great video I feed mine barley grass 8 bins and seeds 7 days later and you have barely grass for 10 rabbits. my plot 10x10 area I grow mine own barley last all year and have some to plant next year 1 pound of seeds makes 5 pounds of grass....winter barley...
you're doing the right thing with supplementing the food that I do not grow the black soldier fly to for the chickens they break all the produce and stuff we have left over but for the rabbits it's good to do that what you're doing with the apples and everything that's probably why you're getting a good productive right there if everybody is eating just right there going to start breeding
I am going to have to get a commercial set up with a flush system the cages I built per other’s on utube are flimsy and my does have leaned Houdini secrets on busting out. Is 30x36 big enough? Don’t want my does feeling stressed for room
Awesome rabbitry. Only thing that would make it better in my opinion is more heritage breeds like the American Blues or whites, the American Silver Fox, or American Chinchillas. Really anything on the livestock conservation website listed as endangered. I think Californians and new Zealands are way over rated and find the heritage breeds to be much more rewarding. Feel like your saving a piece of history. and from my personal experience the heritage breeds have great temperaments for pets as well. I love my buns they are so much fun.
I have a few questions. How many Bucks do you have for breeding duty? Are you going to sell to a commercial outlet? Process them for the pot? OR sale as many to individuals and stores? I have a small bunch that I might grow into something larger.
I know its easter, hoping I can get an answer though. I just slaughered a rabbit, don't really know what I am doing and I got a little urine and a little feces on the meat. I'm not looking to freeze the meat, i just want to rotisserie. Is it safe to eat? I've been soaking it in a cold water bath.
this will be my first summer with meat rabbits. but im worried about fleas. how would i go about treating them and safely eat them? i wouldnt eat them with fleas
Your gonna be sooo busy just keeping the grow out pens well food supplied as the 4wk olds get pulled from does --average 8 young per doe ,,Rabbit meat is wonderful and easy to raise . I wash very well all produce before I give out to bunnies to wash off any pesticides ,ect. Some plastic pop bottles will screw on the nipple water tubes if you run short --I just swap a double set of bottles around -frozen to thawed was easiest ,,automated systems just freeze and break -cheaper to feed 2 preg does than one house cat ,but the cat keeps the mice cleared out saving my feed pellets too !! 4 does keep my freezer full all year and on the table 2/3 times a week and in lunch box too.
About once every other month one rabbit may start to get weak with a 30% change of dying. For the numbers that we feed most do great and do not want other food.
8-12 years, they are also very active and do really need more room than what this guy gave them. Also if you're going to house on wire floor you need somewhere they can get off.
Originally we planned to produce 200 lbs per month. Since this video we have scaled down to 40 lbs per month and selling young rabbits to people that are just starting up.
So are these cages just for the breeding rabbits right? you would have a large grow out pen for the babies, where you put them after 4 weeks with the mother, and then kill them at 8-12 weeks? I am wondering, trying to start doing this.
Plz bro, tell me what is the average breed of female rabbit in a year? and what is the best season for this? and What is the best breed kind for this? and Can a female breed for whole year?
If you give your doe a break between litters she will kid for longer and probably live longer. You can breed them the day after they give birth for 2-3 years before they are bad mothers or burn out on breeding (infertile) Rabbits do not go into heat and after the does eggs mature they will have babies in all seasons. It's harder to breed a new mother in winter she might not keep the babies warm. Californians, New Zealands, and Rex rabbits are best and will reach 10-14 lbs
ok thx I am wanting to start meat rabbits but not have as much if u ever visit Bemidji MN email me I would love to start rabbits thx again I would also like it if u could tell me how much it is to make a cage like that
eei ya how are you going to eat them if they are not dead. they are not pets but meat rabbits, same as beef, pork, chicken etc hope this will not upset you BigAl
this guy has the space to create proper enclosures for these animals. recycled materials cost nothing. I dont believe in animal farming and don't eat meat, I dont expect the same of others but I do expect proper living conditions. these animals don't want to live like this.
