    This was a "war" we never should have been in. That being said, the men (and boys) who were sent over there were treated like dirt when they came home. The American public took out their hatred of the war on those who served. That was wrong! I want to thank ALL those who have served in any war for their service to this country. They deserve our thanks and respect.

    This episode provided an important lesson on how/why we forget others. Sometimes it's just time, but in other cases it can be from person or political reasons why we forget. But when key people forget, it allows wounds from trauma to fester & worsen. Jonathan made an important comment that when family forgot about Vietnam, it left those traumatized isolated from the critical memories & discussion necessary for their healing. I believe this is an even greater problem today for people needing to heal from a variety of traumas, while the witnesses, participants, and those responsible are often unwilling to remember & discuss and help those suffering heal from the trauma. This particular episode was about a father trying to establish a memorable fund for his son before he himself died, amid townspeople unwilling to remember and HONOR TRUTH and SACRIFICE.

      I think the graveyard in this video is Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona. I believe it was chosen due to the location, very little moisture, so things don't rust, pretty much a natural preserve for those old planes. There's a couple others in Arizona as well but I think they are for commercial airline planes, rather than military planes. Some I do believe are actually there stored and kept for parts and possibly repairs as well.

    I would think Johnathan wouldn't need light to see or have to read, but it seems like he's a lesser angel lower than Cherubim, Seraphim, etc.
    It would have been neat if at some point we saw Enoch(Metatron) and some six winged Seraphim. :{

    • @tetsuoswrath
      @tetsuoswrath 4 роки тому

      @@nolanboles8492 Nolan Boles wrong. Angels are not humans. There was one human that was made an angel, Enoch. But angels are a heavenly being basically robots Yahweh made as servants.
      I only follow the Biblical idea of Angels(Malachim). Not the pagan bird winged androgynous humans and babies.
      A cherubim is a frightening creature to behold, and can kill someone from how frightful it looks. It's not a pagan cupid baby fluttering around.
      A seraphim is a.brazeb serpent like being with four to six wings.
      The Malachim that don't have wings that appear as humans only do so for our understanding.
      This show is good and all, but it pushes Hollywood's idea of religion over the Biblical one. :{

      @@tetsuoswrath As with anything in the Bible, the nature of angels is open to wide interpretation based on the viewpoint of the individual. Their kind of like spiritual vampires in that way. That's the way I see it, anyway. You have a right to your own view point, of course. (I don't mix angels and Cupids, either, so we see eye to eye on that point. I don't see them as robots, though; that would inhibit their role as guides and helpers to humanity.)

      @@nolanboles8492 wrong again. The Bible specifically says the Bible isn't up to individual interpretation. It means what it means and there's only one right meaning.
      And the angels are fully described as robotic/servant beings that Yahweh made before us. They function as tools for His will.
      Spiritual vampire is a Levayan Satanist idea stemming from psychic vampires. If you can't tell you're being led astray with your loose view on the Bible and its meaning you need a friend to inform you. :{

    Yeah know, im stqrting to realize more & more that jonathan is no ordinary angel. He seems to be something of a death angel. This isnt the first time he randomly says says “oh i know them once” about some dead person. Plus we see him at least twice so far guiding someone over.

    As someone who is forever anti-war and as an immigrant to America I never really understood the fixation of Americans for military and soldiers. Having said that there are lot of layers to this story. The Vietnam War arc is just a contextual backdrop. In life there are many who die with not a soul to visit them to their grave. This episode highlights how deep embedded in human psyche are memories - subtle subconscious memories- of people touching each others lives through kindness. Take away the 'war' aspect, it is a beautiful message how even though we might forget - GOD REMEMBERS!

    Does anyone know why the 42-seconds in length bedroom scene that features
    Mark Gordon telling Jonathan Smith on numerous occasions that he can't sleep
    with the light on isn't included in the 48 minutes and 30 seconds in length
    extended version of this amazing episode? That scene starts at the 23:36 mark.
