Faiyaz Murshed I remember messing with the settings on my old windows 95 computer from millions of years ago. Me, being 9 years old, did not understand much at all about the computer, but I did learn how to put the connect the tower, monitor, and power by myself and make it work! I had no internet on it but it was fun to open up the various games and MSpaint and draw stuff on it! One time I remember I was messing around with resolution, and found that if I make it into XGA (768x1024)60Hz the screen got really clear and crisp, but has HORRIBLE flicker, and making it really low, I think it was SVGA (600x800)@75Hz, the screen got almost flicker free but everything was blown up and blurry and soft. I think there were a fer intermittent resolutions but I cant remember. I chose something in the middle, and XGA for MSpaint. I miss the glow and vivid candy colors of the CRTs too. (but NOT that godawful squealing and flickering!!!!)
These were sold in Portugal from 2015 I believe, costing almost €800.00. 😱 Sales were so disappointing that I ended up buying two in 2017, brand new, by €160.00 each! By that time Blackberry was already going down, and my two Q10s were loosing function after function. As time passed, I concluded that it would be too late to press the Classics into service, so they remain in their boxes, brand new, unused, to this day. Meanwhile I retired my Q10s last month - March 2023 - after nine years of reliable use. They were capable of so little that they weren't even worth their size and weight. Besides, I found that their batteries had swollen severely, something which does not happen often with other brands and greatly displeased me. I always liked Blackberry, but nowadays I also feel a large amount of contempt for the brand. What a miserable end. Nevertheless, I still use a 9220 or a 9320 everyday, as communicator phones only, i.e. calls and texting, period. They're precious when my ageing eyes don't see my Samsung display in bright sunlight, and are reliable and pleasing devices, small, light, and with a great battery. My 9360 and 9900 were retired too, poor battery performance in both and too much weight and size for the capability provided in the 9900. My 9700 was also retired long ago, but because it is a work of art; by far the better manufactured and finished phone I ever had, I didn't want to lose it, drop it or put a scratch on it. It's Blackberry at its very best, and its battery is excellent.
Nothing beats a physical keyboard and with optical trackpad great mix. Shame iphone is all touch screen....the amount of times you miss the correct key is ridiculous. You dont seem to see a playstation controller touch screen do you? thats my point
+aloevera74 All it takes is getting use to. I can type easily now on my touchscreen without even looking at a very fast speed. I use to have the same mindset as you. But sadly, we can't have our cake and eat it too.. -_-
I honestly never even knew they still made phones, I was under the misconception they went bankrupt for some reason. A co-worker showed me his blackberry the other day and the features completely blew my mind!
Many errors. in this review. Opening an email is easy (press the email or press the track pad or press enter.) You can even search for the email and open it from the home screen. Heck users can even send emails or text messages from the home screen. Swiping right doesn't go to the hub. It goes back to whatever the user is currently working on in the hub. Clicking the hub icon saves any drafts and resets the hub. The reviewer missed hotkeys such as 'c' to compose, 'r' to reply 'f' to forward and 'l' to reply all. Doesn't make sense how he mentioned the reader mode and search trick then said 'it has no tricks.' ontop of that the tyles on the multitasking screen are great for multitasking. Trick is to open the few apps you need for work and leave them open. Every time you want to switch apps swipe up and press the app you want to switch to. Multitasking between apps messaging and phonecalls is easiest on BlackBerry 10. He mentioned something about marking items as read/unread as tricky. Thats not true either. Just click the gap that mentions the date and choose mark prior read or unread. The guy missed hot key speed dial and hub shortcuts also. Missinformative
Forgot to call him out on sideloading also. Users don't need to sideload android apps. Open settings, choose app management, select allow apps from other sources, then Just do a google search for the android app you want and write .Apk on the end of the search. If a user wants the entire google play store they need to sideload that.
Michael Dodd yeah quite agree, to be honest im a bit disappointed with the review, not that MF is a bad reviewer or biased or anything just a shortcoming on his part with the cons of the classic the rest of the review was quite good otherwise
He missed the hotkey shortcuts for next and previous email/message also. 'n' is next, 'p' is previous. Spoke about typing without mentioning autotext. (create your own typing shortcuts).
I work in finance and I use the BB for work and I like it. I think people are trying to compare it to an android or iphone and thats not what its intended for. Granted you can check FB, twitter, etc, like the other phones, but the goal is productivity and business enterprise services.
