    Jeff, can you fit into your busy schedule a quick (if such a thing exists), video on quality chargers, I am new to big electrics, and may have to upgrade my current charger.

      I can definitely do that! I’ve been thinking about doing a video on that for a little while now, but I will make it happen soon!

    I strictly fly nitro and have zero plans to fly electric any time soon but I still watched from start to finish. Always learning something new from you I'm so happy I found your channel a few months ago. You teach us heli addicts so much and we appreciate everything you do for us

      Yes the new one and the parts quality is really good as well as the fit and finish. It has a unique tail rotor assembly that I really like. Definitely worth the money.

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  7 місяців тому +1

      Thank you! Those plates come with the SAB kits 580,700. I believe you can buy them directly from them separately or you could just get some G10 sheets and make your own.

    Hi there Thanks for the video, Im a bit late to the show but I am brand new to electric models, I can understand this video but was wondering how to charge this pack now its a 12S?

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  5 днів тому

      @@WarrenApelt the same way you charge a 6s pack. It’s still two 6s packs. You can make them true 12s if you have a 12s capable charger.

    • @WarrenApelt
      @WarrenApelt 5 днів тому

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 So I just plug the charger into the lead that goes to the speed controller? (with the other one being hard wired together to make the series connection) which Balance lead would I use?

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  5 днів тому

      @@WarrenApelt No, it’s two 6s packs. The series connection is not hardwired. It is a connector which connector which can be unplugged for charging. If you make a true 12s pack then there will not be a series connection that can be unplugged and you would have one balance lead instead of two.

    • @WarrenApelt

      ahh i got it now thank you. I have the wrong connectors they have both male and email in the same housing arrgg that's why I was confused

  • @Lance57H
    @Lance57H 7 місяців тому +1

    YES! I was really hoping you were going to make this video soon. I have a bunch of 5000 6s packs I need to make into 12S stick packs. Where could I get that carbon fiber plate like that? Would it still be good if I used a piece of plexiglass instead?

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  7 місяців тому

      I hope the video was informative and you learned how to make them. It is very easy to do! That place comes with SAB kits. I believe you could buy them independently? But you could even get some G10 or carbon fiber sheets and make your own. Plexiglass would either be really thick or to thin and flexible.

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  3 місяці тому +1

      In all honesty, I’ve been very impressed. Still running them today and buy more as I need to replace other battery’s. Just ordered some more 7s and 8s packs. Going to build 14s stick packs and 16s for a speed build. Highly recommend them.

    if you shrink from one end only you will not get those marks.

    • @MP422ownz
      @MP422ownz 7 місяців тому

      It's hard to use that SAB heat shrink on 3300mah's the batteries are smaller so it doesn't shrink over them as easily.

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  7 місяців тому

      I’ll give that a shot on my next one. I know that the heat shrink is too big and makes it harder. I do it this way with smaller heat shrink. It never have a problem but! I’ll definitely give that a shot.

    Jeff, are you using the solderless S7 with 12 awg wire? or are those S6?

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  7 місяців тому

      Yes, they are S7. It’s not recommended to use 12g wire but I’ve found if you strip the wire back far enough to fold it over and Make it twice as thick they hold great. But soldering is definitely better.

      @westhobbiesrc8051  7 місяців тому

      @@lionelcregut1222 yes, you can definitely solder them it’s just a bit more work to get the solder in. You will have to go in from the back side and feed solder in.
