      I was just searching for a footlocker with the two inserts. That's what I had at MCRD SD in 95. They are a lot harder to find than the sigla tray with divider.

    Awesome. I'm not sure, but originally they may have used an oil based paint. Kinda hard to find that at the local hardware, now. Not 100% on that, just something I've heard. It'd explain why you needed x5 cans... wood loves to soak that stuff up.

    I can spray paint the wood before installing the hardware, but do I have to apply gloss before or after that?

    • @NATHANBUILDS
      @NATHANBUILDS  3 роки тому +3

      I would add some sort of base coat if you're using soft plywood like I did. Then depending what style paint you're using you could either spray after to get a gloss finish or just go with whatever finish your paint was. I just didn't like the mat mine came in.

    • @NATHANBUILDS
      @NATHANBUILDS  3 роки тому +2

      Sure! The pine plywood I used really absorbed the paint so I had to do a ton of coats. I would probably apply some polyurethane or something first as a base coat so I could spray fewer coats.

      @@NATHANBUILDS That'll give her a nice salty look. A question if I may? If I build one out of cabinet grade 1/4 inch hardwood, do you think I could add strength by using finishing nails in addition to wood glue for joining? Or would that be overkill.