It would be good for blackberry to re-launch this model on the market in its Android version and with a more updated section accompanied by an update in terms of technical specifications
StrickenWithFear I'm thinking about getting the Passport. It's an expensive proposition that I will have to pay in full, since my provider doesn't stock them.
Any opinion would be great, im thinkg on getting the classic, i only use twitter, ig, facebook and text a lot ( 500 text or more) would you guys think is a good pickup? I currently have a htc m7
blackberry 10 is a delightful os,dont listen to people saying its a waste of money, its just aimed for a different bunch of people it wasnt made to please androiders who like to call any non-android a waste of money
I've got a Q10 which I'm looking at upgrading to a Classic as I feel it is what the Q10 should have been in the first place. I love the keyboard and tracking pad. Not a major upgrade but significant enough for me.
I am watching this today in June 2019. Great for photos, calls, and I even have working Whatsapp. I also own a Key 2 which totally rocks. But I am proud to say I still have my second sim in a classic.
People always say shit like "How old IS that phone?" and "Do they still make those?" Derp. I then point at their iphone 6 or S6/S7 and say "Isn't a thousand bucks a lot to spend to play Candy Crush?"
At 69 my fingers cannot handle a touch screen. But this Blackberry seems like a classic conduit between the young and old. I am going buy a Blackberry classic.
wish this worked better, want to go back to a keyboard phone. a phone where i wont use social media as much. not sure it can be done these days though cos a lot of people message on facebook now
I’m literally looking into buying a Blackberry Classic. I own an iPhone now but used blackberry phones before I got iPhones. They are extremely reliable.
Touch screens may be faster but I find that they lag more than an on screen keyboard. have so many experiences where have to wait for my iPad to type up my message even though I touched the keys
BlackBerry opted not to send us a review device, and our opportunity for timely coverage has passed. Sorry, but unless something changes, we won't be covering that one. ^M
Pocketnow Well that's too bad for them, I know for sure that I would have made everything in my power to try and make you review it. Maybe they don't believe that strongly in their product? Anyway keep up the great work Mr. Fisher!
Find a review on the Passport elsewhere. It's a great product. They actually feel strongly about the product because it sold well beyond their expectations so they had to reserve devices for users no reviewers.
CaptainDave Easy to exceed expectations when the ones you set are very low to begin with. You're only as good as your forecast. Was important to not overset expectations. BTW, don't get me wrong, I used the PP for a few months. Enjoyed it. Never fully committed to the unique square shape. I did not enjoy the 'handling'.
HAVE TO ADMIT this is a great phone for work! I can compare a black berry to a Chromebook. Chromebooks are for research and getting essays done or simply WORK. Against those high end entertainment laptops with a touchscreen and high resolution screen topped off with a high price tag. Then there's the black berry, a nice phone that reminds you that there is work to be done with a classic keyboard and a basic but not BASIC if you know what I mean, software. Against once again, high end and expensive touchscreen smart phones for pocket sized entertainment instead of pocket sized WORK. If I have to have a separate cell phone for jobs and work the blackberry is my number 1 go to phone. Nothing else gets the job done better when it comes to staying on task and getting things done. Hats off to the slowly returning black berry.
@pocketnow dont forget about triage in the hub. makes deleting, marking read, filing MUCH faster for multiple messages. also pinching on the hub will filter out read messages and only show unread.. also of course it has mark all prior read if you long press on the date.
Blackberry for life. Use mine cause I simply love the keyboard and emails come as soon as they're sent. Great communications phone. I also have Facebook and use the app on my bold. If you're the type to use snapchat and Instagram Blackberry is not for you but don't constantly bash people about there blackberry. It's personal preference. UNLESS YOU WOULD LIKE TO PERSONALLY BUY ME AN "android" or "iPhone" with your own money (;
having owned a Blackberry Z10 for over a year now, I disagree with some of the things being said. I have had apps "Force Close" on my just a couple times. NetFlix & HBOGo are Android apps and work perfectly fine for me. I don't notice hardly any lag or slowdown at all. I also have a handful of Android devices (including an S4 Mini which is pretty powerful) and I've not noticed much more speed difference in loading times of apps. I've never even seen that "Not responding" screen on Android apps that was shown on this video on the Blackberry 10 OS. I've never had a native Blackberry 10 app crash on me either. I don't have problems with notifications from FaceBook coming in later than they should unless I use a version of FaceBook thats in the Beta Zone, but then its kind of expected to have bugs because the software is in Beta.....my overall experience with Blackberry 10 has been positive and I never find myself wishing I had an iPhone or Android because lack of software or features......Blackberry 10 has been great for me and my uses.
