My neighbor purchased a 2023 Honda CRV hybrid for 46K. I purchased the 2023 Lexus NX350H for 50K in America. Both cars have excellent build quality and handling. The Honda is a slightly larger vehicle. The reason I went with Lexus is they offered a 14-inch infotainment screen and a Heads-Up display. The Honda came with a 9 inch screen. The American version lists the Lexus at 240 HP. Around town I get 41 MPG and sometimes higher. The Honda was about a mile per gallon less, but as I said, it is larger. Overall, both are nice cars, but for the small price difference, the Lexus gives you a more upscale vehicle.

Funny this video came out today! Just yesterday, I test drove these exact same three vehicles. I drove The RAV first and thought it was nice but wasn’t super impressed. Then I drove the Lexus and loved it, but felt like it was so fancy and maybe too much car for me, the last car was the CRV. I fell in Love with this one which I wasn’t expecting at all. It just feels sturdy and so quiet. I loved the way it drove, so easy. Honda is selling at MSRP and is throwing in the add ons at no charge and also giving me the roof racks for free. The Lexus would have been 10k more and the RAV 4 XSE was more expensive than the CRV sport L. I’m going today to pick it up.

I tried to get an NX350H for over a year. Fortunately I also ordered a Rav 4 Hybrid Ltd at the same time. The Toyota arrived 1st.
It's the exact same ICE engine , you don't have to put premium in the NX350H, the only difference is the NX350H has a larger electric motor giving it more HP, don't waste your money if you have an NX350H, put 87 in it.

Another option that should be mentioned is the Toyota Venza. You get the same engine/hybrid set up as the RAV4 Hybrid but in a nicer package (exterior and interior) but not at as high a price as the Lexus NX 350H. You lose a bit of storage space from the RAV4 but the Venza feels airier inside. I would have liked to check out the CRV Hybrid but it wasn't around when we got our Venza. But seeing what some reviewers/people have been getting mileage wise in the CRV, I'm happy we went with the Venza. After 2 years of ownership, we are averaging 41.1 mpg (5.72 L/100 km). Way better than we anticipated.

You will spend $10,000-15,000 more for the NX, with smaller carry space, and utility value. If you need to feed your ego, the NX is the way to go, but if you want the Best Buy, go for the CRV Touring Hybrid. We bought 2, first time we have not bought Lexus. Best buy for me is likely the RAV4 Prime. Beats all in all around specs. Has way to get $6500 off price as well. Doesn't look like a oversized mini van either like the CRV which is nice. Also has more all around features including plug in the back and quieter and MUCH QUICKER electric motor. 0-60 in 5.7 seconds vs probably 8+ on the slow CRV.
NX isn't for me though as I don't care about a bigger screen and supposed "better" interior when I get plenty with the Prime already.

I was going crazy deciding between the Audi Q5, Toyota Rav4( I already have a 2015 Rav4) and Lexus NX350. I pick up my lexus NX350 tomorrow. @@Msjuju20131 You dodged the Audi bullet.
Just the two most important metrics for smart buyers:
      - reliability: Lexus #1 vs. Audi #19
      - TCO (Total Cost of Ownership): Lexus #3!!! in low TCO, while Audi has a high TCO.
Lexus is the best entry luxury brand to buy for long term, Audi is a lemon (and Mercedes is an even worse choice).
Research for statistics and you'll never consider a German car on a list that - based on statistics - should have only Japanese cars on it.

The likelihood that the current iteration of the RAV4 will also see its final year in 2024, makes the argument even stronger to have included the soon-to-be defunct Venza at the end of 2024 in this comparison. Will the Venza's replacement, the Insignia, be as good a value against the next RAV4 model, or a better value against the NX ? Hope you'll do a video on that. The CRV sport FWD comes with blind spot monitor, sunroof, leather wrapped steering wheel, and touch start button, none of that is included in the Rav4 LE, and it's cheaper than the latter. With FWD, you get better mpg and you don't have to worry about the drive shaft. I'd go for the CRV basic trim when it gets a refresh for more reliability, since the Rav4 will be redesigned soon.

