Thanks! Well, I'm just being realistic there. No one wants to listen to me rambling for nearly 20 minutes, so you can just pick the stuff you want to see and then move on with your life. ;-)
*No tables were dragged in the production of this video. I think most people overlook the editing possibilities on the new MPC's so it's nice to see someone digging deep.
Been watching your MPC One content and I can see the difference in interface to the BlackBox and why you say this is better. Thanks for these reviews and examples.
Thanks! Blackbox is very small (a great + for travelling) and I didn't follow it's firmware update history, but I think it's gotten a lot better in the meantime. It's worth checking this before making a decision.
Thanks for watching! This is classic workstation stuff, but even the high end workstations are removing features every year - so it was nice to see Akai is rolling with it. Some more velocity layers would be highly welcome, though.
Really a great idea to make a track from keygroups. Now I must go out with my fieldrecorder to get nice sounding noice. Thank you for your tutorial. It is a very good inspiration for me.
They had them in the bargain bin around the video cameras for a while. I guess these were recorded in the 60s or 70s. Some if these ambient sounds have an astounding depth of field.
@@mr_floydst Back then they were not cheap at all, but at the time a good computer editing software/hardware cost you many thousand dollars... That it how technology goes!
It's the main reason I got one. Love that feature on the EX5, but EX5's SCSI is so slow it takes 20 minutes to load a full set oO - MPC One is similar, missing some filters and effects.
Great video man! But whats up with the sounds in the background? Are those sounds from the CDs or where you playing with some ASMR stuff? the shoes in the beginning seem to go from left ear to right ear, then later it sounds like some kids playing, then later it sounds like the intercom in a missle silo or something? lol
if your just starting out its great to use sample packs etc... I suggest using a synth you can make INIT sound patches from if you really want to create your own sound. Sample packs are a waste of time if you want to be creative from the start.
Hi, thanks for commenting! ... uhm, but this video is not about using sample packs. It's about turning everyday sounds into music using the filters, lfo, envelopes & stuff. :-)

Well, congratulations! ;-) I'm not sure if this is humorous / real / or not, but I know for sure Akai is a part of the inMusic group, an US american venture. But of course this device is built in China, so you're kind of right.
I'm almost 2 years with the MPC X and I came from the EMU E4XT Ultra, so I know my way around samplers, and I barely feel like I've scratched the surface.
And once again in english ;) If you want to export your song, just tap the "folder" icon on the upper left side of the screen, then tap "export". You can then save your complete song as a wav file (or your can export all tracks as individual wav files, for further work in another DAW!). But if you were looking for a way the arrange your patterns into a song, hit the "menu" button and then tap "song" on the screen. BTW the manual can be found here: www.akaipro.com/amfile/file/download/file/1009/product/8366/ I didn't read it entirely, but it's really helpful to look up things if you get stuck. Best regards / Viele Grüße! :-)
Hi, thanks for watching! Yes, it's possible. In fact, in any mode other than "drum pads" - so, keygroup, midi, plugins will treat the pads as a keyboard. Pressing the "bank" buttons will switch octaves.
How come when I make a looped sample in the sample edit page, the sample is showing up unlooped/none of my edits are there when I go into the program edit page?
Hi, thanks for watching! This happens if you assign a sample to your program first and then edit the loop in the sample editor. When you did that, just go to the sample selection page and shortly switch to another sample and then back - now your loop should be in place. It's a minor inconvenience they could easily fix... Perhaps file a bug report. :-)
Hi, thanks for watching. Yes you can do that with the stretch function but you will need to create more samples (for each layer you want too play longer or shorter). This will waste memory and on certain sounds, you'll hear the stretch effect as a "warble".
@@mr_floydst okay thanks… that seems like quite a bit of work. Maybe they’ll do something in the future addressing that. Thanks for getting back at me so fast ✌️
