I’ve been a loyal Jaybird fan ever since the beginning. They almost lost me a couple times but they continue to come back strong and fix the problem! I’ve tried them all and it you play outside in the elements they cannot be beat !
The biggest feature of this is something you didn't mention. If you do loose an ear bud you can replace it!!! Or if the battery goes bad in one or on the case. This is a MUST in my opinion since I got the Vista 1s and cannot believe other manufacturers don't do this. All these improvements are perfect. Logitech keep making these ear buds and don't change them!! Just ordered another pair for at work!

Yeah I agree, I’ve done half marathons, full marathons, hours in the gym, never a single problem. A great choice for fitness people or even if you are just very active at work and you want a secure fit.
You convinced me to get these! I returned the Jabra Elite Active 75T’s for these bad boys. I have the Midnight Blue. They fit my ears perfectly and the sound is terrific.
Thanks for the review. I love my Vista’s but I accidentally washed them and even though they work the battery will now no longer fully charge (I get about 45 minutes and then they die) I was really interested in the vista 2’s and then Sony release the wf-1000xm3’s the same day which hammer these on specs (Although they are more expensive and bigger). I listen to high res music though so I can see me giving those a go. May even treat myself to the Vista 2’s for when I’m running, and gym anyway as for me they are super solid in the ear, never fell out once. Good review. Thanks.
I fully recommend getting warranties with any ear buds you buy. The xm3s are not nearly as versatile, but the sound quality is better. Have you tried reaching out to Jaybirds to see if they can help you in some way? You don't have to tell them you washed them. Just say the battery just stopped working efficiently.
Great buds but like you I use one in normal mode when cycling . The only other thing is when answering a call they automatically go into surround sense mode so if it’s even a little windy people can’t hear you, I hope they will change this with a SW update
Great review Des! I'm close to purchasing these, though I have a quick question that I can't seem to find the answer to anywhere online. I know the H1 chip in Apple's AirPods allows for quick switching between devices like your iPhone and Apple Watch. On the other hand, with the Jaybird Vista 2's, once you've done the initial bluetooth pairings to both your iPhone and Apple Watch, is it much of a hassle to move back and forth between devices afterwards, ie, say you last used them with your phone, and now you're going to leave the phone at home and take them out for a run with just your Apple Watch... do you have to go back into the watch's settings each time to select them, or do the Jaybirds simply re-pair automatically if the case is opened again near the watch? Selecting them in the settings each time wouldn't be a big deal... but I can also see the value in just opening the case and heading out the door :) Thanks!
The ANC and SurroundSense is worthless because of the wind noise, when riding a bike. Haven’t tried running, but my guess is it’s the same thing. I just turned it all off, and it was fine. I will say the AirPods Pro had no issue with wind noise with ANC on, while riding. Vista 2 do fit good in my small ears, and after playing around with the EQ settings, I found a really nice setting that mirrored the Apple products, which I like. The flat setting that is out of the box is not great. I really liked being able to adjust the controls and appreciated the button and tapping. When calls came in and I was on my bike there was terrible wind noise. Case is really small, which is nice.
Hey, I know this is almost a year old but have you had any long-term thoughts on the Vista 2's? I picked up some Vista 2's but have been having terrible connectivity experience on android. Been trying to get help with jaybird support and not really getting anywhere.
Bought some soundpeats truefree 2 same form factor only missing thing for me on those is an audio pass through mode and better buttons…guess il pony up some extra cash and get these its nice being able to talk without having to remove your earbuds
I tried 3 different pairs of the original Vistas. The call quality was so bad that I couldn't keep em. The worst is having to take out a phone or switch Bluetooth mid run.
I own the Vista's. I really like them. I don't understand why most reviewers skip the Vista's in their top 5.. Are the Vista 2 a worthy upgrade in your opinion?
The in-ear detection is a big one for me - really like that even though it's not as fancy of a feature like ANC and SurroundSense but those are nice to have as well.
Not much info on ambient mode. How does it sound? Does sounds have a mechanical sound? Does your own voice have a modulated sound? How many levels of adjustment do they have for ambient sound? What does the app look like? Does ambient have any amplification?