Great review until his opinion of the phone's users at the end. He himself says that there are things that the Classic is amazing at (work, email, etc) and if that's what you do with YOUR phone, you SHOULD pick this phone. Instead he belittles those people. So odd.
***** "if you're going to be stuck in the past" isn't how I view myself when picking the phone that works best for me. But it's how all tech reviewers think about BlackBerry. This phone is utilitarian. Which is what millions of people actually REALLY need, only reviewers talk them into "modern smartphones" that DON'T suit their needs. The review was overall very good.
***** I have Z10, Q10, and Z30, but have been using only the Z30 lately. Waiting for the Classic. Pissed that I can't get the Passport. I hope Passport 2 comes to Verizon.
***** Are you kidding?! I had no idea AT&T didn't get it yet. I actually got an AT&T SIM card for a month to see if I could get reception at my work and home just in case Verizon didn't carry the Classic. I do get reception. I couldn't with T-Mobile.
Blackberry Classic is indeed a classic. It is best left in the display and talk about it, rather than use. One thing I like about the device is the feel in your hands. Nothing more.
I always thought that Blackberry OS was over thought and complicated. I see that even till this modern day the company hasn't evolved that way. They're still beautiful looking devices.
Sorry about that. Mic was stuck in the wrong recording mode and we didn't discover the problem until the editing phase. Corrected for future videos. ^M
I have an iPhone 6s+ and damn....I really miss having a blackberry, I'm going to get rid of this iPhone to get the BB classic. I only use my phone for emails and bills.
But u can delete Facebook. Now a days Facebook and whatsapp not supporting on BlackBerry 10. It's better choose other smartphone. For business purpose go for BlackBerry
Then u can buy mam..but please think once again because the OS is basically dead and there is no future update. This is mail ID subramaniasivas1@gmail.com
my classic will be here soon, and i can't wait. I'm switching over from a note 4, and I'm so over android and i will never touch a Ipaytoomuchforsomething that comes outevery9months aka (iphone) I had BB before those phones became popular and I'm glad I'm going back. I'm not missing out on anything since I have a tablet which I am very happy with.
loool. I'm in the same boat, ALMOST, I have a note 4, I'm buying a blackberry classic today as a second work/email phone. But I'm still going to keep my note 4 though. lol
I bought my first BB couple years ago. I always dreamed of it in the times, when I couldn't afford it. But one day, I bought my very first Curve 9360. Since then, I've tried various Android phone but man....I couldn't replace BB just like that. Getting Classic in few days and I can't wait. BB is just love.
Now try everything on a Blackberry Passport, with modern specs. Please do it. You will find BB 10 OS is very nice. This is a device aimed at bringing in the old Blackberry users from BB 7 into BB 10, that was its only purpose. The Passport is the device for the present users. Still a great review. And you are honest. But the Passport will impress you better, but I guarantee it wont change your mind about the OS. Some things just can be undone. If you don't like the interface, no matter how good it is, nothing will change your mind.
totally agree!! same with apps, who needs 10000 fart apps when one is just enough :D android brought forth alot of misconceptions and i dont like it when these misconceptions are applied to other platforms windows phone, ios and blackberry 10 have proven that they can run perfectly on older hardware unlike android BB10 is better than android in many ways imho and you can see why Android Lollipop tries so hard to copy BB10 features
Those excuses of " Its too big", is the weakest, histrionic argument there is. It fits In a pocket just fine. If it cant, maybe you should reexamine your fashion, because it would probably mean you follow instead of lead the pack. Just for comparison to real world devices.... It is exactly the same height and thickness of a Nokia Lumia 920. It is just 8mm wider than the Nokia Lumia 1520. (Yes, I do use Windows Phones as my daily devices.) Basically... If you want to blend in and just be basic, bland, and part of the same superficial groupings of society.... Them by all means, continue living your safe, boring lives. But if you desire to get things done, a device for work, for in-between downtime, and make a statement that you care about what you do, instead of just "fitting -in", then try a Blackberry Passport. But whatever, most of society is a dead husk of trivial drone bees circling their smartphones in patterns reminiscent of insects at a bug zapper. Most absorbing large volumes of media, getting nothing productively done with their lives, only watching what could of been, watching somebody else getting something done. Its honestly pathetic.
William Claypoole I was also looking at the passport, and i find it to big for everyday use in my hands reason why i got the classic. I mean thank god the passport isn't like the nexus 6 cause thats way to flipping big in my opinion.
