I loved how, in the last video, there was an attorney on the democratic side ready to debate abortion and the legal history surrounding it and everybody else was like nah let’s have someone else debate /s
Honestly I'm disappointed. By not voting, they will just let a worse candidate win than the one they won't vote for. If they want to have a better candidate, maybe they should try showing up for the primary.

I was NOT expecting a mom and son to be on opposite sides this episode edit: a few people are misinterpreting my comment and not reading the first few replies haha, I'm not shocked that the mother and son have different political beliefs , i'm shocked because I don't think jubilee has ever had an episode where relatives are debating each other about politics (i could be wrong tho) !!
Yeah, they are crapping on places in the U.S. and countries outside that barely have the ease of access of systems for allowing voting, the way we can. We should be taking advantage of this opportunity instead of taking it for granted.
Sorry to burst your bubble but claiming to be in the middle doesn't mean you don't have unhinged takes. You're not superior to any of these people even though you tell yourself that. It's just you virtue-signaling.
They desperately needed to include the whole middle ground thing or the whole episode's premise wouldn't make sense, although the entire episode was in fact the most distant of a middle ground as you can possibly be.
Because hypothetically even if it was true, you can vote for someone who will make our country better while also being disgusted at their past actions. You all are part of a cancel culture that doesn’t understand grace and forgiveness. Even said that, Kamala also has had a questionable past, but we don’t vote based off of who we want our best friend to be- we vote for who will actually be a more beneficial option politically speaking.
It was important to show it on camera so that people can't claim Jubilee spoofed the votes. It was the easiest and most simple solution versus editing everything censoring everything and get into the shitstorm of it all.
There is not really a purpose for doing that. I think it is much more interesting to have the undecided/ non 2 party voters explain why they are choosing that
Its just crazy how much the media has separated us. Most people are so hard headed and refuse to look at things from a different perspective. America will never be the same
I find it interesting that Emily can openly say that’s she’s a Republican and pro-choice, but Connie is a Democrat and has to hide that she’s pro-life.
Jubilee STOP calling this middle ground, it is not even close. And I don’t understand why you keep inviting problematic people to these “middle grounds”.
for real like i think the fact checking has been "mostly" fair but who they pick and why matter (should be a seperate video) and everytime a dem makes a statement like Donald Trump's policies only help rich americans and white people we don't get a fact check saying none of his enacted or inacted policies favored or were targeted at specifically helping only white rich americans. It's fallacious and needs to be called out every time.
They do this series because people like it even though it’s very hard to find a middle ground. The last video I remember of jubilee with an actual middle ground was 90year olds vs 9 year olds.
Jubilee should invite rational people seriously. Emily(the girl who claims to be pro choice republican) has said she would be ok with slavery if everyone in a state wants it, this is beyond insanity
In this scenario does she think folks opting in to slavery also have a sustainable subset of folks opting to be slaves or is she not thinking about that?
I think it does represent the reality and symptoms of the polarization though. I just hope that after we understand the problem we can get back to the solutions
But thats democracy. That is WHY we have the electoral college. Pure democracy is mob rule, two wolves deciding what to have for dinner. We are a constitutional republic, NOT a pure democracy.
It's actually crazy watching this overseas. Democrats/people would rather let a monkey with a chainsaw get elected into the oval office just because 'kaMaLa iSnT tHe PeRfEct cAnDiDate', newsflash, there will never be a perfect candidate, you will never agree 1000000% with a politician running for office. And the worst part is they stand by that and defend it to death
To be honest, as sad as it is, it does seem accurate as far as how the general public talks about politics. Not very informed voters, over emotional, overuse of talking points, ad hominem attacks over sticking to substance. It’s very evident in part 1 - where the people who raised their hands (because they felt “confident” enough to talk about each prompt) weren’t actually well versed at all. There definitely were a handful of exceptions, but for the most part, I think they do represent the majority of voters. Ignorant, arrogant & hostile. 😢
This taught me one thing, it doesn't matter if you are a dem or a rep. If you can't bring up facts and not what CNN or Fox news spews to you. You don't deserve to have a place in the conversation.
The problem is nobody knows what the Truth actually is anymore. So much disinformation has been spewed the last 10 years, most people are spinning with useless disinformation.
They don't care about facts. They think they do because they only like the facts that agree with them and ignore facts that disagree with them. Both sides suck and we essentially live in Idiocracy .
Why is Jubilee using specific re-occuring members in order to show radical division? The real world doesn't talk or act like that. I'm a republican and I love debating, but I can honestly say that every Democrat I've debated in person has been awesome to talk to. Just because we have different beliefs doesn't mean we automatically have to throw insults like Jubilee is promoting. This is how you divide the country to the point of violence. By only showing the most violent people of each side.
When Jubilee did a casting call for this episode, they were looking for a nationwide casting. Some of these people come from various other states because they have the time and money to travel to LA for the filming.
The people who were the loudest or the quietest not voting are extremely annoying to me because what exactly was your purpose today? You’re furthering the problem in America.
They want to be future politicians, they want a politician who has no previous bias's cause that will only hurt them in the future if they decide to change their mind. Its another reason I don't want a career politician in power, their whole life is spent carving their resume and they will say or do anything that will get them to a higher position
@@Dejojo25lmao. Why? A “democracy” is supposed to represent more than two ideologies. The we shape the government, not the other way around. If we don’t like who we’re putting in office, we should change that system. If the majority of Americans want more than two parties, why shouldn’t we vote to achieve that future?
So this phillipino girl is mad her parents had to learn English to become citizens? If you apply for citizenship in any other country you gave to learn the local language.