Tough call. The sound quality is amazing on the Sony’s but the Jaybird’s are still quite good. If sweat resistance and durability are your primary needs you may want to go Jaybird.
Hi @desfit, I watched your review and got convinced to buy one. It arrived now. Question: Have you encountered lost connection of one earbud in some cases? I dunno if it’s when i turn my head to left side the left earbud suddenly not working, same on the right. Also, have you experienced static sound?
How is the call quality for the recipient? IE will the person I'm talking to hear everything including all of the wind noise and background noise/chatter which usually prompts them or me to end a call prematurely? Since I like to hear what's going on around me too, what about a mono bluetooth device for cycling? Like a Poly Voyager Legend, 5250, or the Blue Parrot M300.
I've loved the first Vistas buy wished for an audio passthrough mode when using them at work so I picked these up as soon as they launched. Unfortunately both the ANC and Audio passthrough are horrible. Constant hissing and static crackling. I've had 2 pair and both did the same thing. They sound great with ANC or audio passthrough turned off, but that is the reason I bought them. They are being returned.
May want to try out the new Beats Studio Buds (latest video on the channel). Better ANC especially with wind but sound won’t be quite as good as the Vista/Vista 2.
I actually think the first Vista had a slightly better bass. By no means am i an expert, but the Vista 2 lacked some of the bass and depth on the same preset as i used on the Vista
Oh, I LOVE the Tarah Pros as well! I find the fit to be a little more secure on the Vistas but the Tarah Pros are slightly more comfortable. The fins are a little softer on the Tarah Pros. However, there's the additional security of the cord on the Tarah Pros which I like for more rugged mountain bike rides. The Vistas stay in my ears but there's still situations where they could get dislodged. Thanks!

What's the fit like on the Vistas compared to the Jaybird Run? I've had the X3s amd Tarah and was satisfied with those but I've never tried anymore of there truly wireless offerings after I used the runs because they hurt my ear and wouldnt stay in.
I used the Runs for along time and the OG Vistas were infinitely better. It went from painful buds to only minority annoying after 8+ hours of non stop music*
I have Jaybirds but the one before the Tarah. Sound is totally distorted when cranking the volume up, ei: on a plane. Can anyone describe how the Vista and or Vista 2 are performing ? I listen to Rock and Metal. Thanks!
Hey, Des! Any chance you'll review the new Sony WF-1000XM4? The WF line finally has some water resistance and they seem like a very interesting choice if someone considers earbuds that are great in every situation. From a couple reviews they seem to be a solid upgrade all-around. I have the WF-1000XM3 and they don't have any water resistance so there's no chance in taking them with me, the fit on my ears with any of the default tips is also not solid enough to stay in-ear while running or bobbing my head rapidly from my tests.

Man.. literally bought the Vista's yesterday (partly with a 14 day return policy). 2 questions: are they worth an extra $50, or maybe more when the vistas go on sale. and do they allow for multi-device concurrent pairing?
Since you still have the 14 day, I would spend the extra $50 just for longer battery life (from 5 - 8 hrs) alone. I hear the sound is slightly better... and it was already awesome. You'll keep wondering 'what if' if you don't. I just bought the 1s a couple of months ago so I'm way past any return possibility. I'm thinking of getting the blue 2s when they go on sale 🤔
Any tips on how to get a better fit? I get a great seal initially however after a vigorous workout, they slip and need constant adjustment. Which fins do you use?
I've had a lot of problems with vibration over long rides or runs slowly knocking any ear bud type out of my ears. And I always have to adjust them. How are these with staying in?

It comes down to the size of the Sony’s - they are large and if you have smaller ears I’m not sure how secure they will be. They do sound amazing though.
The new case and old case aren't interchangeable unfortunately, mainly due to the charging terminals which I think are a big improvement on the Vista 2.
Not sure if they will stay strong enough in my ears to use them for sprints. The tarah pro probably would but in often heard about tue horrible build quality of the tarah. So you think they will stay in the ears for sprints and hiit Workout?

