I wouldn't call myself a trainspotter but I do love trains. What i apper to be drawn to is this guy's amazing knowledge of what is going on around him. Great work.
Have to say that I've always been a fan of the 225s, especially when they were in GNER livery, but the repaint of the Swallow Intercity livery just suits them.
Used to go to Peterborough as a kid to see the 91s and 43s HST roar into the station. Still plenty of variety, a great station. Be intersing to see what they do to the station after the renovation they are planning
@johnp-h8896 it's certainly long overdue. Peterborough is the first major stop on the ecml out of London. And it being a growing city with a population of over a quater of a million people, its amazing how it seems to always be overlooked for such projects. Similar large growing towns such as Reading and Milton Keynes have had loads of money pumped in with their stations and surrounding areas. I'm glad Peterborough is getting the attention it deserves!
@@cannedham8630 Peterborough has suffered because of a distinct lack of investment, partly due to funds distributed around the country under the auspices of our governments and the EU, now this government had laid out its funding for cities like Peterborough it will benefit all that live in the city.
Great video as always Jarred. It's always great to see the 225 sets and even more so in that stunning Intercity livery. You know your stuff on the Railways in Britain and are always knowledgeable I'd add.
Always an enjoyable place to visit with plenty of variety, most enjoyable. Perhaps a new title, rush hour trains in the rain, hopefully the weather improves for future destinations.
This was my first time doing a rush hour film form Peterborough and I can safely say I wasn't disappointed, plenty of variety to be seen throughout. Just would have liked there to have been a few more freight trains passing through. I'm not loving that the weather seems to want to follow me everywhere haha
Brilliant video legend I was enjoying your videos and rush hour Is my favourite and other videos. East Coast main line rush hour and west coast main line rush hour at other stations
Btw the intercity 225 set is my favourite train in the world as they are fast and absolutely stunning. I wish they'd never get replaced on the ECML. If they do then im haply I've rode them when I can.
My close joint second is the class 180 adelantes, InterCity 125s and the Voyager/meridians. I also like the IETS like the Azumas and Lumos on the ECML.
Thank you kindly! You certainly got lucky to have a sneak peak inside the cab! I'm yet to be so privaledged haha. Hope you had a great time at Peterborough that evening
Been to Peterborough many times to train spot and it is an awesome place, specially for freight. Last time there i saw borh royal Scotsman locos .66743 and 66746😊
The 158s to Norwich do run as a 4 coach between Liverpool and Nottingham and then they devide at Nottingham the rear 2 terminates at Nottingham and front 2 coaches continue onwards to Norwich
I went to Peterborough today and filmed a video which is now on UA-cam on George Greenfield and it’s an awesome station . I lost went there when the 800s were in a white livery and Class 180s ran the Hull trains services
That is never going to happen, Oxenholme Lake District is to far away to do a rush hour film. If I ever do cover that station it will be done as a standard film
To be fair Peterborough has great connections to different parts of the country with the various services that call here throughout the day. You'll find that more services will call here than actually pass through. The only companies that don't stop at Peterborough would be Grand Central, Lumo and Hull Trains
35:27 as Crowded house once sang: “everywhere you go. Always take the weather with you” in this case scenario you’re essentially taking the weather with you!
Rush Hour? More like splash hour... hopefully Mother Nature looks down on you more favourably as the year goes on. Great video as always though, keep it up
33:24 I’ll be brutally honest it’s a normal thing that happens with us trainspotters and when you’re one who makes use of a tripod it’s 5x worse. Everyone staring at you trying to work out what you’re doing. Occasionally a couple come up to ask but that’s all I can say really! We’ve all been there!
I don't think I've had a single day where I've been train spotting where I haven't either had someone stare into my soul or a member of staff asking what it is I'm doing
That green shed at 29.20 isn't the REAL Evening Star - that's a 9F! 🙂 - - - Ah, you're always complaining, Jared, even though Ann Ouncer and Ray Ninagen are helping you! - - -
Would it be one of my films if I weren't complaining atleast once ;) That was my first time seeing that 66. Would be great to see the real Evening Star out and about though
10:00 Let's be honest it could have been worse like those years ago when the DFT made the stupidest mistake of forcing only 2 cars on that long route. Admitting to the mistake and restoring 4 cars thereafter, occasionally still happens depending on the availability 13:30 We'll have to see in the near future because Eversholt (who own the IC225s) are not that generous with preservation, unlike Angel and Porterbrook. They scrap everything quickly before any efforts can be made (hence no full sets in preservation just yet) I would like to see one for rail tours that would be nice but only time will tell 😂
The different companies are slowly but surely getting better at their stock allocation for different routes but it could be better. Cross Country are the worst offenders for this sort of thing, I will be very surprised if a 225 set isn't saved.
so, LNER are running a service from KX to Hull. wouldnt that put them in direct competition with Hull Trains, which i thought was a big no no in the rail industry
@@ConfusedOxygen I just heard from someone that TOCs in direct competition with each other wasnt allowed. Like how Avanti dont do an Edinburgh service down Trent Valley, because if they did it would take around 4.5 hours, similar to LNER, so they send it through Birmingham instead to stay out of competition
@@conallplatts5244 that wouldn’t make much sense though, LNER also go a Glasgow service (albeit I don’t know if that follows the same route) and other TOCs seem to follow routes to be put into competition with each other. I’ll have to do some research on it
@@ConfusedOxygen it might be that this person doesnt know what they are on about, or just misheard something. but the LNER service to Glasgow follows the LNER Edinburgh route up to Edinburgh, then goes down to Carstairs and into Glasgow down the WCML from Carstairs

ok
The Liverpool to Norwich starts with 4 cars but splits at Nottingham for some reason.
