I love this poem and this rendition made me weep for it's beauty.
It's exalting, yet melancholy.
Affirmative, yet mournful.
Joyous, yet sad.
Glorious, yet Tragic.
Well done...well done.
I sang this three years ago for my freshman men's choir during a concert and now 3 years later earlier today in choir class I sang it again and the lyrics took a new meaning due to me reaching the end of my senior year I just had to sit down and cry after finishing the song
Hi stephen its winter u fr
Just started learning this song in choir. Singing along at home because it's so beautiful
What a beautiful song.
We are doing this song in my professional boys choir and it is by far one of my favorite songs I have done. We have younger boys singing the SSA part and my director has added TTB to the song as well. Me being a Tenor 1 this is probably the most beautiful way he could have thought to have blended it and it sounds so good. The SSA mixing with the TTB is absolutely gorgeous and I wouldn't have it any other way.
my sister misses college listening to this.
I can only pray that my choir can sing this song as well as the choir in this video
So adorable...
We are singing this in choir, but were taking it MUCH slower and more flowy. This version goes a little too fast for my liking :/
But I LOVE THIS SONG!!!

does anyone know if their is a version of the music score without the chorus?
Why can't I find any men's choir recordings? This piece is great for both SSAA and TTBB, and this recording is beautiful, but every one of them is women's choir... Maybe I can talk my school's men's choir into recording it!
The piece is only written for women. There is no sheet music for men, or parts written for men.
Molly Smith
Well, my high school choir performed it TTBB last year, and the part were marked "Soprano 1/Tenor 1" and such, so apparently it can be done. Unfortunately, UA-cam hates us and the video of it from our spring concert was removed. Oh, well, I guess I'll just have to become a choir director and make the men do it some day.
+Molly Smith No. NO. and NO. This is an Air Force related song and it was very much sung by males. and females. I was a member of the Keesler Choral and this was a staple song for us.
Michael Meissner I understand, there are few better things than hearing a male chorus. I am a freshman bass 2, and I'm proud to be one
I can't tell what they're saying
Look up the poem by the same name.
