This is the last video for a while I'll be showing you a new conjugation.
The next video is different. I’m calling it Life Lessons.
I went through the first few episodes of season two of Orange is the New Black, and picked out all the quotes involving the past tense.
In the next video, I'm going to show you those quotes, so you can see how the past tense works in real life.
You’ll see the preterite in action.
You’ll see the imperfect.
And you’ll see them both at the same time--in the same sentence even.
For me, that’s when the difference is the clearest.
But make sure you watch this video!
spanishdude.com/quickies/impe...
You'll understand the next video a lot better if you do.
Any questions, please email/message me.
Hasta luego!
Jordan

You are a very talented teacher and i love your classes. I used to use Rosetta Stone but your way of teaching more helpful
I love my daughter in law! And i wish one day i will be able to speak her native language
That's beautiful! That's the main reason you learn Spanish? Because you want to speak to your daughter in law? Little by little. Focus on just one phrase or sentence at a time. Even if it's just for fun or to get a smile/laugh. You'll feel great. One phrase at a time.
this dude really gets people ready right before game day
Haha, thanks! Glad I could help.
Dear Spanish Dude, your videos are awesome! Easy explanations, fun athmosphere, real results :) Please, continue making new videos, keep it up!!! I'm your regular fan!
I just want to say thank you for taking your time to teach these lessons. I work in Orlando, Fl and 80 percent of the customers are gringos. Thanks to your quick easy to follow examples and consistent practice at my job. My job became fun, easy, and a eye opener to many things i never knew. I can now add bilingual to my resume for more opportunities if i want. Also I practice my spanish in different scenarios when i handle my errands or just going to the store. Once again thank you for your gift in teaching and have a bless day.
Thnk you so much for this series! It's helped me massively in studying for finals.

I enjoy all your lessons. After a year of studying I went to Spain .It was brilliant! I’m not working hard because I’m in school, I hated school. I’m doing this because I want to . That’s the secret. I’m just lovin’ it.
Thanks Dude.
As always, great job! I really enjoy your videos!!! I have to confess I've never realized ir, ser and ver were the three only irregular verbs in the imperfect tense.

what about conjugations of the irregulars ir, ser, and ver
Shoots I may understand Spanish more than English! Amazing teacher
Gracias Señorrrr
How would u use poner in a sentence using the imperfect tense???
These are great lessons. Nobody has ever pointed out the patterns as you do before. They just say memorize. One problem when you say ´get the worksheet below´all I see are videos. Are there downloadable practice sheets?
infinitive + i + present tense AR conjugations (Except first person)
If the imperfect tense suffixes for -ar (1st conjugation) verbs include a “b,” why don’t the imperfect tense suffixes for -er and -ir (2nd and 3rd conjugation) verbs? Because the “b” in the imperfect tense suffixes for -er and -ir verbs is dropped for dissimilation of -er and -ir verbs with a stem that ends in a “b.”
Aren't the -ar and -er/-ir imperfect conjugations only different in what is in between the root and the suffix endings, i.e., -ar verbs have an "-ab-" and -er/-ir verbs have an "-í-" (with its accent, of course). For example, compare the frame within your video at 4:28. Everything is the same but the "-ab-" and the "-í-," no?
I think "you both used to learn" is not "aprendíais" for most Spanish speakers. I'd say "[ustedes] aprendían" meaning "you both used to learn". In my opinion "iais" and "eis" are endings that just people from Spain use. The rest use "ias" and "es".
I'd say:
"estés" and not "estéis"
"mirabas" and not "mirabais"
ETC, ETC, ETC.
But you can choose the version you like the most. You'll be understood with both ways.
Got a final tomorrow lol
Que horrible debe ser aprender español, gracias a esto veo el ingles muchisimo mas facil!
Awesome, Dude! Thank you. Esto es viniendo junto amablemente para mi!