The CONS: I kept getting these constant hotspot notifications about an "Xfinity" network. It's been happening since I went to the hair salon, but crazy thing is it's still on my phone as a possible wifi network and I have no idea how. Not to mention, every time I leave home I get those notifications letting me know "Xfinity" is available & it's beyond annoying & it's been about a week. I just got back home & decided to search online for how to stop it. Hopefully what I did works, but I won't know until I leave the house again since I'm connected to my own wifi here. ANOTHER thing I discovered today is the earphones that come w/ it. I went grocery shopping today so I decided to finally take them out of the box & open them up. I just assumed they'd fit so I didn't put them on until I actually got to the store...they literally fell out of my ears. I couldn't even place them in, b/c they would just pop right back out. This definitely ticked me off. ANOTHER con is that I had to delete my email from my phone the two days after I set it up. I checked my email on my laptop and realized that not only was I missing emails all together, but that the emails I was getting weren't going to my Inbox. This was a MAJOR problem!!! I NEED to receive my emails! Blackberry please get that together. The fact that I have a Blackberry & had to remove my email b/c I wasn't receiving them really rubs me the wrong way. Most of those who have a Blackberry handle business w/ it, so not having an email is an EPIC inconvenience. LASTLY, I was trying to send documents from my computer to my phone (Word, Adobe) & it wouldn't link. I was able to transfer my music & some photos so I'm not sure what's going on, but if anyone can help me w/ that I'd appreciate it. Other than these issues, I'd recommend the phone!
Brother, there is not another reviewer in the world that could get me watch a BB review but you, and enjoy it. BB is all but dead in the phone industry but your review was stellar as always. Great work, it's always a pleasure to watch your videos.
@PhreaKer Exept BBOS will soon be dead and Blackberry will stop supporting it. Even they acknowledge it that it has no future in the smartphone business since they switched to Android.
@PhreaKer It is not a loss really. It is just an OS that did not adapt as fast as its competitors and it deserved to fail. Hell, today's CEOs have a Samsung, Sony or an IPhone and Blackberry with Android of course. Times evolve.
I dropped my HTC One M8 on a hard surface and cracked the screen. Im taking advantage of their free screen replacement. However, while waiting, I have my SIM (with an adapter of course) on an old unlocked Palm Pre Plus. Its really making me miss that physical keyboard, and the early days of smartphones. Still love my Palm Pre...
UnrelatedNonsense so verizon is still using cdma?! thats crazy! i thought everyone switched to HSPA when cheap old Bell Mobility (here in canada) decided to switch towers. Suprised im not still pulling up an antenna on an old school CDMA phone honestly!
Camera software could have been better, I carry a BB Passport and it's somewhat annoying that autofocus is slow and its speed gets worse according to the environmental conditions. Besides that, I can say that with Classic and Passport you'll be at least 80% satisfied with it if it's something you do work with.
I owned blackberry z10, i would highly recommend blackberry. Blackberry os has convenience in mind. Although I'm an avid nexus/android fan, blackberry is my 2nd choice. Thinking of buying blackberry as my next phone again. :)
Love my Blackberry! i call it my 'just smart enough' phone. Like you mentioned the old saying, Its not a toy! And thats the best part. There isnt time in the day to fool around with a game or another app to share pictures. I'd rather look out the window between emails and text messages! ;)
I don't have any of the problems he had. I love my classic. And I have Google play on my device as well. I don't miss android or IOS. Hope blackberry keep up with the os cuz it's awesome. And using Google play til we get native apps are ok with me cuz I'm not missing anything. I'm Glad to be back on BlackBerry ever since I left when I had my first BlackBerry the 9700
BlackBerry doesn't need to be an Android phone. It's actually a secured Android phone in a nutshell. Besides BlackBerry Classic is mainly marketed to the legacy BlackBerry users. I'm an Android user and I gave BlackBerry Passport a couple of weeks. It builds on to you. To be honest I was also bored of same old iOS vs Android and wanted to try something new. It's not that bad. Just try it out and you'll know what it really is. You don't need such reviews to give you an opinion.
One of the biggest plus i see in this phone is a "darn" notification light. I just don't get why 600-700 dollar 💰. phones don't have it or at least have dedicated system settings for the one already(hidden) on the phone. So simple, but not used.
That is a bold name you have there sir. Secondly it can't have android software because it then it would be useless to enterprise and business users which is now the primary market.
StrickenWithFear couldn't express my opinion about this world any better than my username. I get the enterprise and business version. But they could have normal people version with pure android. I like the look of BlackBerry, except whats in it.
