I have this setup in a 2022 FID racing dragon hammer Voltz high speed large scale 1/5 scale rc . I would like to see you guys make a video with this kind of rc vehicle.
This looks like it would be a good replacement for the ZTW 300 combo that comes in the FID Dragon Hammer Voltz. It would be a great addition to have a sensored motor on that vehicle- its very jumpy at low speed on 12S.
@@runngunrc1991 Thanks for your reply Run n Gun, my issue is that within the specifications it says that the Max4 has a 600 KV max, meaning to say that you shouldn’t use a motor higher than 600 KV. This is going to be a problem for people who are looking for a speed.
Damn, I have been trying to get a 12s esc for months, I ended up buying a Flier 400amp (no tech support or instructions at all) from China and I just installed it in my DBXL, I just saw this video and back-ordered the MAX 4 literally while watching this video. It's about time, I thought Castle would be the first, Most of my large scale stuff is Hobbywing or Firma which we all know is Hobbywing.
@@lilnash7 At first it was cogging and didn't have full power, after hours of research I figured out that the firmware was not for a car, so after updating and tweeking the settings it is the most powerful RC I've ever seen, The max 4 is twice the price but it has a BEC and it's plug and play.
@@ToddTube1 I recently got a flier esc and had the same experience issues I put a smaller pinion and change the start up it helped. A bit but it still wasn't too smooth as my hobbywing systems and yes I agree on the max4 being double the price. But I just ordered one and I'm still going to keep the flier to use in a different application.
I know I'm late to the party here. But this is a very impressive esc for sure. I run the Castle XLX2 in my Xmaxx and Kra8. Both running 1100kv motors. But just ordered the max4 to throw in my Primal Raminator. And convert it to 12s. With a 500kv water cooled motor that i got with the electric conversion kit. The gas engine doesn't have the tourqe or power that this massive truck deserves. Don't think the XT90's would be a good fit. They do handle more then the 90amps they are rated for. But will probably pick up the Qs8 connectors for this power hungry monster of a esc.. sorry don't mean and disrespect but the power wire leads are 8awg wire not 6awg like you said sir. Simple mistake good video either way. Can't wait to see how it handles the Raminator keep on bashing and haven fun
Would it be okay to run a castle 1100kv motor on 8s only? It's technically a 10s rated motor, and hobbywing ESCs can usually support a wide range of KV ratings even though it isn't specified.
It could run it on 10s and 8s its all about gearing for the right rpm. And since the Max 5 Can run the castle 1100kv on 8s fine so this should be even better.
Xt90?!? How many amps does this thing deliver? I would think 120 amp rating would be the lowest youd want to go.... Is this just to compete with Castles XLX2? From experience ive had with the big Hobbywings, i think the Max5 is legit made for a 1/6 scale vehicle as it doesnt deliver the required amps of what most 1/5 scales want. That is why it is called a Max5 as its supposed to handle a maximum of 1/5 scale RCs, as the Max6 is rated for 1/6, Max8 for 1/8 and so on and so forth,am i right?
Definitely in the DBXLE 2.0. That's what I'm debating putting it in.
Amazing, I might use one of these combos in my future 30 Degree North Truck V2 Losi 5T clone maybe using a Stupid RC or Vitavon conversion kit.

I’ve heard castle 800Kv on 12s is where you see it’s true protential. My thing is are drivetrains going to be able to accept all this power.

How's the flier in the Dbxle is it working good,? No stuttering issues? Cogging etc
