Normal "Experts"- "Rick can I grab your customers items?"
Him- "Can I inspect the sword with your permission?"
The way of a samurai
His voice makes it legendary
His voice needs to be on South Park
so did judge ito who handled the oj simpson case
Ikr. Honestly he's my man among experts.
This guy and Rebecca are the only experts I would trust on the show
tdkcastro they are the only ones entering the shop who don’t look like freaking jojo characters
Didn't Rebecca get fired?
What about the museum director
@@cptpayday2080 LMAO
And Brett
This man needs his own show!
Exactly
Yep. Love him. I'd watch it.
I always love how polite he asks can I hold your sword 🗡️ such a good dude
This guy is my favorite. *2ND TO REBECCA THAT IS*
Why the caps weirdo
THE FAT DUDE THAT BREATHES HEAVILY Rebecca’s not a guy
@laser325 Eeeeeeeeh
Rebecca was first a sweet girl. Until money and fame turned her into a wicked city woman
Rebecca is a fake expert
I love this guy. He is very honorable toward the swords. It wouldn't surprise me if he studies Iaido or some other classical martial art. The way he handles them, it's apparent that he honors them.
Yes he got into Swords from Kendo.
The way he asks for permission and bow down to the sword is just class, his way of explaining is just icing on the cake.
this guy is actually a ninja, just notice how he can read without his glasses,it's just a part of his disguise.
Um, maybe he's nearsighted and he only needs glasses to see things at a distance?
@@kidfox3971 Um, maybe the joke went over your *tilts glasses downward a bit* head?
For anyone wondering at 1:38 although it was a forgery, the forgery itself was done hundreds of years ago so it was still worth a lot of money
Ova h nope. Fakes from back in time can be worth quite a bit as well. Some forged coins that were forged hundreds of years ago can be worth more than the originals
@@Unknownz000 completely incorrect they are still hundreds of years old and still very valuable and were made out of the same metal as the real blade. You obviously do not know the value of these.
@@Unknownz000 not every market is the same as coin
I doubt very much it was made long ago. If it was made in the Edo period they'd have known where the signature ought to go and not used a name that wasn't a recorded old smith. The actual blade's grain was also as rough as an old goats knee, all over too, so nothing like a real Nihonto at all.
@@Unknownz000 im not an expert but im pretty sure coins and sword are different. Lmfao
By far this is the best expert Rick calls in
I love how he treats every sword and owner with respect
I love how he asks the owners permission, beautiful manners and respect
Mike Yamasaki, Rebecca, Sean Rich & Craig Gottlieb is my favorite experts
He’s brilliant and I love the gracefulness on how he asks to examine the sword.
Mike comes to my workplace often he’s a really nice guy! The first time I met him I geeked out cuz he’s my favorite expert on the show!
He never forgets to show us the traditional way of removing the blade from the handle and the hilt.
Mike: What you're looking at is Enma...
*Slices the pawnshop in half
some black swords can be dangerous too.
Ame no habakiri is cool tho
See those warriors from Hammerfell? They’ve got curved swords. Curved. Swords.
Love the way this guy talks. Can listen to him all day
This guy needs his own show.
If this guy had his own show I will watch every day
I feel like mike would tell great stories about his good ol days
4:00 Couldn't be more American. Mike hands over the Katana with two hands. Rick takes it with one. ZERO HONOR & RESPECT.
Chum would probably take it to the nearest tree and break it lol
@@yechanchoi8580 To you it is, to others it's much more.
@@IHydro true
@@IHydro I think he is sarcastic......
Every culture has differences in the way they do things. Holding it against someone for not knowing the customs of every culture they come in contact with is ignorant.
I love when Mike comes out. He's so knowledgable and seems like a really cool guy
Mike is a G, he knows a lot and gets to the point of the origins of the swords. He should have a show on History channel.
Lol at min 4:00 Yamasaki is giving him the sword with two hands and the unrespectful way rick wraps the katana from Yamasaki 🤦🏻♂️
Yamasaki is presenting the sword back to its owner. Rick should grab it from the sageo (cord) for sure, but what does a guy like Rick know about obscure Japanese customs?
Scott W Pilgrim well technically not the Sageo but the tsuka even if it’s in the saya, it’s a sign of trust from Yamasaki but you are right I don’t spect Rick would know that
Rick: Gimme my sword, China-man!
Literally who cares. It's a sword, and it's his until he sells it. Is he supposed to take a full course on obscure Japanese customs just because he bought a sword?
Baba Yaga nobody cares , it’s just a comment
Can we give Mike and Rebecca their own spin off? Or are they too humble for that lol
I want to see them all run a train on Rebecca.
@@robmichael8136 Rebecca is just average. I don't get why people think she is the hottest woman or something.
@@vitald8796 I agree, I was just joking around with everyone's fascination with her. They must not get out much.
Love the way he takes the blade out
This guy is a ninja
ziad eldeeb More like a Samurai
He’s actually former yakuza. It’s mentioned in his bio
Master Debater no way! Send link
ziad eldeeb he’s my uncle
Ew no
The way Rick accepted the sword at 4:00 was weak sauce.
I can watch mike all day long talking about samurai swords history
Everybody loves Rebecca- but this is who I loved to see come on- his knowledge and the topic are just fascinating.
1:47 this dude kinda look like Thanos!!!
Rick harrison is the sexiest man on tv
Robber: THIS IS A STICK UP GIVE ALL THE MONEY.
