Someone asked about the Halloween Box behind me. They're custom made by a seller on Etsy. He's on vacation right now but he'll do all different movies so definitely check out his store. www.etsy.com/shop/BlockBusterBoxsets
Love and Mercy is a great film! As is Chef! 2014 had 3 amazing movies release that year: Chef, The 100 Foot Journey and Million Dollar Arm. You have another great t-shirt choice too. Thank you for the vid, I dont have some of your recommendations The Way Way Back is another fun summertime movie, I return to it every year
You're so right about Taking Woodstock. Terrific film! The biopic Love and Mercy sounds wonderful. And I can't believe I've NEVER seen The Pride of the Yankees!!!
Hi friend and thank you for the kind words. That box behind me is a custom box made by a guy on Etsy to hold all the Scream Factory Halloween 4K editions (with the slips). You get to pick a few images for, I think, 2 sides of the box. I'll look him up and pin the comment at the top of the video comment section. Thanks for watching. 😀
Hi friend. My friend visited New Zealand and said it was the most gorgeous place she'd ever been. 😀 Thank you so much for the very kind comment and for checking out the video. Stay warm!! 😀👋👋
One of my favorite summer movies has yet to be released on Blu-ray: Summer Rental (1985) starring John Candy, absolutely mysterious that it hasn't been released yet. A fun kid's movie: Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: Dog Days (2012), I never read the books but love all 3 of these movies with this cast.
I enjoyed your list, but personally, I could never make a summer movie list without putting The Bad News Bears at the top of that list. Another great video, thanks for sharing some of your favorites!
Even though the American Graffiti is set in 1962, Wolfman Jack was still a popular radio DJ when I saw it as a kid a during a mid-70s theatrical reissue. His scenes were weird to me because it was my first time seeing a real life personality playing themself in a movie. Even though his radio voice was well known, most had not seen his face. It was sort of a revelation. Also, the melting popsicles stuff was pleasantly random.
Hi friend. Such a great and, I think, underrated movie in so happy that Imprint decided to give it a proper release. Blake Lively was just such a terrible person in this one but in the best way. Thanks so much for checking out the video. 🙂👋👋
Chef is great! Booksmart is hilarious! My Summer of Love has been on my radar for quite some time. The Sandlot is classic. Never gets old. I'd say it's my fave summer flick ever, along with Stand By Me. Great recs Stephanie!
I have only heard amazing things about Chef. Love & Mercy is outstanding! The Pride of the Yankees is such a great film and Cooper gives an incredible performance. How that film doesn’t have a Blu-ray release blows my mind. I like the Pirates of the Caribbean films, especially the first one. This video is a great movie resource for the summer. Thanks for making this video Stephanie!
Hi friend. That's great!! I love that movie so much. It just makes me hungry. 😂😂😂 I think it's one that I can watch any time anywhere. I'm so happy you enjoyed it. Thanks so much for watching the video. 🙂👋👋
The Gary Cooper movie is so famous it is even referenced in Ozu's "Late Spring," a personal favorite of mine, so I'll have to go ahead and give that one a watch. This is a good list, Movie Chatter.
Hi friend and I'm happy you enjoyed the movie picks. I love Pride Of The Yankees and it deserves so much more love from American audiences. I have seen Late Spring many times, how did I not catch the reference?!?! I'll have to give it another look and thanks for the bit of trivia. Thanks so much for being here and watching, I really do appreciate it. 😀👋👋
Hey Stephanie, such wonderful movies you recommended! I am definitely checking the ones I haven't seen, by the way, such beautiful editions on physical media for us collectors, that is a very important factor. Oh the POTC movies , such a treat, you are so right, I think we were spoiled with those movies . Thank you for another great video. Take care friend !
Hi friend and thanks so much. I'm so happy you enjoyed the picks for Summer Movies. I tried to mix it up a bit instead of going with the regulars that we all love. There are so many summer themed movies available if you poke around. You're so right about POTC. I love the franchise and I'm so sad to see Captain Jack (Johnny Depp) go. But I don't blame him; they treated him terribly. Thanks so much for checking out the video and I hope all is well with you. 😀👋👋
@@MovieChatter01 Oh My gosh, they treated dear Johnny Depp so badly, that's why ... Not even for 300 million dollars and one million alpacas... Always my pleasure to check your great channel Stephanie, thank you again and take care !!!
Great suggestions! Particularly Dog Day Afternoon. I haven't seen that in so long. Time for a rewatch. Here are a few from my collection that I would recommend (some are popular, some are a little off the beaten track): White Water Summer - Back when cable existed this was on all the time and my sister and I would always stop and watch this. It's dumb fun with thriller trappings, but we love it. Indian Summer Bless The Beasts & The Children Deliverance Bad News Bears Corvette Summer Die Hard With A Vengeance The Natural A League of Their Own Brighton Beach Memoirs I have a ton of horror movie suggestions, but I will save those for your next video.
