    I’ve had both the 2022 NX450H+ F Sport and the 2022 RX450H F Sport, and so I can provide my experiences and impressions of both vehicles.
    The NX is a terrific car, but for my needs it is too small. This is one of the reasons I traded it back for the RX450H. I loved the gas mileage of the NX. Most of my driving is local, so the 37 miles of full electric driving on a full charge was plenty to get my errands completed around town without needing to switch to hybrid mode. The NX had run-flat tires which are noisy and produce something of a rough ride on bumpy roads. I had considered changing those out for something that would give a smoother ride. I HATED the whine of the small 4 cylinder engine when driving on the long mountain pass I drive frequently. I was disappointed that Lexus did not make the Mark Levinson sound system available on the NX450H+. I love that sound system in the RX450H. I am a musician, so a great sound system is a must for me. I was also disappointed that the panoramic sun roof was not available on the NX450H+. Why, Lexus? Considering the price of the top line NX, the panoramic sun roof and ML sound system should be standard. Speaking of the entertainment system…I don’t understand all the hatred of the touch pad. 🤔 I actually like it. I have no problem operating it. Also, it eliminates my having to reach for the touch screen while taking my eyes off the road to tap the screen. In general I hate operating touch screens while driving. It seems that just as I go to touch the screen, the car hits a slight rough patch or bump in the road causing me to mis-cue the screen.
    As for power, the NX has plenty of it, as does the RX450H, but the RX’s engine is much quieter and smoother on the long uphill mountain pass I frequently drive. It doesn’t have to work as hard as the NX. This and the extra interior room of the RX - including a larger cargo area - are the primary reasons I switched to the RX. Road noise is much less in the RX, and the ride is much nicer - no doubt due to the longer wheelbase, heavier weight, and non-run flat Michelin tires. I also like having a spare tire - something the NX lacks.
    I am VERY pleased with the RX450H, and I haven’t looked back since the trade. I also looked at the newly released 2023 RX line. I was put off by two things: The ugly design of the front end, and more importantly, the fact that it is only available in various models of 4 cylinder engine. No 6’s available. BOO!! Since the RX is bigger and heavier, I’m imagining that having the same 4 cylinder engine as the NX will make it have to work even harder. I don’t want to have to turbo charge a 4 in order to get decent performance. Just give me that wonderful tried-and-true 6! My gas mileage on the RX450H is about 24-25 mpg around town and about 30mpg with freeway driving. Those figures suit me just fine - even with the stupid high gas prices we Californians have to endure. 😡

    Thanks Kevin for another informative video. Just to share my experiences of my new NX350h, after 20 days. The interior space is unbelievably more spacious than my previous 2020 GLC 300, I don't think I need a bigger car like RX. it's even bigger than previous NX. the hybrid system and transition to combustion engine is very seamless and smooth but as you said the engine sound is unrefined and clearly noticeable, but it's only very noticeable if you floor it, or when driving gently up to the speed of around 40-50 km/h, from there it becomes really quiet. the interior quality and implementation of the technology is worlds apart compared to my GLC which had a lot of creeks and noises and sensors would go off for no reason. It might be interesting but to me the handling and ride quality is very very close to our 2022 BMW 330i. our NX comes with 20" rims and is fully loaded. the fuel consumption in truly amazing. the infotainment system is a little glitchy as it sometimes doesn't get connected to your phone or Android auto. you need to turn the engine off, open the door to reset the whole system and turn back on for your phone to get connected. Lexus says they working on an update for this issue. overall, after owning more than 12 different cars and brands, I have never been this happy with a new car with all it's flaws. let's see how it holds up in the long run. thank again.

      Thank you for sharing this my friend! Yea I agree the NX is just massive and is honestly about as large as the regular 2022 RX featured in this video. Legroom and trunk space are great. Lexus has over the air updates so I’m sure they will fix the infotainment glitches. I’m super happy that you are loving your NX. Enjoy & cheers

      You don't need to turn off the engine and open the door and reset the whole system. All you need to do is press and hold the power/volume button (infotainment one) and the infotainment will reboot and reconnect.

    I own an 2019 RX350 and I was test driving an NX a few days ago. RX hands down is the better quality vehicle. I test drove the 2022 NX model…it seemed much smaller inside compared to the RX (and I know it obviously is smaller)…I could never get used to the NX knowing the RX existed.

