Hey man, thanks for this video. I was having a rough time before watching this and you made my day. I also have a habit of comparing myself to other people and wishing to be more like them but after watching your content you put a smile on my face and make my day better. I'm glad you were able to put those words together in today's world since narcissism is becoming more and more rewarded.
That habit can be good in many terms my friend, that means you value yourself and want to become the best version of your self and keep on working hard to achieve your dreams but you must have heard it before already, you should not compare your'e self to every body because everyone has their own unique features, qualities and every one has a different journey so we can not be compared to every one my friend, i hope this helps.

After being diagnosed with MS I was forced out of my dreams, I used to be an obsessed competitor constantly trying to be better then the other guy for my line of work. I was obsessed with praise and getting more. In a way I think losing the ability to do what I thought was my dream was a blessing in disguise, after I lost it all I realized I was only filled with ego. It was destroying my love and joy for not only my own work but how I saw others.
There is no shame in being a nobody. Being a nobody is knowing peace and freedom

I hate ego as well. My own need to be good or great at whatever I choose to get serious about has to do with a feeling of worthlessness- unless I can feel good about my hard work leading to my mastering my job I am taking up space that I am not entitled to.(and my jobs are always intellectual/artistic based upon my physical weakness/disease not of my own fault) To achieve greatness in my OWN eyes is most important. I don't need attention, or anyone to tell me I am great, I need to know it myself. only then can i know I deserve to be taking up space, living a life etc. I doubt this is the usual feeling among artist types, but it must be among some, since that is what drives ME, it must also be what drives a few others. And I am not famous or rich, and never have been. But i still have that need to feel OK about myself. no idea why. My fight is and has always been, with myself.
