  • Additional test to my previous video. Spray coating metallic surface with developer spray (Magnaflux SKD-S2) substantially improve detail.
Raptor still gives the best result even without any coating.

Thanks for this video comparison. Great job! I think you are the only one who does such quality reviews on these scanners.

You can see that even with the spray the Raptor has better results, but the Otter doesn't always require markers and looks like a more versatile choice. I read somewhere that you can use dry shampoo instead of the specialty spray because of the cheaper price.

SKD S2 is much better than dry shampoo. It's last longer too.

I've also an otter for a week now. I never use turntable mode. I think it performs way worse and loses track more often. It's easier to cut out the turntable later and don't deal with the issues. Thank you for all your videos.

Kindly share CPU, RAM & ROM and Graphic card details for average person to select before buying 3D scanners. Thank you in advance

Great videos as always. Can you do one without marker mode? Use texture and or feature for the otter. I know marker will give you best accuracy but just curious

Otter scan much faster in geometry mode, just adding small pyramids for tracking feature and delete them later.

I've seen an interesting way to scan on a filament spool made of clear plastic. The scanner does not see this spool, which makes it convenient to clean the model. I don't know if this will work with the Otter, but it worked with a laser scanner.

Amazing good 3d scanning videos! Can you scan colorful figure with lot's of different color including black and white and scan it with the Raptor? Would like to know how good it can scan surface with both (bright & dark). And is it possible to scan blue surface with Raptor? Keep on your great videos!

Ok, I'll try. But it scans blue color just fine. I've tested it.