Good Review... Just ordered my Vista 2s from Jaybird. Comes with some sort of Launch Kit which is free until quantities are gone. Don't know what's included in Launch Kit. Hopefully will receive in couple of days as expedited shipping was also free. Wanted to get extended warranty but it wasn't available at time ordered because of issues on website...
I use the first gen vistas with a Half helmet with or without a face mask (the neck tube kind) no problem. full face will work too but the problem is getting them to stay in as you put the helmet on/ off. You also then can’t change the track, volume, etc via the buds themselves. However you can do that via your phone, but I prefer using just the buds with a half helmet because I can do all that quickly (just a quick click or two), with any gloves, and without taking my eyes off the road. If you only wear full face or 3/4 helmets you’re better off getting a com system imho for a similar price usually with a second head unit to communicate with a passenger or another rider. You also don’t have to worry about them falling out or hurting your ears and hearing surrounding sounds ie ambient noise is better/ safer. (Because with the vista buds and a full or 3/4 helmet the buds tend to get pushed into your ears more and become more like earplugs, which some riders wear but with the music blasting also then you don’t/ can’t hear much else except for maybe your exhaust and wind noise. Hope that helps
Tried the vista 2, wanted to love them but damn they suck when you're cycling. THEY AMPLIFY THE WIND NOISE don't be fooled, no matter what setting you put them in(I've tried it all) that wind is so annoying. The vista 1 did a better job IMO.
Order them. $50/60+ cheaper, at retail. Still available. Doubt these are a massive upgrade, ANC isn't a big deal unless you're flying a lot IMHO. Wireless charging is meh unless you have a phone with reverse WC (I still rock an old Note 9). Something about that $200 price point for buds just hits me the wrong way. You do you. 👍
Along with the fact that you can't truly hear your surroundings with both buds in. Even with the best transparency (Airpods Pro) it's still the safest bet to only wear one earbud for safety.
Any chance you gonna do a review on the Huawei gt 2 pro watch? the first vistas had a useless microphone that was just added there for the price tag. hopefully this one is better. last one didnt even pick up my voice and went for other peoples voices.
I'd love it if in the future you used the microphone to record some audio while out for a run or on a ride. It never fails that I get an important work call while on a long ride and it's critical to know if people will be able to hear me roadside or if I need to find a store to pop into.
@@johnhughes3749 not sure about the vista 2’s but I’m afraid all the settings are only controlled from the phone app. If that’s what you mean. They don’t transfer to the watch. Apart from maybe the custom control settings (which could be stored internally on the earbuds). It could well be that once you setup the various options on the Vista 2’s they are stored internally on the earbuds but for sure the EQ settings would be controlled via the phone app. I loved my vistas but I’m afraid I got them very wet and they now no longer charge. My screw up. 😆
@@endo52 I had this problem too on a fenix 6. In my case I had two pairs of headphones paired to the watch and I think and it was having trouble deciding on what to hook up to. I did a full restart on the watch. Was perfect from there. I still have to do it occasionally (maybe three times in the last six months) but no big deal.
I love my vistas but I changed them 6 months ago because of the poor call quality. No one could heard me when I was on the phone and just had to connect back to the phone mic to talk. What do you think of the call quality on the vista 2? I would consider buying a pair if call quality is now better.
Ι have iphone 12 mini . Yesterday i bought vista 2. I did the update. EVERYTHING FUCKED . after update, earbuds stop playing sound , right bud stop playing . I have try to delete application the problem continiues . Any solution ?
The wind noise cycling is killing me, rendering these almost useless. Continue to play with the app settings but nothing has worked thus far. Guess I should have paid more attention to all the reviews that mentioned this unsolvable issue before I was smitten with the notion of an upgrade from my JayBird runs. The constant cutting out of blue booth connectivity with even the slightest turn of the head left is worse than cheaper Run’s. Never returned a product before like this but if I can’t solve these issues I may not have another choice.
I recently got Vista right before they released Vista 2. My only complaint about Vista 1 is the ear fins are still too big for me. The smallest one is just a solid plastic. It doesn't bend like the other fins. 😩
great review , I have the original vista, they're the only ones not falling out my ears during workouts, they're super durable and easy to use, I had jabra 65 and bose soundsport pulse but they would always fall out eventually, as far as working out is concerned the vista are definitely the ones to get

So water spilled all over my backpack. Soaking my beoplay sport e8 headphones for a whole night. But impressively, they still work and sound great. Highly recommend reaching out to beoplay and getting a demo for a headphone comparison video! I’m curious on sound quality.

this may sound weird, but can the original vista buds be placed inside the vista 2 case to be reset for pairing?... my original vista plus case just came out of the washing machine (yeah, left inside the denim jeans pocket)... surprisingly, the buds still work (thumbs for the IPX rating huh!), but i accidentally unpaired it from my phone, and the reset button isn't responding to the long press... that would give me added reason to upgrade to these

It's about the same as the ANC mode where it can amplify the wind noise. I still tend to lean towards using just one earbud so one ear is completely free to hear my surroundings and not use the ANC/SurroundSense for cycling.

The problem with jaybird vista is that you cant change the eartip or fin seperatly like the x2/x3. It just fell out of my left ear after a little while, and i had to get different earbuds :(

So far I enjoy them. But if I ride my bike. Or if there is any wind when im walking then there is that loud "wind microphone sound." that is because I should be able to hear my surroundings as well? Basically dont use the feature if im moving quickly or if there is wind...?
Just got a set.... Horrible wind noise with every setting, when cycling. The wind noise is probably worse for your ears then listening to music too loud.