I just bought Kings of Summer on Fandango at Home for $5. I think the sale ends overnight if anyone is interested. So many great sounding movies here. I'll catch a few of them as soon as this vertigo eases up a bit. Thanks for the suggestions. You rule!
Hi Steve. Oh no, vertigo?!?! That's the worst and I'm sorry you're dealing with that. Thanks so much for the Fandango info; that's great to know it's available. I'm glad you are interested in some of the movies I shared and I hope you feel better soon so you can enjoy some movie time. Thanks so much for being here. You're the best. 😊
Some good picks Steph, many I'll have to check out as time allows. I thought of a few: Meatballs with Bill Murray, me and my brother used to go to summer camp, so that movie seemed right down my alley. Rear Window by Hitchcock, I seem to remember it was in the warmer weather as Jimmy Stewart complained about the heat, and had his windows open viewing in the the room across the way. Roxanne with Steve Martin and Daryl Hannah, nice romantic comedy. A recent one for me and recommendable was Apollo 10 1/2, taking place during the moon landing and events around it. Looking forward to summer horror.
Hey there Stephanie!👋 Happy Memorial Day to you and the "teacher of the year"!👩🏫👩❤️👩 I am all about "Woodstock"!☮️ Love the music, and I so wish I could've been there and experience that huge moment in music history!🎸🎶 You are so right about "The Pride of the Yankees" deserving a Blu-ray release!⚾ I do believe the studios & companies are watching, so if movie UA-camrs (such as yourself 😉) continue to talk about it, I believe it will happen! After all, look at what has happened this year with all the "chatter" about "True lies", "The Abyss", and "Little Darlings"..They all received their well deserved Blu-ray releases, and I truly believe it's because of all the videos made and UA-camrs talking about them!👍 Another movie starring Kristy McNichol, that you may enjoy for summer is "The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia" (1981).. Unfortunately though, I don't believe it has had a Blu-Ray release yet!☹️ But you can find it on DVD📀... I was waiting and waiting, and then FINALLY you mentioned "American Graffiti"! For me, that is the ultimate summer film!🏖️🌄 Great movie...Great Soundtrack...What else could you want in a summer film, right?😁 Lastly, one film you didn't mention that you should check out if you haven't seen it is the film "The Blue Lagoon" starring Brooke Shields and Christopher Atkins. It came out in the Summer of 1980, costed $4.5 million to make, and ended up with almost $60 million at the box office (which I'm sure would be well over $100 million today💰).. It's a bit controversial because it's a coming of age story of two cousins that fell in love💕.. It's not perfect, but still enjoyable, and hoping you can check it out and possibly do a review on it someday!🎥 Hint! Hint!🤣 Enjoy your pizza and watching "Booksmart" tonight, and I'll chat with you again real soon! Let the good movies play on, and take care! Ms. Elizabeth 📺📼📀📺📼📀 P.S. Bring born, bred and still living in Long Beach, California, I'm a humongous fan of our local heroes The Beach Boys, so I will definitely be checking that documentary out! Thank you for the recommendation!!👍🙏 Also, have you seen the new 2024 documentary simply titled "The Beach Boys" that's currently new and just started streaming on the Disney channel? I'll be checking it out this coming weekend for sure! Bye for now!🌅🩳☀️🏄👙🎣🩴
I forgot about Pride of the Yankees. That doesn’t have a Blu-ray yet?! If it gets does get an upgrade, I will step up to the microphone and announce that today (today… today…) is the greatest (greatest… greatest…) day of my life (life… life… life). 😂
adventureland was a decent movie. to me, it sort of Dazed and Confused in the 80's. I know there was a spiritual sucesser to dazed and confused called Everybody want some but that one was kind of bland. sandlot is a fun movie. stand by me is a classic POTC 1, 2, and 3 was great, 4 was a bit slow and boring to the point that I didn't finished watching it, 5 was when things was fun again. to me, one crazy summer is a fun movie worth checking out Caddyshack is a fun comedy Meatballs is a cool summer camp movie and meatball 2 despite not having a original cast in it. it take place in a different camp with different cast of characters but it pretty best of the 3 sequels. the original Bad News Bears not the remake is worth watching. of course my personal favorite is Dazed and Confused. fun cast, great music. what not to like?
What a great selection of movies. I think 🤔 some are either out of print or they going nuts with close to $30 for Blu-ray ❓ I did put a lot on my wish list. 😎👍Stay cool
