finally, a top 4K list that includes the Truman show. Bravo. Not sure why this is overlooked and so glad you added it in your list. Great channel, well spoken and appreciate your views.
Hi friend and thank you so much for the very kind words. I'm with you and I really did enjoy the nice upgrade on the Truman Show. I'm not sure how it escaped so many lists either because I thought it was a significant improvement. Thanks so much for checking out the video and I'm so happy you're enjoying the channel. Best to you. 🙂👋👋
Merry Christmas! Thanks for this great list. Truman Show was my family's first DVD back in 1997, and now it comes full circle as I upgrade to the Truman Show UHD. Such a timeless film.
Merry Christmas to you, friend. I love The Truman Show and I still have my DVD. You're right; it's such a timeless movie. Thanks so much for checking out the video and I hope you're having a wonderful weekend. 🎄👋👋
Hey Jason. I'm glad you enjoyed the picks and thank you so much for watching. I hope you're having a wonderful and relaxing weekend and all is well with you. Thanks for being here 😃👋👋
Hey, I hear you and you're not being a snob at all. These things are available to us so why not enjoy it, right?? I love watching movies in my basement because I have the full Atmos setup and what an experience. My living room isn't the full 7.1 setup but the dogs like to sit with me in the recliner so how can I say no to that, right?? 😂😂 Thanks so much for watching and hope you're having a wonderful weekend. 👋👋
I would certainly agree with all the movies on your list that I have seen- I didn't pick up any of the horror tiles, Barbie or The Color Purple, though I'll probably get those last two now. I just got The Warriors 4K (Which Arrow saw fit to ship with virtually no protection so, of course, of course the box arrived damaged) and it is up there on my list considering it's age and that so much of it is outdoors at night. I may just have to give up on the special artwork and buy all future Arrow products from Diabolik or Orbit. I'm 0-for-2 with limited editions straight from Arrow. What's the point? But enough of my bitching! I want to thank you for getting back into making videos regularly this year. You do such a great job and you make me aware of so many great films that I might never know about without you.
Hi Steve and thank you so much for the very kind words. I've been so happy getting back to a regular schedule and having the opportunity to interact with everyone in the chat. I'm really excited for my 2024 plans for the channel, too. The Color Purple is such a great movie, tough watch at times, but definitely an important look at the time period. Barbie is gorgeous on 4K but will definitely depend on your own taste as to if you like the content of the movie itself. Arrow has definitely dropped the ball this year on shipping. I know a lot of the Bruce Lee sets were a mess. I'm go through Orbit or DiabolikDVD and have had no issues. I just got The Warriors from Orbit so that might be on deck for today. Thanks so much for watching and all the support you give. It never goes unnoticed and is very much appreciated. Enjoy the weekend and watch lots of movies. Wags from Pickle. 👋👋🐶😃
Hi Stephanie. Great list! I just got Fargo on Blu-ray but looks I need to upgrade based on your recommendation. 😀 I picked up Training Day on 4K when it was on sale this year. That City of the Living Dead release is really good too. So many amazing film releases this year. Thanks for sharing your favorites. Love the Krampus shirt too - I'm sure we will be talking about in on today's livestream. Chat soon 😀❄🥶🎄🥸
Hey Dave. Well, we've chatted about Krampus. I'm happy you watched it and I'm glad you didn't hate it. I get not wanting to mix holidays; I think that's pretty common, actually. You'll love the 4K of Fargo, it's flawless. So many great releases this year. Although I was thinking it was definitely a big year for re-releases more than new. Possibly a Breaking News segment?? (Insert sound) Thanks so much for watching. 🥸🚶♂️🥶🥧🥧⛹️🏻♂️⛹️🏻♂️🏀🏀🎁🎄🎄
great selection - my own honourable selections (some of these may be only be UK 4ks) - -The Naked Lunch - 4k has plenty of popping colours of all the grotesque monsters. - Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - 4k is great upgrade over the old blu ray - the psychedelic colours really come to life. - The shiver of the vampires - 4k brings out the directors intentions and vision.
Hi friend and thanks for adding your picks to the list. I do have the new release of Naked Lunch so you just moved that to the top of my watch pile. I need to get on Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas. I don't have the 4K yet. I'll had to check out The Shiver Of The Vampires (I'm currently watching vampire movies for an upcoming segment). Thanks so much for watching and the great recommendations. 👋👋😃
Thanks friend. I need to catch up on a few movies, Prey being one. Did they put out a new 4K of Ringu?? I must have missed that. I have a review copy of Titanic. I thought it looked really nice overall, just a few waxy moments on the faces in a few spots but I've heard it's an issue with the source material. Solid otherwise and definitely could and will make many lists. Thanks so much for watching and for adding your picks to the list. I really do appreciate it. 👋👋😃
@MovieChatter01 Titanic did have a few waxy moments, but as you said it was the source material. Ringu got a great release from Arrow this year. If it wasn't for a couple DNR moments, Picnic at Hanging Rock from Second Sight would have topped my list.
