Oddly enough, this makes perfect sense. There's a lot of English speaking singers who have a heavy accent when speaking, but none when singing. The human brain is a crazy thing
+mehmeh That's because that is Vince Gill's voice. While Mike Judge (the show's creator) did Boomhauer's "talking voice" on this one and only episode where Boomhauer sings Vince Gill was chosen for his "singing voice".
two things make this really amazing 1) mike judge was musically trained 2)mike judge's voice of boomhauer is an impression of a deep southern accent but he is still able to have a great singing voice through that impression
This is my favorite episode for a few reasons. The relationship building between Khan, His daughter and the rest of the neighborhood. Boomhauer with the voice of an angel, and the general wholesome vibe of this episode.
It's very smart of them to do this. Singing and speaking comes from different parts of the brain. A great real life example of this is Ozzy Osbourne. Trying to understand him when he speaks is rough, but he still sings like he's in his prime.
I know two guys at my work that aren't very intelligent (Dylan and Jordan... or Max as he now wants to be called). Neither can really string together/create sentences very well, but they know how to articulate perfectly well when it comes to reciting lyrics.
Trivia: Singing doesn't use the same neural paths as speaking. People with speak impediments such as studders can communicate very clearly if they sing. Also swearing is a different neural path than speech. It's part of the fight/flight response. Also I'm aware that Boomhauer doesn't have a speech impediment. He just has a specific dialect of Southern USA English.
This show will forever be my favorite one. Especially after getting older and realising just how real some of the instances, and people around you are and relate to it. Sounds weird, but if you look at your friend group or people close to you, you can label which one of the characters they would be lol.
This clip is a really really nice way to understand (somewhat) subtle differences in musical compression I think. You can clearly hear each instrument as the animation focuses on each character but the volume output is very consistent throughout. In addition to that, every instrument is still noticeable in the general mix, provided that you're paying attention to it, even Bill's washboard antics. Pretty interesting.

It’s due to the fact that it uses a different part of the brain. Same reason people with dementia/altzheimers can play music as well
@@poopiedoopie9461 interesting!
Just realized Dale is holding his hand up to imitate playing a bass. Details like this are why KOTH is so amazing 😂😂😂😂
I love how Boomhauer is written hes a main side character who doesn't talk a lot or get a lot of screen time but yet he's epic
He was always my favorite as a kid, and he still is
It's always a top tier episode when Hanks guitar comes out
It’s crazy that Boomhauer can play that banjo lead line and still sing at the same time. Incredible skill!
Fact! That's Vince Gill lending Boomhauer his pipes.
I mean it makes sense. Look at Ozzy. Talks like he has a mouthful of syrup, sings completely coherently.
The animators are so good they actually (tried to) match the finger postions on the instrument.
Sometimes King Of The Hill has it's shining moments
This is one of them.
Oddly enough, this makes perfect sense. There's a lot of English speaking singers who have a heavy accent when speaking, but none when singing. The human brain is a crazy thing
this is prob one of the best vids on youtube
The way his voice sounds is like honey in tea
It was very important for this occasion of Boomhauer to sing on Episode 9 of the 6th Season.
nice
Boomhauer sounds an awful lot like Vince Gill
+mehmeh That's because that is Vince Gill's voice. While Mike Judge (the show's creator) did Boomhauer's "talking voice" on this one and only episode where Boomhauer sings Vince Gill was chosen for his "singing voice".
+Ricky Waugh thats what i was getting at...but thanks for showing me more than one person actually knows that.
Yea I realized that awhile back
Ricky Waugh Its Not Vince Gill Nowhere Close To His Sound
I thought I heard Billy Joe Shaver
There will never be another show like KotH.
I Love that Boomhauer was an FBI agent this entire time....
I'm going through a tough time right now, and for some reason this video makes me feel happy. I've watched it at least 100 times
two things make this really amazing
1) mike judge was musically trained
2)mike judge's voice of boomhauer is an impression of a deep southern accent but he is still able to have a great singing voice through that impression
No man, tell you what that ain’t no Mike Judge singing no Blue Moon of Kentucky, talking bout dang ole Vince Gill, man.
Better than the originals. They should make a full version in the same key.
I agree I can play a keyboard with the right settings for a string bass lets get some people together and do it
+Deadman Gaming Right? I just keep playing it over and over lol.
+chuckobscure yeah I kno the feeling I'm trying to get a ringtone version of it
they should
+Deadman Gaming why not record this as a ringtone instead?
I've met people with some really thick accents, but as soon as they start singing you could never tell.
Aww this episode was so heartwarming it was one of my faves as a kid
This is still the best cover of Blue Moon of Kentucky that I've ever heard.
Vince gil is amazing yes but come on no ones touching Bill Monroe
I want a full version tho
It's an Elvis song.
Kaizron Gyre its an elvis cover*
no one plays this version
Pat Barker lmfao
@@eace446 which is a cover of a Bill Monroe song
Getting all these recomends after dales voice actor passing; Rest in peace Johnny Hardwick
I witnessed a similar incident: I saw a man with a severe stutter sing very clearly.
This is my favorite episode for a few reasons. The relationship building between Khan, His daughter and the rest of the neighborhood. Boomhauer with the voice of an angel, and the general wholesome vibe of this episode.
he's like ozzy, can't speak clearly, but can somehow sing.
It's very smart of them to do this. Singing and speaking comes from different parts of the brain. A great real life example of this is Ozzy Osbourne. Trying to understand him when he speaks is rough, but he still sings like he's in his prime.
Ozzy Osborne is speaking in a Brummie (Birmingham, England) accent. It is not a speech defect.
@@AnneDowson-vp8lg Correct. Mel Tillis is a much better example.
This is one of the most pure joy inducing moments in all of king of the hill
People that have stutters can sing clearly
Bucky99 I'M THE SCATMAN, anyone?
Yeah, but how do they t t t t t type?
I like that Dale is pretending to do an upright bass but is clearly making a tuba sound
There not being a full version of this, is a crime against humanity
I know two guys at my work that aren't very intelligent (Dylan and Jordan... or Max as he now wants to be called).
Neither can really string together/create sentences very well, but they know how to articulate perfectly well when it comes to reciting lyrics.
Hank just crushing his sons creativity
0:07 Bill’s face is killing me
Pisses me off man - this is the best version of this song. I demand the full track.
That is perfect. You knew he'd sing clearly.
I love this version, he has the voice of an angel man.
Nice pfp. lol
Man, it's kinda bitter sweet having this show up in my recommendations after the passing of the VA. Rest in peace, legend.
If you ever heard an old man play bluegrass and then talk, they're all boomhauer.
one of the best episodes ever!!.💖
Shannon Wilson what episode is it?
When your highschool band gets back together
I love the end of this scene when bobby tries to join in and hank just gets pissed like why you dont have talent stay out of it
Still waiting for the Boomhauer album
Squad goals right here!!!
this is the only way to communicate with boomhauer, you have to hand him a banjo and ask him to sing his message to you
This show will forever be my favorite one.
