Hi there, here is a video on how to replace the filter on a HRV ventilation system and reset the control panel. When working in the ceiling don't forget to wear a dust mask and turn the HRV off at the control panel before starting the job. Thanks 😊
@@geoffrollinson2835 Hey thanks for the comment, I have found this online. LED Control panel 1. Turn off Panel 2. Hold func button down Give that a try, let me know how you go as I have these instructions in the comments also and will be good to make sure they are correct 😊
Many thanks for the video. Easy to understand and allows anyone be able to save a few dollars. Will recommend your video to others that would like easy instructions, easy paced, and very worth a watch. Cheers!
Hi there good to hear the video was useful thanks for the comment. Unfortunately I don't have a complete code manual for this panel, and I have found nothing on the internet either. Thanks for watching 🙂
Hey Henry, is this the new touch screen panel? Has it randomly stopped working or was it working prior? You may have a setup similar to mine in the ceiling space where mine was plugged into a power socket (in the video i unplugged mine while working in the ceiling), perhaps the socket has been unplugged from the socket. Another possibility that the plug into the pack of the control unit or one running to HRV is loose or has come unplugged check those out. hope that helps
@@HenryKillian I don't think the touch screen panel will turn off if the filter needs replacing, but ill do some research and see. I am sure it will just be a warning light for filter change.
I've done some digging on the internet, the new control panels don't shut off if the filter needs changing but will just indicate that they need to be changed. So check in the ceiling incase you have a power socket like mine that is loose, and also check the plug to the back of the controller and the HRV in ceiling (plug looks like a phone plug)
Thank you for the video. I successfully reset the unit. however, my unit has a master unit and a slave unit. After reset, the slave unit was not functioning. I wonder the parameter you did for the control panel has anything to do with the activation of the slave unit. It will be much appreciated if you can provide assistance to it. Thank you.
Thanks for watching and appreciate the comment. Hmmm I haven't heard of that one with the slave unit not functioning after a reset. I wonder can you confirm the slave unit isn't going by listening to it in the ceiling as I wonder if its possible the replacement filter has stopped or majorly reduced the flow in that box perhaps?
Hi, do you have a wiring diagram to the fan in the filter box? Mine has shorted a number of wires and I can't determine which wires to reconnect. Thanks
Hi there, no I don't unfortunately. I'm not sure if this link is of any help but if your unit is the same as mine you can just see some of the wires in the picture www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=141&topicid=272958 . I will be changing the filter in my HRV this winter so could get a picture then if you need? Cheers
Hey no i dont, typically i have only needed to reset the filter light. There is a winter and summer mode which you can find instructions online for, but I have found limited information online for other panel features.
Hi while mucking around doing an electrical job adjacent to the controller I managed to make the controller upset and beep angrilly. I unplugged the controller and when i plugged it back in the thing seems to be ok but temps are now in fahrenheit. do you know how to change this back? same controller as featured in the video. if you knew where one could find the installers manual for this thing i'd be very grateful.
I will have a hunt on the internet as I don't know off hand unfortunately and the HRV guide found online isn't much help. Hopefully someone else who sees this comment maybe able to help too. 🙂
Hi Raymond, the tape in this video was supplied with the filter, however the tape was exactly the same as grey duct tape, so you could easily just use that instead. Thanks for the question, glad you found the video helpful. Oh and nearly forgot, no I don't think the number setting its critical but you may as well apply that setting that they have told you. Take care 🙂
Hi, I’ve just installed a second hand hrv system with a LED screen ( so old one). I had to cut the cable to get it down the wall. I did reconnect it. But now it doesn’t seem to be working. When I open the control box in the ceiling, there is a red led flashing “led1”. Do you know what’s wrong? Cheers Flo
Hi Florent, sorry for the late reply. Look to be honest I don't know. I wonder if you have made sure that the cable wires to the control module is the correct way around when reattaching the cut cable together, and there is a filter fitted? Maybe make sure no wires have pulled in the plugs at both ends could be something to check also.
Hi, I have exactly the same unit in my house, I try to changed the filter myself to save some dollars but now it is not turning on, it is making a ticking noise only that comes out form the box, what do you think is wrong? pls help 😢 Thank You
Hi there, If it was me I would first check that nothing is stuck in the motor\fan, eg bit of old tape or something that has sucked its way to the motor\fan when you lowered the box to replace filter. Make sure power is off to HRV, remove filter, check nothing is stuck in the intake side of fan (round hole on outside of box that air sucks in), check nothing is stuck on the blower side of fan (fan blades inside the box) check if fan still spins free by turning it by hand, get someone to turn panel on for a short time and just check motor\fan spins fine under power and power off, and re fit filter. Hopefully that helps.

@@MannixGarage I have to call the HRV technician to come and checked the unit after all because I wasnt able to get it going again, and sadly , the technician says its the motor that is faulty and it is not worth repairing because it is a 2009 model, she recommend for an upgrade. I do not really want to upgrade right now cos budget is tight. I was thinking of leaving it as is, because I think the house is pretty dry , some condensation on the windows early in the morning but that is because its winter, there is no sign of moulds or any damp area in every corner of my house. 'What do you think?
@@westtessvlog4211 I think HRV charge a lot of money for a new unit. I have done a search on google and found a seller on Trademe telfer88 sells a genuine motor fan replacement for HRV. Depending where you are located you could message them and see if they could fit it for you, or if you are comfortable removing the galvanized box (if the power isn't hard wired in, plug in only) see if you can send him the unit to fit and test? In the meantime if you have no condensation over winter just leave it for now is a good idea. 🙂 Our unit is a older one too so I cant do a motor replacement video until it fails.
Hey I guess you can remove filter and vacuum the HRV filter, but if you are going to the trouble of removing it I would just replace it. Thanks for watching 👍🙂
Hi there, Just watch your video and have compared to another on exactly the same system. Where you hit power button to change setting to "90", the other gentleman suggests the setting be "10". My question is - what is this setting for? and any idea why the two of you offer different ranges? see other video here - ua-cam.com/video/Wvwp8vX3_pY/v-deo.html. Regards, Phil
Hi Phil, good question, I purchased the filter from www.filterspecialists.co.nz/ . There instructions are below for HRV LCD panel but note "Press the power button to increase the 0 to 9", there is no 9 but panel steps in increments of 10 therefore I have put in 90. Also there is not much on the internet on the particular settings, but my guess the settings are just to set the timer for the filter light. TURNING OFF THE HRV FILTER CHANGE LIGHT #2 Switch off at the control panel Hold the “down” button for 8 seconds It will beep after about 3 seconds, but keep it pressed for the full 8 seconds 02 is displayed in the roof Press the “up” button to increase 02 to 22 (not holding it down, short pushes) Below the 22 you will see a 0 Press the power button to increase the 0 to 9 Push the Function button to save settings
Muppets who installed my janus unit tied the straps at both ends. A real pain to untie that strap. Might have to cut the shortest knot off and sacrifice a few inches to to change the filter.