I own RAV4 Limited. My son has the CT which was the UX predecessor. The UX and CT are not really SUVs. They are more like wagons than SUVs. With only a slight improvement in mileage (3 MPG) over RAV or NX, it has less features, has MUCH less room, is much slower and has no off road capability whatsoever. (Front wheel drive only and over 25% less ground clearance). The UX is the Lexus entry vehicle and should be considered only if your budget won't support the NX.

    1. Carbon build-up potential (it has direct injection only, unlike Toyota/Lexus hybrid injection.
    2. No ventilated seats (and when we tested it only black interior was available). That rules out faux leather interior in California. So cloth only (lower trim, smaller screen), and black seats only too!

For me the winner is the Rav4 XSE with technology package. For parking the 360 parking is an excellent parking resource. Makes it easy to park in tight spaces and see around you when people unexpectedly walk in back of the car. The digital navigation is key for night driving. The digital display makes it easier for older drivers to see what is behind them at night. Also it has a heads up display. I like the ambient lighting features that the Honda does not have. Larger screen size is important for navigation, especially in busy cities like LA. The large screens are the way of the future for this reason. The larger screens allow one to have the 360 and parking path visible at once (this is key for me)With AI technology the screens will be partitioned to provide more useful information than we have today. Larger screens are easier to read for older drivers and are more 508 accessibility compliant.

Can I get a Diesel RAV4? I could run BioDiesel as well. This would get much better MPG and not be a complicated Hybrid System and have a Large Battery that would be a Expensive Replacement when the Hybrid Battery goes out.

Lets hope Toyota sort out the easy to steal in less than 2 minutes problem when they launch the new model. Hopefully the CAN bus will be less exposed and easy to plug into. No more thieves ducking under the near side front wheel arch and gaining access to the car.

Not sure about the Lexus, but the CRV hybrids are only rated to tow 1,000 lbs. The RAV-4 hybrid is 1700 from data I found. Does anyone know how the AWD systems stack up? It is clever to convert FWD RAV-4 (and I presume Lexus) to AWD by putting electric motors for the rear, as opposed to the CRV, which has the mechanical connection to the rear. Is one type of system significantly superior in low traction conditions or deep snow? The lack of a spare in a "SUV" is a little disappointing. Yeah, you get a "tire repair kit" with the CRV, but if you gouge a sidewall, that repair kit won't help. Then you have to ensure you've broken down in an area with cell coverage and roadside assistance, which you might wait hours for. Obviously if you are going to go far off road, you're going to have to think about an after-market spare, and a way to anchor it down so it doesn't fly around in a crash. The 1.5 turbo CRV does have a spare and tows 1500 lb. But for some reason, the NHV mitigation is more robust in the hybrid. Thanks for the video! I'm in beginning stages of research and shopping to replace my '14 Forester XT. Seems like the Lexus is likely to have the smallest cargo space of the 3, and maybe the smallest back seats too. Curious how much. (I'll look up the data.)

We looked at everything and then bought the 2024 Toyota Rav4 LE for $31,677 with all wheel drive in silver paint. Practical, reliable, great resale, roomy, great handling, quick, and 31 mpg. Everything we need and nothing we don't ! Plenty of horsepower and on regular gas. Now my son and daughter both want one of their own ! It's the smart buy. It took us eight months to decide and then...it was a no-brainer !

Asking for a Like and/or Subscribe is like asking for a tip--there’s a presumption that the delivered content is worthy of the requested gratuity. So asking at the beginning of the presentation assumes I will like what I’m about to see. Really? How would I know if I’m going to like it if I haven’t even seen it? Besides, just asking at all is reason-enough to not-like the video or not-want to subscribe to future offerings. If you’re going to beg for approval; at least wait until I have an opportunity to view the content, then decide if it’s worth-while.
