☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
So obviously everybody is different. But when a three week window in my time table suddenly popped up at the beginning of November 2023 and my T7 already had been almost ready to go plus the weather seemed reasonably favourable I just went for it. It was autumn in Europe and it started to get cold. I needed to ride 1000 km from Vienna in Austria to Genoa in Italy. On the highway I reached altitudes of over 1000 metres. The windchill forced me to wear every piece of garment I brought. I was wearing waterproof socks on top of three regular socks. It started to rain heavily but my rain suit managed to keep me dry.
In Genoa I boarded a ferry that headed to Tanger, which is located at the very north of Marokko. I crossed a big part of the Mediterranean. As per usual on my expeditions I wanted to be able to sustain myself for a couple of days when I’m on the trails. This gave me the confidence to start exploring a new continent and even paths off the beaten track. Back in 2019 I had visited the city Marrakech as a regular airplane tourist but other than that Marocco and Africa in general were completely unknown to me. It has to be said though that I had been dreaming of riding my motorbike through this region for a long time. It took more than two days to reach Africa on the ferry and it was arduous I gotta say. My noise cancelling headphones and a lot of literature made things easier. Also you could use mobile data from time to time.
After entering the country I started to head south and wild camped on my first night already.
On my first real day in Morocco I took an extended break in the center of Chefchaouen the famous blue city. I had some tasty coffee and enjoyed the misty atmosphere. At this time in autumn it didn’t seem too overcrowded. I enjoyed it a lot. The shops had lots of nice gifts, but it seemed like a bad idea to add any more weight to my already full motorcycle bags. Because I had some time left in my day I decided on continuing further South.
It was unexpected to ride through cloudy and overcast weather in Africa, but the temperatures were much more pleasant than at home. The things you come across here are pretty unique though. What was I getting into?
I spotted a muddy track which headed in the right direction and followed it further South.
Time flew by and at sundown and I ended up being very close to the ancient city of Fes, nowadays the third biggest town of Marocco. I felt like having a shower and a proper meal so I booked a night at the Riad Damia and called it a night. One of the main rooms at ground floor was given to me and I slept under an ancient cedarwood ceiling. I had a very relaxing night.
The next day I entered the Ifrane national park which is famous for its ancient cedar forests.
I felt more alone than at any other point during my trip so far and temperatures were still pretty low.
It was beautiful riding though. It felt like I only shared the place with sheep and wild mountain monkeys.
And then suddenly the horizon changed.
The forest ended and gave way to a high plateau at over 1500m. At the city of Boumia I bought water, some meat, a big onion and potatoes. I ended up not using my groceries that night though. My petrol tank was filled up again. It started to get dark and the rain got heavier and heavier.
I reached the town of Imilichil, where I actually saw other adventure riders for the first time. Close to the town there is a beautiful blue alpine lake which I visited. That was one of the highest altitudes I reached at 2300 metres. I continued on my loop through the high Atlas on the famous R704 where the Col de Ouane pass peaked at 2900 metres. Close to the town of Ait Marghad in a valley at a somewhat lower altitude I made camp. At the evening I improvised my potatoes and beef in a curry and called it a day at sunet. This day of riding was one of the highlights of my trip.
In the morning I crossed the Atlas again and started to head East into the Todgha Gorge towards Tamatouche. The piste was slowly getting modernized but for me it was in ideal condition to warm up. Things are getting done in Morocco.
At a more quit place downstream I joined two Moroccan women, who were kind enough to lend me their washing bowl and washing powder for some much needed laundry. The scenery started to change dramatically. My first desert tracks were coming up.
I was heading East towards the city of Erfoud. At times I lost the track completely. On my way I passed two known structures where the German concept artist Hannsjörg Voth immortalized himself in the middle of nowhere.
I did not move from my chair for the entire video. I also ride alone and I know how beautiful but challenging it is. You're a legend! Safe travels!
Thanks man!! All the best for your travels!
What an adventure, Great video!
I did 14/14/14.
I returned from Morocco 14 days ago, I made 14 days on T700 as well. After my return back home I kept dreaming about driving bike on different terrains in Morocco for another 14 nights in row.
Wish to go back once again.
I totally understand!! It's soo cool to explore this multifaceted country!:)
The best Marocco moto adv movie so far.
Great music choise.
Well done.
Congrats
🙏
Well done!!! I go there next year! Thx for maps sharing!
What a great adventure, even just to watch! beautifully edited
Absolutely brilliant, it's great to see another one of your videos. I think that's your best one so far :)
What an awesome adventure! Great choice of music too!
Thanks for sharing, excellent.
That was some trip .
Thanks:)
Super Film. Besten Dank fürs teilen. Marokko ist immer eine Reise wert. Beim 2 Versuch wird es bestimmt weniger hart.
Excellent video, footage and music, well done on your epic adventure, hope the shoulder is healing up well.....
Thanks:) the shoulder is slowly getting better..
Habera!
Brooo, the vibes at 1:03:21 , mind blowing! I can only think of me doing that! Ahahah
I was also in Morocco last year and this gives me the itch to go back! fantastic video Thanks for the good work🥳🇲🇦
Fantastic job on the editing 👍
Thanks for sharing.
Great trip! Thanks for sharing. The longest trip to date cor me has been 4 days but covered over 1300. Miles on a small dual sport on dirt and gravel.
