      No it's called this is what happens when ya have 100% hand controls and all track carriage because the weight distribution is all toward the back and low. This would not of happened if ya had 50/50 hand and foot controls and wheels with tracks. Better bucket control and weight distribution is more even from front to rear. I hate track cats there slow and Hazzardus as you can see here.

    • @willwilliams2944
      @willwilliams2944 2 роки тому

      @@jeromyw385xp Bullshit it is not the controls. Nor is it weight distribution. Foot controls is almost as unevenly weighted as hand you dwit. And your a complete child if you think track is worse than wheels. Wheels are so much more unstable and are only usefull for hard ground and hoping into a dump truck. You can finesse hand controls way easier than feet that is just a fact. It is called learn how the fuck to operate the machine you are in with the controls it has. Dude had absolutely zero control over that machine the entire time. You can flip anything if your stupid enough and the probability of you flipping weels with foot controls is way higher. I hope your not operating heavy machinery because your delusional.

    Thanks for having the courage to share your video. Since owning my own Bobcat for 15 years, I have learned to respect the potential power and danger of operating this machine.
    At the beginning, I had a tip forward (downslope), because I raised the bucket too much before dumping. I also had a tip (backwards) going up a hill without a bucket / forks.
    Since then, I think more about the weight distribution to avoid another incident.

      Or learn how to drive it. I do some wild stuff with mine and none of the skids I've owned or operated have flipped over. Neither have all the other types of equipment I've operated. Learn the machine first and foremost and go slow and methodical when you're learning.

    this guy rented this machine from me and i had to go get it. i took a t180 and a set of fork and up righted it and the mechanic took out the injectors and cleared it out and put them back in and she started up. loaded it and hit the road. this guy did the right thing and shut it off in 6 seconds and it saved the engine. he did a good job. most would not have done that fast enough. simple mistake .

      I had used it for 3 days with no problems. While backing down the hill the heel of my foot rested on the peddle that raised the bucket. It was gravity putting my heel on the peddle, I didn't even know where the bucket was. Of course I knew very well not to raise the bucket. I had dug a 4' hole with it and never had a problem.

    I have studied this video for a while now because I too noticed that if I'm not paying attention and am lifting the boom while reversing, I can forget to stop lifting the boom while I continue in reverse. I suddenly think what the hell am I doing! I have not flipped one, but I know it's certainly possible. This video is really the best tutorial for what a bobcat is capable of when the bucket is high. And, for the benefits of wearing that seat belt. Thanks for sharing.

    He forgot he was still raising the boom and just laid into reverse. there was no reason to keep lifting, but it just kept going the whole time he was backing up. Best case scenario is I go out and flip the machine over and the customer nurses their bruised pride. Worst case is the customer is hurt and the engine needs new con-rods because the engine hyro-locks on its inverted oil supply before its shut down.......Ive got a wall of bent rods in my shop......so yea, worst case is the usual outcome.

    With the boom up too high, creates a larger moment which resulted in unwanted rotation when he slowed in the backwards movement.

    I've had some close calls with rental skid steers. Now I never move the skid steer unless the bucket is super low to the ground.

    That's the "hard way" to learn how rear heavy Bobcats are!

    • @totalrobot
      @totalrobot 3 роки тому

      They're not rear heavy, per se. The weight of the boom being so high raised the front of his tracks, plus he was backing up into a decline. Center of gravity issues are the main culprits in rolling these over.

    So I'm curious. Once he flipped it, if he had lowered the bucket, would it have continue to roll on over and come up on its tracks? It looked like it might have been enough of a slope for it.....might have been rough ride.
    I rolled my JD tractor on its side once, due to raising a full bucket too high and moving forward with the one front wheel going up over a stone. That was on level ground. It didn't take much and once is more than enough. I'm a lot more careful on inclines and hillsides since. My skidsteer has tires rather than tracks and we've only had it a year or so. Having less experience with it, I'm less confident and more apprehensive than with the tractor. My son (37) runs the skidsteer most of the time.

    The picture of inexperience. I'm thinking he was not used to foot controls, didn't realize boom was still raising, and had no clue as to what a raised boom on that slope was about to do to him. Maybe,... now he knows better.