You'll have to tell the device (apple watch in this case) to connect to the buds each time you want to switch devices.

I have a s22 ultra and had the same issues so.i took them back and got the jabra elite 75t actives and love them

some of the vistas has a manufacturing issue and the speaker suddenally stops working. Mine stopped after 2 years.

Loved the first vista but lacked those features now coming through which is why I got the airpod pro. Now have to make decisions with this hah.

By no means am i an expert, but the Vista 2 lacked some of the bass and depth on the same preset as i used on the Vista
how's the fit compared to the tarah pro? are the fins the same? i had gotten the tarah pro based on your recommendation a few years ago and love them!
Oh, I LOVE the Tarah Pros as well! I find the fit to be a little more secure on the Vistas but the Tarah Pros are slightly more comfortable. The fins are a little softer on the Tarah Pros. However, there's the additional security of the cord on the Tarah Pros which I like for more rugged mountain bike rides. The Vistas stay in my ears but there's still situations where they could get dislodged. Thanks!

What's the fit like on the Vistas compared to the Jaybird Run? I've had the X3s amd Tarah and was satisfied with those but I've never tried anymore of there truly wireless offerings after I used the runs because they hurt my ear and wouldnt stay in.
I used the Runs for along time and the OG Vistas were infinitely better. It went from painful buds to only minority annoying after 8+ hours of non stop music*

Hey, Des! Any chance you'll review the new Sony WF-1000XM4? The WF line finally has some water resistance and they seem like a very interesting choice if someone considers earbuds that are great in every situation. From a couple reviews they seem to be a solid upgrade all-around. I have the WF-1000XM3 and they don't have any water resistance so there's no chance in taking them with me, the fit on my ears with any of the default tips is also not solid enough to stay in-ear while running or bobbing my head rapidly from my tests.

Man.. literally bought the Vista's yesterday (partly with a 14 day return policy). 2 questions: are they worth an extra $50, or maybe more when the vistas go on sale. and do they allow for multi-device concurrent pairing?
Since you still have the 14 day, I would spend the extra $50 just for longer battery life (from 5 - 8 hrs) alone. I hear the sound is slightly better... and it was already awesome. You'll keep wondering 'what if' if you don't. I just bought the 1s a couple of months ago so I'm way past any return possibility. I'm thinking of getting the blue 2s when they go on sale 🤔
Any tips on how to get a better fit? I get a great seal initially however after a vigorous workout, they slip and need constant adjustment. Which fins do you use?
I just use the medium ones out of the box. I hope you can find something that works for your ears!

I've had a lot of problems with vibration over long rides or runs slowly knocking any ear bud type out of my ears. And I always have to adjust them. How are these with staying in?
The original Vistas and these stay in my ears very well - the wings seem to do a good job with that.

The Sony’s tend to do better but fit is an issue with those. I’ll have a review of the Sony’s uploaded this week.

It comes down to the size of the Sony’s - they are large and if you have smaller ears I’m not sure how secure they will be. They do sound amazing though.
Is the charging case compatible with the old Vista? Those are out of stock for a while now...
The new case and old case aren't interchangeable unfortunately, mainly due to the charging terminals which I think are a big improvement on the Vista 2.
Not sure if they will stay strong enough in my ears to use them for sprints. The tarah pro probably would but in often heard about tue horrible build quality of the tarah.

For sure! I also sprint, no problem.
I did some HIIT workouts with them and they were good to go for that.

You think a motorcycle helmet would fit over those or would they stick out too much?
I use the first gen vistas with a Half helmet with or without a face mask (the neck tube kind) no problem. full face will work too but the problem is getting them to stay in as you put the helmet on/ off. You also then can’t change the track, volume, etc via the buds themselves. However you can do that via your phone, but I prefer using just the buds with a half helmet because I can do all that quickly (just a quick click or two), with any gloves, and without taking my eyes off the road.
If you only wear full face or 3/4 helmets you’re better off getting a com system imho for a similar price usually with a second head unit to communicate with a passenger or another rider. You also don’t have to worry about them falling out or hurting your ears and hearing surrounding sounds ie ambient noise is better/ safer. (Because with the vista buds and a full or 3/4 helmet the buds tend to get pushed into your ears more and become more like earplugs, which some riders wear but with the music blasting also then you don’t/ can’t hear much else except for maybe your exhaust and wind noise.