God Exists I actually agree with the username, believe me I do, it's just really bold. Also I like Apple and Blackberry's approach to things. You have windows phone and android which you don't have to buy from the original manufacturer and can be bought from who ever while blackberry and apple you have to get it from only 1 manufacturer. It levels the playing field.
StrickenWithFear God bless you brethren. I normally get the usual idiot, moron, etc thrown at the username. BlackBerry always catches my eye but i haven't actually owned one. Its just the look of it. Like a peaceful device. But it needs work to make me buy one. A lot of work, even from the review.
God Exists Are you supposed to say brethren to girls though? Anyway, I feel the same way. I really want to get one by this year and have a windows phone/blackberry combo.
They could have done better by either: A) Giving the Classic newer hardware by putting all the innards from the Passport into a more compact unit and putting the Bold 9900 keyboard on it. B) Giving the Passport a 4 row keyboard and optical trackpad. Either way, having 2 phones which don't cover all the bases does leave both a little half-baked.
haha that's why I've not upgraded from my 9930 I got years ago. I switched to a note 3 and missed texting with the keyboard. so I went back. I would take the 9930 over any new smartphone. internet is basically useless on some sites and opera mini does not work on any site anymore (back to the bb browser haha) but I would not change it for the world. it would be nice to get podcasts on the bb 9930 but that's what I use my note 3 for (hate touchwiz BTW. cyanogenmod ftw!)
What an outstanding review. The kind that helps a consumer chose a device in an educated way. Most reviewers today are trying to please cell phone companies or their fan base. Truly amazing. Thank you.
Couldn't care much about the phone but boy what a great review! i just stumble upon this channel and I realized that this dude is pretty good! I bet he wrote so much reviews on a magazine / blogs.
Just got it for work as a pre-release (i work for the company with three letters and a "&" in the middle)my personal is a galaxy s5. I work with technology but HATE technology. That being said, after two hours of having the classic...PRETTY NICE, classic and breath of fresh air and familiarity.

It can be switched to Android now.
Fisher's reviews continue to be some of the best in the industry, and they're only getting better.
I second that, his reviews are among the best I've seen here on UA-cam!
His reviews are even better than MKBHD, I don't know why MKBHD has more subscribers. Michael should have his own UA-cam channel.

Guys, please stop trying to stir up arguments. I never mentioned Marques.
I'm not sure why this video appeared in my feed this April 2024, but I still watched it.

dcwvwvee jdndkljnkldn yea yeah i prefer old ones
freaker126 Then still use it!...You don't have to use android or apple just because everybody else does.
This phone looks amazing. It looks classy and like it's strictly for business and it will last a really long time! #A+

Best comment! Never moved away from BlackBerry since I used a passport in 2016 ...now using a keyone.

Dear BlackBerry, please make phone with Classic looks and Passport specs. Thanks in advance I'm gonna buy it :)
yes, by the way, with a removable battery!
+BadName Your wish just may come true. Rumor has it the BlackBerry 'Vienna' is on its way in 2016. Google this for photos. ;)
wish granted mate, theres the keyone
Keyone is a bit big dont you think? :(
Blackberry is my dream mobile phone 😢
Nothing beats a physical keyboard and with optical trackpad great mix. Shame iphone is all touch screen....the amount of times you miss the correct key is ridiculous. You dont seem to see a playstation controller touch screen do you? thats my point
+aloevera74 All it takes is getting use to. I can type easily now on my touchscreen without even looking at a very fast speed. I use to have the same mindset as you. But sadly, we can't have our cake and eat it too.. -_-
+Murk Ambiguity Thats a lie
Edwin Montanez Well if you want, I can prove it. But it will look pretty dumb if I make a video of me doing it, it's not like its anything special.
+Murk Ambiguity True, it's not hard.
Fast and accurate fingers do.
I wish I could use this today. We need to go back
I would buy that as second phone
For writing yes
Struwex same
yeah sometimes i feel i need a keyboard to quickly write an essay homework i was too lazy to do at home
same
I honestly never even knew they still made phones, I was under the misconception they went bankrupt for some reason.
Michael Dodd yeah quite agree, to be honest im a bit disappointed with the review, not that MF is a bad reviewer or biased or anything just a shortcoming on his part with the cons of the classic
the rest of the review was quite good otherwise
He missed the hotkey shortcuts for next and previous email/message also. 'n' is next, 'p' is previous.
