      To be honest, as sad as it is, it does seem accurate as far as how the general public talks about politics. Not very informed voters, over emotional, overuse of talking points, ad hominem attacks over sticking to substance. It’s very evident in part 1 - where the people who raised their hands (because they felt “confident” enough to talk about each prompt) weren’t actually well versed at all.
      There definitely were a handful of exceptions, but for the most part, I think they do represent the majority of voters. Ignorant, arrogant & hostile. 😢

    Why is Jubilee using specific re-occuring members in order to show radical division? The real world doesn't talk or act like that. I'm a republican and I love debating, but I can honestly say that every Democrat I've debated in person has been awesome to talk to. Just because we have different beliefs doesn't mean we automatically have to throw insults like Jubilee is promoting.
    This is how you divide the country to the point of violence. By only showing the most violent people of each side.

And it’s not like years apart when she changes her opinions. It’s in short periods of time that she completely contradicts herself based on whatever audience she has.
      For example, she says “how dare anyone say ‘merry Christmas’” then like a month later she unironically says merry Christmas. And there’s just tons like that. She says something about the border, then immediately contradicts it.

      Exactly and ESL classes are free at many community colleges nationwide for adults, kids learn English for free in public schools. The citizenship test is offered in several languages, and there are even waivers for the civics test if the applicant meets the criteria.

Rarely people ever vote because everything, literally everything, their party says is gospel for them. They vote because that side aligns with them more. Could be a simple value but it just means that much more. That's why you should vote so while still a lose lose situation, you're losing less. Take either candidate for example. He could yap all day, but if he just says one thing you resonate with immensly, that alone could mean everything to you. Don't mistake that for the batshit crazy cult-like behavior though. This is sadly the reality of this voting.

    My parents are also immigrants from Asia. We are Vietnamese Americans; they have broken English and had to take the Civics Test in English, but they never complained about learning English to become citizens. In fact, they're proud. Whenever they travel internationally, they always show off their US Passports so that other people can see they're Americans.

      I've seen an instance of some not going through with their citizenship but due to being permanent residents, but immigrants coming into the country should get citizenships to reap the benefits of being a US citizen..and most of them understand that fact. Asians also are culturally ingrained that hard work is virtuous..so they tend to do quite well in the US.

      Fr I loved her. Her mindset was profoundly self aware and empathetic.
      If you are actually listening to anyone from any side, with enough time and consideration, you will probably find valid reasons for their beliefs. This is why I find trained debaters to be insufferable to watch. They don’t communicate to connect on an emotional level. They communicate as a means of tricking one to feel inferior and less intelligent so that you must submit. Its toxic. And once you become aware of this, you start to realize that 90% of the political sphere is a narcissistic game.

      I’m Filipino and a Republican and always am grateful for having been naturalized citizen which is the legal way. She lies because 99% of Filipinos are literate and can understand written and spoken English. We were under America under a commonwealth agreement between our two countries before we became independent in 1896. It’s a pity she plays the victim card in a country that gave her so much opportunities to achieve the American dream.

One person mentioned something about immigrants, but how does risking your life to flee to another country answer the question? It can't be always because America hasn't always been friendly to immigrants (legal or illegal). So what time period is she referring to? Another guy just names some legislation and the history of some racist groups in America (KKK). He did not answer when it was great, and he certainly never answered if he would go back to that time period. So, no. No one answered the question. But if I missed something, then please correct me

    Gabby, Filipino's already speak English, they start learning it in school at an early age... my wife is from Ph and her whole family is fluent in English and they're not rich or anything.       To be fair, just because you learn it as 2nd language in school doesn't mean you speak it. I know plenty people from first hand experience that had english since 3rd grade and can barely say hello in english. There's also a difference between official and national language and one doesn't automatically mean the other. One of my better friends is filipino and he's my age. His english is fluent. His parents which are at least 60+ do in fact not speak a single english word. Nowadays more people speak english definitely, but people gotta stop assuming how it was DECADES before our time.

I learnt russian to b2, japanese to b1 and mandarin to a2 just for the sake of tourism and you're telling me someone who loves a country that much that they decided to upend their entire life and move there is incapable of learning the language of that country. utter nonsense.

      Not all Filipinos aren’t fluent in English or even know some English. My one Filipino friend moved here when she was just a pre teen while her family didn’t know much English. That friend of mine had to take years of ESOL.

We were not rich! My parents took the test and passed it to become a citizen, so IDK what her point was.     Filipino person talking about her parents not knowing English is crazy. Nearly EVERYONE in the major areas of the philippines KNOWS ENGLISH!! It's taught as the second native language in the country!!!!

      She’s has no clue and makes excuses for not studying… my mother took that test knowing little to none English and passed. Guess who helped her ME on the kitchen table going back and forth with her while I was in elementary. My elderly grandparents took the test and passed it themselves also from Mexico. Bunch of excuses

      Some Swedish people don't speak English. It's the same in many other countries. Sometimes, people just don't know English, even if their country does have a lot of people who do.