Tried the vista 2, wanted to love them but damn they suck when you're cycling. THEY AMPLIFY THE WIND NOISE don't be fooled, no matter what setting you put them in(I've tried it all) that wind is so annoying. The vista 1 did a better job IMO.

Order them. $50/60+ cheaper, at retail. Still available. Doubt these are a massive upgrade, ANC isn't a big deal unless you're flying a lot IMHO. Wireless charging is meh unless you have a phone with reverse WC (I still rock an old Note 9).
Something about that $200 price point for buds just hits me the wrong way. You do you. 👍

Along with the fact that you can't truly hear your surroundings with both buds in. Even with the best transparency (Airpods Pro) it's still the safest bet to only wear one earbud for safety.

the first vistas had a useless microphone that was just added there for the price tag. hopefully this one is better. last one didnt even pick up my voice and went for other peoples voices.
I'd love it if in the future you used the microphone to record some audio while out for a run or on a ride. It never fails that I get an important work call while on a long ride and it's critical to know if people will be able to hear me roadside or if I need to find a store to pop into.
The Vista was terrible for call quality so I'm interested to see about the Vista 2. Loved my vistas

Did your EQ and control settings migrate to use with the watches?
@@johnhughes3749 not sure about the vista 2’s but I’m afraid all the settings are only controlled from the phone app. If that’s what you mean. They don’t transfer to the watch. Apart from maybe the custom control settings (which could be stored internally on the earbuds). It could well be that once you setup the various options on the Vista 2’s they are stored internally on the earbuds but for sure the EQ settings would be controlled via the phone app. I loved my vistas but I’m afraid I got them very wet and they now no longer charge. My screw up. 😆
@@endo52 I had this problem too on a fenix 6. In my case I had two pairs of headphones paired to the watch and I think and it was having trouble deciding on what to hook up to. I did a full restart on the watch. Was perfect from there. I still have to do it occasionally (maybe three times in the last six months) but no big deal.
I love my vistas but I changed them 6 months ago because of the poor call quality. No one could heard me when I was on the phone and just had to connect back to the phone mic to talk.
What do you think of the call quality on the vista 2? I would consider buying a pair if call quality is now better.

The wind noise cycling is killing me, rendering these almost useless. Continue to play with the app settings but nothing has worked thus far. Guess I should have paid more attention to all the reviews that mentioned this unsolvable issue before I was smitten with the notion of an upgrade from my JayBird runs.
The constant cutting out of blue booth connectivity with even the slightest turn of the head left is worse than cheaper Run’s. Never returned a product before like this but if I can’t solve these issues I may not have another choice.
I recently got Vista right before they released Vista 2. My only complaint about Vista 1 is the ear fins are still too big for me. The smallest one is just a solid plastic. It doesn't bend like the other fins. 😩
I found the same. I have to use the smallest fins but finding a fit can be frustrating. Still hoping for a comply foam version to come out.

great review , I have the original vista, they're the only ones not falling out my ears during workouts, they're super durable and easy to use, I had jabra 65 and bose soundsport pulse but they would always fall out eventually, as far as working out is concerned the vista are definitely the ones to get

this may sound weird, but can the original vista buds be placed inside the vista 2 case to be reset for pairing?... my original vista plus case just came out of the washing machine (yeah, left inside the denim jeans pocket)... surprisingly, the buds still work (thumbs for the IPX rating huh!), but i accidentally unpaired it from my phone, and the reset button isn't responding to the long press... that would give me added reason to upgrade to these

So how does SurroundSense work when riding your bike? My wife has the Galaxy Buds+ and that feature is TERRIBLE if there is any wind at all.
It's about the same as the ANC mode where it can amplify the wind noise. I still tend to lean towards using just one earbud so one ear is completely free to hear my surroundings and not use the ANC/SurroundSense for cycling.

The problem with jaybird vista is that you cant change the eartip or fin seperatly like the x2/x3. It just fell out of my left ear after a little while, and i had to get different earbuds :(
I liked the customization on the X2/3 but I kept on losing either the fin or tip which wasn’t ideal

So far I enjoy them. But if I ride my bike. Or if there is any wind when im walking then there is that loud "wind microphone sound." that is because I should be able to hear my surroundings as well? Basically dont use the feature if im moving quickly or if there is wind...?

Just got a set.... Horrible wind noise with every setting, when cycling. The wind noise is probably worse for your ears then listening to music too loud.
@@SingleSpeederLife I hva found the best setting is "normal", which actually turns them in to the original Vista... But with a slightly better fit.