Spoke about typing without mentioning autotext. (create your own typing shortcuts).
Downloading an app to your pc. Plugging in the phone, dragging and dropping is side loading.
Bruce Banner U win
Had a random dream I had a blackberry. Can’t get the idea out of my head so just bought a classic on eBay!
Where I can get this mobile phone with newly unboxed?
A very much needed 2018 revamp of this phone is much needed.
Very clever and enjoyable review. Thank you. I really wish physical keyboards would make a comeback...
Just bought A blue Classic. So happy!. Back to BB!..
I personally use a Blackberry 9900 paired with a Galaxy S5, the 9900 is my workhorse and my galaxy S5 is my playmate. lol
Are you going to upgrade at any point?
StrickenWithFear I'm thinking about getting the Passport. It's an expensive proposition that I will have to pay in full, since my provider doesn't stock them.
Photographic Time Ah, well I hope that works out for you. Personally I want a windows phone/blackberry mix.
StrickenWithFear Personally I'd prefer it work more with Android, since I use a Galaxy s5 as well.
Photographic Time I'm tired of using android and I happen to love most microsoft products like windows phone.
"the tactility of the whole experience elicits a sense of the familiar" love it
Any opinion would be great, im thinkg on getting the classic, i only use twitter, ig, facebook and text a lot ( 500 text or more) would you guys think is a good pickup? I currently have a htc m7
Keep the M7 but still get the Classic.
The Classic is a really good device. Get it if you wanna. My Dad uses the BB Passport but played around with the Classic before he got it.
Keep the M7. Waste of money to switch
blackberry 10 is a delightful os,dont listen to people saying its a waste of money, its just aimed for a different bunch of people
it wasnt made to please androiders who like to call any non-android a waste of money
The bb classic is a good pickup
I've got a Q10 which I'm looking at upgrading to a Classic as I feel it is what the Q10 should have been in the first place. I love the keyboard and tracking pad. Not a major upgrade but significant enough for me.
I am watching this today in June 2019. Great for photos, calls, and I even have working Whatsapp. I also own a Key 2 which totally rocks. But I am proud to say I still have my second sim in a classic.
Please tell how I use WhatsApp in blackberry classic
I'd love to have the Non-Camera variant, I missed phones like this. I definitely gave applause to Blackberry for making its heyday return.
I have an iPhone 6 but i wouldn't mind going back to a Blackberry
Same or just have both
+Michael G same. Me and my co-worker want to switch back.
+Michael G Would you go back to a brick phone, Lol !
DR N it's a pretty good phone for business. I have a laptop for everything else.
I have a note 4 and I want to go back to BB. I'm just going to buy tablets from now on. like the tab 4
Very honest review. Keep up the great work Michael!
wish this worked better, want to go back to a keyboard phone. a phone where i wont use social media as much. not sure it can be done these days though cos a lot of people message on facebook now
Eliza Kate It does. There's been plenty of updates since this device.
+Eliza Kate You just need to tell any important contacts NOT to send business or planning messgaes on FB, that's what I do.
+Radiant Jasmin just buy an iPhone and blackberry for both of your uses
Such a good looking phone. Hasn't aged at all
2:10 "...easier and faster to position a cursor..."
Proceeds to entirely misplace cursor.
I’m literally looking into buying a Blackberry Classic. I own an iPhone now but used blackberry phones before I got iPhones. They are extremely reliable.
I have the Priv now, and I pray... I wish every night... BlackBerry Classic featuring... Wait for it... Android! BB Classic + Android? Yes.
Touch screens may be faster but I find that they lag more than an on screen keyboard. have so many experiences where have to wait for my iPad to type up my message even though I touched the keys
Ditched the iphone and got this. love it!
same here!
I'm considering on getting this device, but if I were to travel to another country would everything work?
When will we get a review of the passport? Very curious to hear your opinion about this one!
BlackBerry opted not to send us a review device, and our opportunity for timely coverage has passed. Sorry, but unless something changes, we won't be covering that one. ^M
Ibraheem Productions Thanks for the suggestion, but that's not how we roll.
I just bought one on eBay, I’m upgrading from the curve.
Blackberry for life. Use mine cause I simply love the keyboard and emails come as soon as they're sent. Great communications phone. I also have Facebook and use the app on my bold. If you're the type to use snapchat and Instagram Blackberry is not for you but don't constantly bash people about there blackberry. It's personal preference. UNLESS YOU WOULD LIKE TO PERSONALLY BUY ME AN "android" or "iPhone" with your own money (;
+knnoneill1016 You know! I should say that to my son when he makes fun of me for my Blackberry!