    Hey Kev, let me tell you this. I few weeks ago a nice young lady asked me to tag along for car shopping. After her research online she really wanted an NX.
    But when she test drove the vehicle she really didn’t like it. She especially didn’t like the lack of refinement of the 4-cylinder engine for the price Lexus was asking for.
    So we drove a V6 RX & she was impressed with the growl & smoothness of the V6. She loved the size (she has one kid) but didn’t like the interior design. Next up was the Lexus ES sedan. Again she loved the refined V6 engine, size, & actually loved the interior as well. But the price they were asking was too high.
    After that I took her to an Acura Dealership. We test drove a 2020 Acura TLX SH-AWD with the 4-cylinder & 8-speed DCT combo. She loved how much more refined the Honda 4-banger & transmission were vs the Lexus variant.
    Next was a current model TLX. She loved how quick it was but didn’t like it wasn’t large inside.
    Lastly we test drove the current-Gen RDX. She loved the engine, transmission, interior size, overall design, & how how Acura gives away plenty of features for free! I got the price down to $38,900 out the door & she’s loving it!
    All-in-all, I think Lexus made a huge mistake when getting rid of their smooth V6 engine in the RX. The fact that a non-car person raves about it speaks volumes. Having a smooth engine thats, torquey, growls deeply while being fuel efficient are all luxuries.

    Got a GX. As you said in your prior reviews it’s a tank. New RX Approaching $60k for a buzzy turbo 4 is not good, and my dealer was not happy that the v6 was going, and he dd the new NX.

  • @SuperSaqer
    @SuperSaqer 2 роки тому +1

    The NX most definitely has the better power train in the 450h+ but it’s out of reach for most people. The tech is way superior. Not to mention the exterior design is better IMO. However, I have to admit the interior space is better on the RX. The glovebox area (dash?) acts like a table which is really nice if you’re eating or placing something there. That’s part of being a larger vehicle I assume.
    Quick note, our RX’s taillight design looks different here. The headlight somewhat too. The Qatar (or GCC) spec RX (and LX too) come with sequential turn signals.

    Seeing both of them side by side (the parking lot shot in the video) im actually amazed that NX doesnt seem to be much smaller.
    NX, when i see them driving around, for some reason looks much smaller than it really is. It even looks much smaller than rav4, even tho they are same.
    I guess the design somehow with optic illusion makes it smaller. Rav4 and outgoing RX have more rough edges and they look big and robust.

    Regarding cargo and spare wheel of NX: on the Europe market, there are also modest packages available like NX200(fwd) and NX250(both fwd and awd) which don't come with run-flat tires and have a spare wheel in the cargo (I own 2022 NX250 awd)

    Hi, I have a 2020 RX that is excellent but I’m looking to change over to the NX 350 H. I think in your review one of the things that is causing a big difference in the ride quality and noise between the two vehicles is those run flat tires Particularly with the 20 inch wheels. I ordered the NX a month ago and when I get it, I will get a full chance to examine it. When I test drove the nx with 18” wheels it seemed as smooth as my RX. The drive was short.
    But like when I got my RX the Ecopia tires made the car very unlexus like.
    So I changed to Perrelli Scorpion tires and the the ride etc is fantastic.
    If I get the NX I will most likely change tires again.
    Lexus continually messes up with the tires that they put on the vehicles. So I think if you had the same size tires and wheels on the NX as you have in the RX I think you would see how much better comparison.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  2 роки тому +1

      So they transitioned over to a in house built 10 speed and there doesn’t seem to be any crazy issues for most people its been out for almost 5 years now and I’m sure they continued to improved it over time. I just noticed with the acura products there is a delay in shifting down but for every day driving it seems fine I would def daily drive an A Spec RDX with SH-AWD

      My dad bought a 2016 Honda Odyssey and experienced a number transmission / slippage issues. Fucking Honda (can I say that?) put out some lame TSB that really only covers up the issue or delays it.

      @@notsodelusional oh wow I’m so sorry to hear that. Yea older model Hondas were plagued with transmission issues this is why I never understood why Honda has such a great reputation for reliability when in reality they are a lot like Nissan with their old Jatco CVT issues.
      I still think Toyota is the go to reliable brand even though they don’t drive or handle as well as a Honda product. I like them but I would only keep a Honda under its warranty period then I would get rid of it because they are also using turbo engines now.