Merry Christmas to you, friend. I think Pulp Fiction is an impeccable transfer and had it been released in 2023, would have been right up at the top of favorites. It's really well done, colors pop, grain is even and light. Also everything is very natural looking. I'm really hoping we get all of QT's filmography on 4K very soon. Hope this helps if you were thinking of picking it up. Definitely a great pick. Thanks so much for watching. 😃👋👋🎄
Hey Colette. How about that? And we didn't even plan it. 😂😂 The Duel 4 K really exceeded my expectations. There were so many great releases/upgrades this year. I'm almost afraid to see what 2024 brings. 😂💸💸💸 Thanks so much for watching and I hope you're having a wonderful holiday weekend. 👋👋
Krampus! I still need to check out Spider-Man: Across the Universe. I really enjoyed the first film. Ryan Gosling and Michael Cera have me rolling every time they are on the screen in Barbie. All Quiet on the Western front is so stunning! Thank you for telling me I should pick up the 4K. So incredible! I love Tim Burton’s aesthetics and am embarrassed to say that I have never seen The Nightmare Before Christmas. Great video Stephanie!
Hey Jon. Thanks for checking out the video. I think you'll enjoy Across The Universe. It was definitely a lot of fun and if you liked the first one, you'll really like this one. Oh I know. Ryan Gosling and Michael Cera were good in Barbie. I just really enjoyed the movie overall (politics aside). I'm a huge Greta Gerwig fan and I'm pretty sure she's the only one who could get me to watch a Barbie movie. 🤣🤣🤣 Hope you're having a wonderful weekend and Merry Christmas to you and yours. You're the best, my friend. 👋👋🎄🎅🏻
Hey Dell. Sorry about the wallet 💸💸💸 but I'm happy you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching and I hope you're having a wonderful holiday weekend with the family. 👋👋😃
the best 4k transfers ive seen is from blue underground.....the new york ripper, vigilante and the toolbox murders were so beautiful that i watched all of them 2 times back to back because of how gorgeous they looked.
Hey friend. I love Blue Underground; everything they do is amazing. Were those titles you mentioned from 2023? I didn't think they released anything but Uncle Sam this year. I could very easily be wrong but let me know if I missed something. Thanks so much for watching and adding your picks to the list. 👋👋😃
I can honestly say, that All Quiet on the Western Front, left a permanent mark on me. The heartbreak of seeing young, healthy men, being conned into walking into a meat grinder, is sickening. The millions of lives destroyed, the families that will never be. I don’t think I can ever watch this film again, but I very highly recommend it to everyone. No film, demonstrates the complete, utter *pointlessness* of brother wars, quite like this film. Powerful, painful and unforgettable.
I understand how you feel about that and absolutely respect it. I know many had a similar feeling about Come And See. So many films about war have these affects on viewers. It can be traumatizing to witness the pointless horrors. Thank you so much for watching the video. 😃
Thank you, friend. I just ordered The Creator based on your recommendation. I've been looking at it but hadn't heard much feedback yet. I'm looking forward to checking it out. Thanks so much for watching and for the movie recommendation. 😃👋👋
Christmas is about to come and my birthday is Also coming next year so I’m getting all surprises movies from my subs and fan mail and my family my dad.
Yay!! When is your birthday? I'll have to wish you a Happy Birthday in one of the videos. 🎂🎂🎂🥳🥳 I hope you get everything you want for Christmas and your birthday.
I probably have 400 blue rays, bunch of 4ks. The Blu Ray I have for Nightmare Before Christmas is the best Blue ray I own. Crystal clear. So, maybe a slight colour improvement on 4k, I’m good with the Blu Ray.
Hi friend. I get it and I'm all about watching whatever works for you. The majority of my collection is, and will always be, Blu-ray. No need to upgrade if it's not something you feel is necessary. Nightmare was just one that I watched and stood out as a favorite and because people requested my favorite 4Ks, I wanted to include it. Plus, I love the movie. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I really do appreciate it. 😃👋👋
GREAT LIST! I would’ve chosen like 90 % of the ones that you’ve mentioned. I’d add “The fugitive” from Warner Bros. One of the best 4K transfers ever of a 90’s film. And the best 4K of the year it’s Oppenheimer in my opinion, but I think that we all saw that coming. Nolan is very picky when it comes to his movies in physical media and he always give us state of the art stuff. Of course, the movie helps. It’s just a stunning picture. Thanks, amazing video. You’ve earned a new subscriber.
Hi and welcome to the channel. I'm so happy you found us and decided to hang out. I'm so happy you mentioned The Fugitive because it's one I recently grabbed but haven't had a minute to watch. It's at the top of the watch pile now. I'm with you on Nolan; just so good at what he does and such a supporter of the physical media platform. Thanks so much for watching and again, welcome. Enjoy the holidays. 😃👋👋
Merry Christmas to you as well. 🎄🎄 I totally get it and I'm with you; I love the Blu-ray format and think it's the tried and true. This is a list that many people asked for all these are just my picks for favorite 4Ks I've seen. I'm all about whatever works for you. Some folks like DVDs, VHS, Blu-ray, 4K or a mixed bag. I have a mix of DVD, lots of Blu-rays and some 4ks. Watch what makes you happy. Thanks for checking out the video and enjoy the holiday weekend. 😃👋👋
My heartbreak at buying Avatar "ultimate edition" only for them to do a "Collectors edition" with Dolby Vision and the extended cut which has all the character development they miss out on.
Ugh. I get it and the studios do this all the time, sadly. It's tough to know if we should jump on the initial release because sometimes that's all we get and if it sells out, we're out of luck. Other times, this scene happens. Sorry you were disappointed. Thanks so much for watching and hope you're having a great holiday season. 👋👋😃
@@MovieChatter01I know. I guess I'll be trading in my copy and buying it again. Great video mate, keep them going :-) Merry Christmas from West Yorkshire, England.