Rick: Best I can do is 12.50 remember I’m taking all the risk here.
Wow that’s about the millionth time the “I’m taking all the risk” joke has been used, good for you for not being original.
@@kyleboyle1902 best I can do is giving you 1 dislike for the karen sarcasm, remember I'm taking all the risk here
@@Alarlaure And the best I can do is not to agree with either one of you and I am taking all the risk here, plus I have to frame my disagreement.
Love how he is taking them apart and giving it a few knocks like he is the only one Who knows how😂
1:55 that was slick
fox goldmen slick Rick
Even his voice has become a legend after inhaling so much polishing dust
You have to accept the sword with both hands to honor the one giving you the sword rick 😒😂
I bet he learned all that from For Honor
Lol
I would love to attend a class on Japanese swords with this guy teaching it
Nobody:
Rick: Best I can do is -12$
Mason Adams And he's taking all the risk here
1:35 I like when Chum have that look "I hit the JACKPOT!" MILLION DOLLAR!...
Guy: I have the Mona Lisa
Rick: I’ll give you $20
You're 5 years late
I’ll give you five bucks and a paper clip, even then I’m taking a risk
Bring back the full episodes 🙏
"They used to do this in samurai movies after battle"
😂😂
pause at 4:01 Mr. Yamasaki goes to hand Rick the sword in a proper honorable way (bowing w/ 2 hands on either side of the sword... He's taken off guard when Rick just snags he handle like it's a new golf club!!! Painful to watch!!!!
Yea and hes so respectful when hes examining the kata sword hes like MAY I SEE UR SWORD?
Literally who cares. It's a sword, and it's his until he sells it. Is he supposed to take a full course on obscure Japanese customs just because he bought a sword?
Schnoz no but he should atleast be knowledgeable and respectful about the items in his stuff and their customs. How you going to try and sell something you don’t know anything about?
Schnoz what a clown
Japanese swords are really work of art that why it has more value compare to other swords.
Mike is very mild mannered but I bet if anyone steps to him he'll dice them like he's playing Fruit Ninja
Rick: “Best I could do is a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles dvd and a packet of Kikkoman soy sauce”
Awesome guy
This sword is the sword of the Tokugawa clan. A precious Japanese treasure
i like Mike and Rebecca as Appraisers in Rick's shop.
This guy does now to work well.
And you can trust him.
I like his work.
a legend expert...
This guy is my spirit animal
Two person only this show can give me goosebump .. this guy and rebecca
Love how he talks
This Katana is worth $4 million
Pawn Stars : best i can do is 5 bucks
Love this guy
Rick prides himself on knowing the history of items . He needs to do some reading on handling a Katana . Centuries of culture and respect . Falls on deaf ears in the Pawn shop . Like giving a monkey a violin .
1:45 the face I make when I'm speeding and I see a cop bust a U turn
Samurai Mike
Mike is my fav expert
Yeah this guy is cool
Corey - "I can't tell you what I bought"
Chum - "It's a Samurai Sword."
Corey - "Shut up Chum."
I want to know how he takes off the handles of the swords like that
I’ve seen most of these episodes and I understand they are just in this business of buy/sell katana. but i think Rick and the staffs should at least learn the proper gesture as a respect when recieving the sword. At least, It should not be grabbed by one hand and yank while seated.
i love samurai sword!
Honorable !!!
"may i take a look on your sword" 😂
1:58 *That was slick!*
Gustav Lindgren slick Rick
1:46 Rick's like, wait im gonna make 4 million from this sword alone?
the guy that always say actually is back
He also knows way more than the idiots in that shop lol
1:56 I wish I could do that with my samari sword
So this guy wear glasses basically on daily bases but when he needs to read a fine print or almost erased inscription he takes the glasses off 🤣🤣
He might need glasses for far sight instead of near sight
I am nearsighted. But I take my glasses off for things really close.
This might be the most ignorant comment I have read this week .
“Samuaris are pretty badass”
“Well,-“
God, chum comes off as so braindead sometimes lol.
I would never hand Chumlee a katana. Not even a $50 one lol
Mike is a fascinating guy. I'd apprentice under him if I could. Change careers entirely
Anyone else thinks that Mike Yamasaki should just have an instagram or something and just post about swords and their stories?? If there is and I can’t find it, can somebody send me a link?
His Japanology is insane !
Plot twist he's chinese
my favorite swordsman😍😍😍
Looking at it, Yamaski seems to be the only one who understands that these swords are extremely dangerous if one is not very careful
Dear history channel give this guy a show.
Good thing Rick has a buddy that's a ninja.
J R's Place he’s my uncle
I hope to buy it one day
That was slick
The sword whisper
I would watch a show of just this guy traveling looking at swords and telling us history. And would also watch a show with just Rebecca
I always liked this guy and Craig.
Damm i need that last one!
Guys never forget: RIP the old man
Oh wow! Had no clue he had passed!
Mike my favourite and jess
Seller: I found the Honjo Masamune in my grandpa's attic.
Pawn guy: Best I can do is 50$
We bow in front of swords as a sign of respect.
A little "DAB DAB DAB" STAY HIGH CHUM
Smokin uppll
Chumlee the great white ninja
Geezus $35-$40k Samurai Sword!
They're meant to be sitting around in some rich old geezer's collection, not for some random punk to swing around.
delieyo01
I’ll have 2 😂
1:39 look at the face💵💵
So it gets rid of fingerprints you say. Nice. Lol
Cool
Is that disguised Toast 😂