What are the earphones you mentioned? Are those LG 730s? They any good? Please suggest.
having owned a Blackberry Z10 for over a year now, I disagree with some of the things being said.
I just bought a second-hand one yesterday ❤️
hey does it lag? planning on buying one for college. less distractions and more studying
@@jchung5066 yes. It does lag when using android app. It's like owning a 2016 phone in 2020. But for texting, calls, browsing, it's good 👍
Great review until his opinion of the phone's users at the end. He himself says that there are things that the Classic is amazing at (work, email, etc) and if that's what you do with YOUR phone, you SHOULD pick this phone. Instead he belittles those people. So odd.
... only if you interpret "living in the past" as necessarily negative, in which case I don't think the problem is with the video.
It's a negative... sorry. I don't use trackpads and can understand why someone would want it.
If you haven't touched BlackBerry since legacy OS.. you really have no idea what BlackBerry 10 is.
I'm just judging on what I see, the last blackberry I had was a pearl so you might be right
CaptainDave you are right!! coming from someone who went from 9790 to BB Z10
Sergio Velasco black berry hub is the best thing that ive ever had on any phone
18% Discount for BlackBerry Classic > amzn.to/1TT4zbj
Watching this in 2018 and I didn't know Mr Mobile worked for PocketNow. 🤔
Whoa, Michael sounds different
Sorry about that. Mic was stuck in the wrong recording mode and we didn't discover the problem until the editing phase. Corrected for future videos. ^M
+kao kwong what company you have???. Sell it to me. :-)
+kao kwong well that was stupid.
f. efn
+kao kwong some of ur frnds or relatives would have changed its password
Just ordered This Yesterday! Perfect professional phone for my Janitorial Services Business!
Where is available this phone...?
I have an iPhone 6s+ and damn....I really miss having a blackberry, I'm going to get rid of this iPhone to get the BB classic. I only use my phone for emails and bills.
Amy Xiong Blackberry is perfect for you
Is it possible to delete apps that come with the phone, like the browser, facebook, etc?
No mam..
But u can delete Facebook. Now a days Facebook and whatsapp not supporting on BlackBerry 10. It's better choose other smartphone. For business purpose go for BlackBerry
@@subramaniasivas7170 Yeah, I just need calling and texting, but need that keyboard ;) Internet and facebook are too distracting.
Then u can buy mam..but please think once again because the OS is basically dead and there is no future update. This is mail ID subramaniasivas1@gmail.com
Can you mail me mam?
my classic will be here soon, and i can't wait.
But I'm still going to keep my note 4 though. lol
kninez nice. I got a tablet instead for a bigger screen
TheNo85307 it is life
chillin santa So sad that BB will stop making phones :/
Anyone else hooked on Michael Fisher's reviews?!
BB passport it's too big to hold everyday...
totally agree!! same with apps, who needs 10000 fart apps when one is just enough :D
android brought forth alot of misconceptions and i dont like it when these misconceptions are applied to other platforms
windows phone, ios and blackberry 10 have proven that they can run perfectly on older hardware unlike android
BB10 is better than android in many ways imho and you can see why Android Lollipop tries so hard to copy BB10 features
(Yes, I do use Windows Phones as my daily devices.)
Basically...
Its honestly pathetic.
patrick jackson Finally someone else who sees my point as well.
Other than these issues, I'd recommend the phone!
can i play a music from you tube at the same time chatting with my friend's on Facebook
congratulations, now you can. just subscribe to UA-cam's monthly bill and you can play songs while the app is minimized.
Brother, there is not another reviewer in the world that could get me watch a BB review but you, and enjoy it. BB is all but dead in the phone industry but your review was stellar as always. Great work, it's always a pleasure to watch your videos.
I would love to have a blackberry classic on android lol
PhreaKer which blackberry do you have currently?
Get a BlackBerry KEYone. That is what I am using now in 2018
@PhreaKer Exept BBOS will soon be dead and Blackberry will stop supporting it.
I really REALLY want this phone, sadly I am bound to Verizon and they don't make a CDMA version :(
Here we go m.crackberry.com/blackberry-classic-appears-set-arrive-verizon-february-26th
UnrelatedNonsense so verizon is still using cdma?! thats crazy! i thought everyone switched to HSPA when cheap old Bell Mobility (here in canada) decided to switch towers. Suprised im not still pulling up an antenna on an old school CDMA phone honestly!
