- In the spring of 1945 allied troops occupy the whole of westphalia within a few weeks. The advancing troops are accompanied by small camera teams, that record the occupation on camera. Spectacular pictures show victory and defeat, the end of the war and new beginnings. The "LWL-Medienzentrum für Westfalen" used the US-Americans' recordings to produce a documentary that shows the end of the war out of the American troops' perspective.
We are releasing this documentary through eleven seperate chapters:

Man kann ja davon halten was man will.Aber aus Organisatorischer Sicht, ist das ja schon Wahnsinn was die hinbekommen.Wiso? Nun, vor einigen Jahren hab ich mal einen Bericht im Spiegel oder Focus über deren Logistik gelesen.Die sind wohl in der Lage, innerhalb von 86 Stunden, überall auf der Welt einen Flugplatz zu errichten.Das wird dementsprechend dadurch erreicht, das alles in Containern schon eingelagert ist Wie etwa Dieselageggrate für die Stromversorgung, Küchen , Unterkünfte, Maschinen(Radlader, Planierraupen)um die Lande-, Startbahn herzurichten und natürlich die Flugüberwachung.Sicher und das ist mir auch klar, geht es nur weil die so viele Stützpunkte betreiben.
Ich bin am 29.06.1945 in diesem Wirrwar geboren und kann nur dankbar sein ,dass meine Eltern mich grossziehen konnten.Danke,danke,danke!

Die Amis waren hoch überlegen.
Auch ihre Einstellung zum Krieg war hoch anzurechnen,man wollte Hitler stoppen.Gott sei Dank ist Ihnen dies gelungen.!!
Quatsch Die Amerikaner wollten die Dominanz über Europa als Wirtschaftsraum. Der Kriegseintritt war damals noch offen. Roosevelt hatte zunächst nicht die Mehrheit hinter sich. Das änderte sich erst mit Pearl Harbour. Hitler war in der US Großindustrie ein angesehener Mann. Die Familien Bush, Ford und Kennedey finanzierten den Wahlkampf Hitlers 1933.Deutschland zahlte bis 1945 pünktlich die Lizenzgebühren für Autos von Ford und Opel sowie andere US Unternehmen, wie IBM und Standard Oil beliefertenDeutschland.bis 1945
Es waren auch Amis, die Hitler überhaupt erst ermöglichten, dass sein WK überhaupt erst möglich war!

@@LWLMedienzentrum Volkswagen had a 'camping' bus named Westphalia. I downloaded all eleven segments but the whole video viewing instructions are in German.
Americans were used to large distances( the USA IS PRETTY BIG). THE Americans are used to a lot of different terrain( mountains, rivers, swamps, fields, ravines). Americans are used to different soils & temperatures( deserts, mountains, snow, heat, humidity, clay, sand, rocks, torrential rains). I believe this all helped in logistics. Plus Americans used to be good at quick thinking, improvising, finding solutions,etc.
A lot of Americans have a lot of German mixed in their blood......
we called this Gerry can juggling, been able to lift 2 cans each arm in the 70s in Brit Army on the Rhine
Brit Army was the No.1 Army in NATO in the 60s/70s tough/strong Men, i met them every year in Autumn somtimes small Groups on Footmarch, i remember their Backpacks were painful heavy in one case we gave them our Bikes for a while to transport the backbacks and accompanied them for few kilometers.
When i was a boy/Teenager in early 70s i searched a Chieftain Comp. ( Tank Regt.from Ulster/nothern Ireland) , i followed the Track marks with my Bike and found a Centurion ARV with an early mark Chieftain in tow in a small 90 degree bend on a dirtroad (Feldweg) for Tractors, the ARV was out of Fuel and a 1/2 hour later a Alvis Stalwart arrived full with Jerry Cans, the Guys throw full 20L Jerry Cans like snowballs from the Stalwart to the Centurions engine deck and begun to fill the ARV Cent. up with Fuel.
