime but it's also kinda difficult for me to choose between it and MFF due to me knowing my ways around it. Hopefully there'll be a year I can attend both but I'm glad to see there's more cons getting bigger
That is so awesome that you got to perform in that context. Watching fursuit dancers has gotten me interested in trying it myself, but I may be too slow and inflexible now. Oldook, you see. Eventually I'll make it to FWA, it's like _right there_ but just far enough to require a hotel room.
Watching on my tv but had to pull out my phone for commenting. This video is 10/10, first off didnt know this was your channel, you are so kind and your dances are fabulous! I LOVE the format of this video, if Ive never been to FWA I would highly recc this video. You get everything you need to know from the possible drama, issues, positives, and things that need worked on. I would like to add a few missed things… 1) I was told it was a firework in the bathroom, not the restaurant, apparently it was recorded? Idk. Continuing, the Hyatt I think? Was telling disabled guests to use the STAIRS over the elevators and would YELL at them. I feel FWA staff and the CsC security or whomever they are, should get on the same page better… also dealers. People could go down and walk up stairs to get into dealers instead of waiting in line like most people. I feel these are big things missed and wanted to share. Additionally cars parked not in the hotel were targeted/ broken into. Super sorry for the paragraph, I wanted to add as I felt these were super important. I also widh there was more headlesslounges ngl, I think I only found 2 in all…
i didn't hear about these! honestly with how bad the third party staff was I wouldn't be surprised if they told disabled people to go down to the next level or something. shame. firework was a rumor. this info was from staff, no proof of it but from my understanding it was a grease fire. thank you very much for the praise btw ❤️
i've always been nervous about going to irl furry events (even though i've been in the community for years), but your videos have helped me break out of my shell-i just went to a furry rave, am about to go to a local furry meetup, and hopefully by the time next year rolls around i'll be up to going to a full fledged con. Thank you for your cool and inspiring videos :))
Genuinely as an mmo gamer who doesn't exactly work out but can push himself hard as hell. I **ran** up to the 21st floor +in suit twice for a total of like 8 times XD during this con I may be a madman and my legs sure as hell hurt but I was not dealing with that elevator holy crap
I liked your final ranking XD that was an awesome video, i have always wondered the process of a group dance, and you documented one! Thanks so much for sharing!
Also i was a teen who watch furternity back in the day so cool to see them all back. I did try out for dance comp this year and in my nervousness i completely butchered my routine xwx
Bomb voyage "incident" was pure hilariousness tac gear boys know how to add spice and I don't not regret dressing the part for the school theme as Eric with my natural selection shirt 💀
The Bomb Voyage cosplayer is a pretty nice dude online, while the issue with tactical gear & prop weapons is certainly a controversial topic I frankly don't see any issue depending on "Cosplay Context"; Basically if people want to cosplay characters from any media that happen to be militaristic or tactical (Rainbow 6 Siege, Umbrella Corp. from Resident Evil, Call of Duty, OCs, etc.) that's fine, but I draw the line at deliberately cosplaying figures or characters that solely depict aggressive tendencies towards attendees (i.e. edgy school shooter duster coats or a certain Germanic military during the 1930s -1940s). I think the situation showed some problems in the fandom as well, with people who DID NOT attend the convention complaining online about feeling unsafe or demanding tactical gear & prop weapons being banned altogether. My character is a mercenary, he has his signature AK-style rifle and tactical vest along with other misc. accessories, my first convention at TFF back in 2015 I wore a tactical vest, red & white camo pants and even had an AK airsoft gun for a prop weapon. Didn't have any issues. Nowadays I still would like to cosplay my character but with these kinds of events happening it feels more and more restrictive for others to express their interest and just have fun cosplaying. The other happenings at FWA I take more-so issue with, such as the muggings, the substance abuse that was prominent and... the _unspeakable acts in the lobby during the morning hours_ are what I would consider to be priority over the response the con staff gave for the Bomb Voyage incident, the con management needs to get its act together with these kind of things. Your experience with the convention looks like a positive one, though. You seemed to enjoy the offerings and your involvement with the dance comp. was both fun to watch on here and was inspirational, even to someone like me that's not even into dance. Shoot, if I wasn't such a recluse most of my life I would consider doing guitar covers at cons more often (meaning any chance I could get). Best of luck with your future endeavors, can't wait to see more content!
I appreciate this fair and balanced response. while I don't particularly like tactical cosplayers I can understand if it's like, fantasy based, like Soldier 76 from OverWatch or something like that. that I can very well understand. Even Call of Duty, I don't like Call of Duty and I do not understand the fandom that supports the game but even in that situation I get the appeal (Even though a lot of COD players I've met have just been racist assholes). from what I understand there were people in that group that were also cosplaying as controversial political figures and I even saw one person dressed in a full thobe and keffiyeh and I'm 95% sure that the person wasn't actually Muslim. It was just edgelord shit for the sake of being in edgelord.
@@iBolt07 I completely forgot to include a small anecdote from my 1 day out at TFF this year; I was walking around Artist Alley and came across a fursuiter with tactical gear on, I had heard a rumor that TFF was going the route of banning tactical gear years prior but never got a confirmation. So I walked up to the guy and said something along the lines of "Wow, that's some cool gear you got. Looks great with the suit! Tell me, did anyone give you trouble with the tactical stuff?". He said "No, I would hope not... I served and this is kind of a way for me to cope with that experience. Like, with my suit it's one thing, but this is my actual character's loadout, so it's kind of personal to me. Thanks for the compliment, though." Basically it can also be a coping mechanism for some who have served or want to fit closer to their character's depictions? Either way, it was a fun day out. Also, I think this might have been one of the most cordial and respective conversations between two different furries I've experienced on the internet today, very refreshing interaction.