This was a great watch! Thanks for posting.
Myself and a mate are booked for 2 weeks in March. First time. You've made me so excited!
Cheers 👍🏻
Great story! I enjoyed every minute of it!
Na seavas, Du bist scho a wilder Hund. Respekt!
Gruß Christian🤙
✌
As always, your videos are so great. Also your way to travel and your actitude. I own for many years a Suzuki Dr650 and go to Moroco once. This year I'll go with T7. Good to know gowing down pressures to 1.5. Always a pleasure to see your videos. THNKS
Thank you! 1.5 is still pretty high.. but I wanted to avoid tire creep
great video and great music as always! thanks for sharing
well done and fair play to you
This was absolutely amazing. Also, dogs are the best! :)
Supppppprrrrr!!!
Very cool trip! 😉
Very cool movie! 👍
Top.
Du bist offroad ganz schön flott unterwegs gewesen.
Cheers from Munich
Danke!
the trip is realy good enjying and the choice of music is to awsome 😄😁
Thanks:)
Loved coming across this (long-time subscriber - still on my DR 650 riding the rimlands and desert backcountry of southern Africa). i've always enjoyed your soundtracks and your sparse , understated yet insightful commentary.
Your visuals in this piece are stunning - commensurate with the landscape. Since you are a reader, and responsive to desert travel i recommend you read Wilfred Thesiger's ARABIAN SANDS - his account of traveling in the Empty Quater in the late 1940's ...
Thank you!! I will look into your recommendation:)
Amazing stroytelling skills! Amazing music - chasing Tinariwen, Tamikrest and Imarhan brought me to Morocco 3 years ago. Did a month in a campervan. Plan is to roam it again on my ktm 690. Can you tell us the camera gear, tires model - mitas c21? Have you recorded gpx tracks of yoyr trip? Thank you!
Hello! Thanks for your kind reply! I used a Samsung s21 and a GoPro Hero 5 Session. Tyres were Mitas c21 and Dunlop D908RR. You can find a link to my route in the video description. All the best!
What a trip! Awesome!! Do you have the GPX files of your trip? I'm planning on going in a few months. It would be nice to hit some of the places from your video.
Safe miles! And keep up the great videos!

@@ATasteofFreedom Thanks so much! This helps me out! Much appreciated 👏
Hello, thanks for sharing, a good scare in the accident, thank goodness everything went well, good music in your videos, I love it, do you have the fork and shock as standard, or do you have some modifications? Best regards, Toni
Thanks for your reply!:) i was on the standard setup. I recently invested in an öhlins upgrade front and rear. I did it for safety and it makes a big difference. I'm going to make a T7 update video in the future..All the best!
🇲🇦♥️💯✌🏻
Aber each to his own still.
Hey, please share if you can, the route of your trip. Thanks.

wow sehr cool und flott unterwegs :-) Für welche Reifen hast Du dich entschieden?
Danke! Mitas C21 und D908RR
Man truly enjoyed this, well done. I HAVE to visit those places at some point. Did you have GPX tracks to follow or went exploring all the time? Thanks
Thanks:) I had many wikiloc tracks and just explored..
thanks @@ATasteofFreedom
Great experience! In April I'm going alone to Morocco, doing almost what you did but not going too much south, what are the tires you used?
Thanks! Mitas C21 and D908RR
Lovely video. Thank you. How did you research the beautiful off road routes that you took?
Spinning away on that desert ride 👌👌👌
Thanks!! I had lots of wikiloc-trails on my phone with an offline map and just used my gut feeling..
Amazing trip ! so diversified country...
Have you kept track of you trip ? how many km/day on average ? would you kindly share your track ?
Cheers !
Thanks! There you go www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1gLE3cVAqnDFf6oWflcGJJ5csbj0FYVk&usp=sharing
Awesomeness 🤩 Was there 2 weeks in October last year. Which tires did u use on the T7? The accident happend on the Merzouga-Zagora track? Being alone is very intense.
Yes it happened close to the Algerian military checkpoint.. mitas C21 and D908RR
All the best!!
What tyres did you have?
Great effort, 👍 . I'm wondering why u didn't use stabilisation for ur videos..
Because it uses so much battery.. maybe I use it next time!
great trip, quite brave I must save alone on heavy bike in the dunes :) BTW how was the Genua-Tanger ferry experience? long and boring?
Yes long and boring haha
nice trip! is there a way use your map for navigation? don't see any "direction" there
U need to download the tracks. Then you can use them in a navigation device or a third party app like osmand or maps.me Google navigation like this is not possible I think.
Great video, what tyres you running?
Is see Mitas C21!!
and D908RR in the rear
Grazie mille
The marked route is just thin, the my-maps link works though..
Mega Trip 👌
What device do you use for navigation?
I used my Samsung Galaxy S21 plus
Noch eine frage. 😊.
What tires do you use?
Mitas c21 and d909rr
Hey, where is the place at the 37:30 ? the place with the big wall and the amazing view ?
maps.app.goo.gl/LgkxkRLFvQPXEqai7
@@ATasteofFreedom Thank you !!
Hmmmm... This link points to a place in Madeira 😮
You made the wrong choice of tires. These tires are not suitable for sand.
Do you have recommendations for travels of this type? All the best!