I feel the same way about republicans. Kamala needs to stop contradicting herself and pandering to what she thinks the audience wants to hear if she wants Democrats to vote for her.
@@benoconnor7034 If you go on UA-cam there are compilations of Kamala making statements, then it cuts to a clip of her immediately contradicting her own statement. And it’s not like years apart when she changes her opinions. It’s in short periods of time that she completely contradicts herself based on whatever audience she has. For example, she says “how dare anyone say ‘merry Christmas’” then like a month later she unironically says merry Christmas. And there’s just tons like that. She says something about the border, then immediately contradicts it.
Connie saying "her vote doesn't matter" is so harmful to say. We saw from the results of the mock vote how close it was, and that is such a dangerous thing to put out to the thousands of people that are gonna watch this video
…it doesn’t matter. She has no say. If I’m not mistaken, she was the socialist. She doesn’t have a voice in this two party system. Her vote will generate more money for her party (I’m assuming she’s a Green Party supporter) even if she does vote for Kamala, she doesn’t actually stand by her policies, so her voice isn’t being heard. Her vote does not matter.
The ONLY way to make everyone's vote matter is to get rid of the archaic electoral college. Until then, there are WAY too many people's votes that DO NOT COUNT. Tell me as a liberal in Idaho or a conservative in Oregon that my vote counts. It does not.
Even though her words were dangerous, the results prove her statement wrong. I think the results speak volumes about the reality of the situation. They almost act as a buffer to her words.
You could argue it was intended still - There will definitely be Democratic staffers watching this video. She may have had more impact in not voting in this skit than if she actually voted in real life.
Thats why you need to vote no matter what. Independents should also be included in these types of middle ground episodes as they are the largest voting bloc in the United States
Independents* are actually almost irrelevant because they break similarly almost every time, its actually much more advantageous to mobilize your core base for turnout

My parents are also immigrants from Asia. We are Vietnamese Americans; they have broken English and had to take the Civics Test in English, but they never complained about learning English to become citizens. In fact, they're proud. Whenever they travel internationally, they always show off their US Passports so that other people can see they're Americans.
I've seen an instance of some not going through with their citizenship but due to being permanent residents, but immigrants coming into the country should get citizenships to reap the benefits of being a US citizen..and most of them understand that fact. Asians also are culturally ingrained that hard work is virtuous..so they tend to do quite well in the US.
It really is such a silly argument against changing something by saying you did it and it was hard and therefore everyone can do it and it shouldn't be changed. Completely illogical.
Broken english or not, they're trying to learn the language most are taught here. Better than some. They should take pride because they know this is a place where if you put the work in you can be rewarded.

That Filipino girl did not make sense...I shouldn't need to give a damn if your parents immigrated from the Philippines. Mine did from China. Legally, to clarify. The American Dream. And now your dumping your trauma on a Jubilee!

…it doesn’t matter. She has no say. If I’m not mistaken, she was the socialist. She doesn’t have a voice in this two party system. If you are actually listening to anyone from any side, with enough time and consideration, you will probably find valid reasons for their beliefs. This is why I find trained debaters to be insufferable to watch. They don’t communicate to connect on an emotional level. They communicate as a means of tricking one to feel inferior and less intelligent so that you must submit. Its toxic. That Filipino girl did not make sense...I shouldn't need to give a damn if your parents immigrated from the Philippines. Mine did from China. Legally, to clarify. If they didn't want to face the struggles of assimilating into a new country and learning it's language, then don't come here in the first place. Your parents came here to give you a better future. Just liberals being ridiculous as usual. If I move to Germany should I be upset that I have to learn German? No!
Her point was American citizens can’t pass the test, but immigrants have to learn/study another language to even take the test. Then she went along and said the white girl doesn’t go through hostility because of how she looks and where she is from.

I am still waiting for a response to the question, "What year was America great? And would you go back?" Like, why is that question so hard to answer?
There is no answer to it because there isn't 1 particular year it was great. There have been many periods of time since its creation that it was great. But over the past 10 years, we have been regressing into times when it was not.
He literally answered it in the video.
@brandyb2931 In the video, the guy asks, "When was there a specific 'time' when America was great". I apologize if my original comment confused you, but that is what I'm referring to. Also, could you clarify in what "periods of time it was great"? Because, it's clear that the guy couldn't name such a time that was so great, that he would want to go back to.
@joeyparsons14 No, he (or they) didn't. One guy mentioned "when everyone was benefitting from the economy? (hard to hear) But that has never been the case, or at least not within the past decade. And since this question is posed for a time before 2016 (slogan was created in 2016), then what period of time is he talking about? One person mentioned something about immigrants, but how does risking your life to flee to another country answer the question? It can't be always because America hasn't always been friendly to immigrants (legal or illegal). So what time period is she referring to? Another guy just names some legislation and the history of some racist groups in America (KKK). He did not answer when it was great, and he certainly never answered if he would go back to that time period. So, no. No one answered the question. But if I missed something, then please correct me

Ph is not like surrounding countries that don't speak English. Now the Republican Haitian who speaks 5 languages, bravo!
To be fair, just because you learn it as 2nd language in school doesn't mean you speak it. I know plenty people from first hand experience that had english since 3rd grade and can barely say hello in english. There's also a difference between official and national language and one doesn't automatically mean the other. One of my better friends is filipino and he's my age. His english is fluent. His parents which are at least 60+ do in fact not speak a single english word. Nowadays more people speak english definitely, but people gotta stop assuming how it was DECADES before our time.
