My last mobile home that i put a rubber roof on, i poured the cool seal out in streams and used a 2ft squeegee to spread it! That was 20 years ago and that stuff is still there with no cracks lol. I sold the trailer and told the guy to pressure wash the roof every other year to get a long life out of it ! Looks good Drew !
I have no trees around my mobile home. And here in Florida, we get such heavy downpours that my roof was spotless when I sealed it. And personally I don't recommend having someone walking around on your mobile home roof every other year. Best to keep the walking around to a minimum.
@JackBean-rd4uo just gotta know where to walk !! I cleaned mine every year rather needed or not ! I put a new metal roof on it 3 year ago so have no worries now !!
I agree 100% do not walk on your roof. If you don’t have to you can also put Cool Seal on from a ladder without getting on the roof. It’s a little more harder, but it can be done.
@Drewsroofingandhomerepair I had 14 trees around that particular trailer, unfortunately I had to clean it regularly. I never had a problem once I rubberized the roof. But walking it I always stayed on the trusts. That way there was no roof sag.
It is easy . Step on the rafters and just be careful. You do the edges from a ladder . No need to get any closer to the edge than the length of your roller handle.
I used the 150 dollar 5 gallon bucket stuff. 2 buckets. I first went up and did both ends and i had some small rust areas. Then a first lighter coat and then a heavier coat 2 days later. Luckily i did it in the best conditions, cool and dry with a breeze that we had this spring in Florida. Great weather for the job. Im 64 and in shape, so the job was so easy . I almost paid someone 350 to do the job ,but decided to do it myself. That way i know its done right. I even put 3 coats on my cargo conversion camper. I was barefoot and wearing only shorts, it felt like i was on the beach. 😂
Lol. I’m glad to hear that you could do it yourself. It can get expensive to get a contractor on your mobile home and if he’s not good, he could make a mess up there. I’m glad you do it yourself and I agree with the two coats separated by a couple days, thanks for the visit, my friend
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair So is it the exact same way when done with a rubber roof? In other words when you do the rubber roof do you the poke a hole where the vent pipes are going from under where they were or do you poke the hole topside where you put the rubber roof on?
I booked a hole from the Top side, my friend sorry it took me so long to answer this. I didn’t see it on my next video. I will show you as a matter fact Paul and I are starting one on Tuesday. Be watching. Make sure you hit the bell notification and notify next time we put out a video.

Hey glad i found your channel.. i am going to do this.. do you recommend the fibered, or nonfibered? I have the same kind of roof in this video.. thanks
Do you not see a need for the Hydrostop base coat before the Hydrostop top coat? I will definitely coat the great roof you and crew built for my mobile!
No need the basecoat is if you were going to apply that to a dirty, unprepared rusted whatever the case may be surface you do not need a basecoat when Hydro stopping a Rubber Roof. All it needs to be is clean. And after you coat the first coat with Hydro Stop on the rubber you can then use any Cool Seal Hydro Stop cost $200 a bucket plus tax Cool Seal is more like $100 a bucket plus tax so you can go over Hydro Stop with Cool Seal from Lowes
If you call Seal over rust it might be a problem. I’m afraid the Cool Seal won’t stick. There is stuff they sell at Lowe’s for prepping areas with rust. It’s a rust, resistor or rust repel. He can put that on it and then paint it with enamel paint before he coats it. So if that makes sense coat the rusted metal with enamel spray paint from a can let it sit for a couple days and then Cool Seal that paint will stick better than the Cool Seal will.
There is something else also that you can do to the areas that have rust if you go up there and make sure they’re dry maybe take a wire brush scrub the rust a little bit blow it off and then spray paint it with enamel paint the enamel will trap the rust under the Cool Seal as long as the rust will not be a problem so I suggest a wire brush make sure it’s dry and then spray paint enamel paint on it before you, Cool Seal it and that will take care of your biggest problem

I wish I had the confidence to do my own roof. Y'all make it look so easy.

Exactly
Burnt hard. You can do it. Use a ladder