18% Discount for BlackBerry Classic > amzn.to/1HlF6Uu
Camera software could have been better, I carry a BB Passport and it's somewhat annoying that autofocus is slow and its speed gets worse according to the environmental conditions. Besides that, I can say that with Classic and Passport you'll be at least 80% satisfied with it if it's something you do work with.
Who cares about apps. The phone does everything I need.
2021 visit.
BB Classic is still my daily driver. Simply, the best possible phone ever! :)
I owned blackberry z10, i would highly recommend blackberry. Blackberry os has convenience in mind. Although I'm an avid nexus/android fan, blackberry is my 2nd choice. Thinking of buying blackberry as my next phone again. :)
what made you leave the Z10 for a Nexus ? and why are you considering leaving Nexus for BB10 ?
Love my Blackberry! i call it my 'just smart enough' phone. Like you mentioned the old saying, Its not a toy! And thats the best part. There isnt time in the day to fool around with a game or another app to share pictures. I'd rather look out the window between emails and text messages! ;)
I want this classic 2017...upgraded...
I love BlackBerrys! If I could find a BlackBerry that's NOT on Verizon Wireless, I'd toss my S6 into the phone chest and go back to the BlackBerry.
actually, Blackberry has good quality *plus* it has a headphone jack
#thebetterfruit
Using it happily in 2022.
I don't have any of the problems he had. I love my classic. And I have Google play on my device as well. I don't miss android or IOS. Hope blackberry keep up with the os cuz it's awesome. And using Google play til we get native apps are ok with me cuz I'm not missing anything. I'm Glad to be back on BlackBerry ever since I left when I had my first BlackBerry the 9700
+Lavonte Bush what about battery life?
Excellent review! I've been tempted to get this phone to relive the old school Blackberry days.
Shut up... I still use Nokia 6300.
Elton Fir Omg I had one!
i'm still using 6300 lol. i feel myself different
I use 6300 its do good but black berry classic is outstanding
And i still using classic
Jesus Christ does Michael Fischer know how to do a review!!! Hopes that Joshua Vergara does a classic review so we can pit them against each other.
Blackberry Smartphone 2015
BlackBerry doesn't need to be an Android phone.
It's actually a secured Android phone in a nutshell. Besides BlackBerry Classic is mainly marketed to the legacy BlackBerry users.
I'm an Android user and I gave BlackBerry Passport a couple of weeks. It builds on to you. To be honest I was also bored of same old iOS vs Android and wanted to try something new. It's not that bad. Just try it out and you'll know what it really is. You don't need such reviews to give you an opinion.
7:18 . Damn...that sp3 looks too sexy!!
One of the amazing phone blackberry ever released
I LOVE BLACKBERRY !😎😎😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😜😜😚😚😚❤❤❤❤
blackberry rules 😎💫💖
2024 and still want one and also Passport :-(
I want that phone SOOOO MUCH!!!!!!
One of the biggest plus i see in this phone is a "darn" notification light. I just don't get why 600-700 dollar 💰. phones don't have it or at least have dedicated system settings for the one already(hidden) on the phone. So simple, but not used.
Wow.. BlackBerry. I had to watch this video.😂
All it needed was android os and a little high end hardware.
Very very unbiased review of blackberry classic... Almost mentioned each and every pros and cones,... Thank you pocketnow...
It's 2017 and I still want this but society won't accept it.
Using a blackberry classic as my secondary device while my keyone black edition is my primary device.
I watched this in 2016, lol.
GuuzakaTube me too :))
They could have done better by either:
A) Giving the Classic newer hardware by putting all the innards from the Passport into a more compact unit and putting the Bold 9900 keyboard on it.
What a perceptive comment. I totally agree
What an outstanding review.
The kind that helps a consumer chose a device in an educated way.
Most reviewers today are trying to please cell phone companies or their fan base.
Truly amazing.
Thank you.
yet to see a person who can beat you in reviewing stuff Mr.Fisher, love your work..!!
Couldn't care much about the phone but boy what a great review! i just stumble upon this channel and I realized that this dude is pretty good! I bet he wrote so much reviews on a magazine / blogs.
I dunno what's so special but pocketnow videos are just awesome
I love PocketNow videos esp by Michael Fisher -- they make watching and listening to reviews a narrative journey!
Just got it for work as a pre-release (i work for the company with three letters and a "&" in the middle)my personal is a galaxy s5. I work with technology but HATE technology. That being said, after two hours of having the classic...PRETTY NICE, classic and breath of fresh air and familiarity.