shimmyshanka you don't know what you talking about.. Learn how to do it then criticize. These rabbits are for the pot not pets. Rabbits burrow and breed prolifically so if they on a fenced plot of 1/2 acre..approx 2000m2 35 does within one year can reach almost 2000 rabbits causing starvation. If one gets sick then all do. Unfortunately there is no way that is the right way. Find a way that is more humane then come back and show us the light.. Perhaps he could have smaller gauge metal cloth so that it's more comfortable on their feet.
no I thought I'd pass this along you know this lady I know this black lady I met really smart lady was rabbits she had them all in the nipples system with water give them to her to the animals right off the spicket or she could turn it on and off for have it running to they could get what they needed not only that she had this cattle pellets what's a real big you know you get them for cows she said they don't waste none and you have a lot less mess at the end and you can shovel up the rest and sell it to people the manure but I saw in the background you're feeding them either cabbage or lettuce you're getting from specific place
I fed a couple of apples to litter of grow outs once and I ended up with a dead rabbit. My rabbits only get pellets, hay, and fresh grass. Anything with a lot of sugar in it like apples and carrots is going to cause bowel trouble.
Bunny Lover look like healthy well taken care of animals to me. I prefer community rabbit living enclosures but use cages for aggressive or bully bunnies too. It would require very large space with lots of hiding spaces to support a heard of this size. Rabbits can be very territorial. Welcome to the real world where everything isn't butterflies and rainbows. Maybe if bleeding heart liberals didn't protect all the decent land in America we could afford enough space to raise them in better spaces but things aren't free and sometimes you just have to do what you can. Must be nice to sit around in the A/C while someone else grows your food, someone else builds your home, and someone else entertains you. All personal responsibilities this culture puts off on others. Gtfoh you bleeding heart libtard tree hugger.
Holly Charlotte its a brassica(mustard greens, kale, canola all the same species) they contain an acid that is toxic to rabbits. Do not feed it often or it can build up in their livers and kill them.
Go look up oxalic acid. Its poisonous to humans too. We are just much bigger and don't eat proportionally as much as rabbits. All brassicas produce it. Mustard greens and broccoli are both brassicas. Most brassicas that people eat are very low in this acid. rabbits can not excrete this acid so it builds up in their bodies over time becoming toxic. Depending on the conditions the plants are grown can also have an impact on the amount of acid present. It's an ok sometimes food or treat but not an everyday food. It's toxicity can also very by individual person or animal. I've had several customers who could not handle brassicas due to this acid. A few were rabbit breeders and warned me about it. As I was growing quite a few exotic brassica greens at the time.
Giuseppe u have no soul or a heart plus wired cages do hurt there feet they can get sore hocks and would you like it if you had to stay in a wired floor cage your whole life then get kill and the I eat YOU And treat you like your nothing!
I didn't see them but there are mats you can put in there for them to lay on at their choosing. Nesting boxes are also a great way for them to get off the wire.
I finally finished my rabbitry. Got some great ideas from your video. Thanks so much.

Good job man well done yes feed them hay
We may this winter, but last year it was not really a problem for the rabbits.
you're doing the right thing with supplementing the food that I do not grow the black soldier fly to for the chickens they break all the produce and stuff we have left over but for the rabbits it's good to do that what you're doing with the apples and everything that's probably why you're getting a good productive right there if everybody is eating just right there going to start breeding
Wow!!! I have 12 rabbits. And I breed!! I have 1 littler atm and I’m expecting 2 more litters soon 🤗
I shudder at the thought of watering 30 rabbits individually. I only have 7 and it's a chore to do bowls.
Me too lol. I have 8 with individual waters
just a tip. crocks that hook to cages take a bit long to freeze and when they do the bunnies learn just to like the ice for their water supply
Can you do a video on the measurements of your cages and rack?? What angle is your pop chute at?
I am going to have to get a commercial set up with a flush system the cages I built per other’s on utube are flimsy and my does have leaned Houdini secrets on busting out. Is 30x36 big enough? Don’t want my does feeling stressed for room
That's a lot of baby bunnies!
Can't wait for more updates!

nice setup you got here!
Talk about alot of litters of rabbits! Wow! Congrats! what breeds do you have? New Zealands?
Nice Rabbitry. Are you going to enclose one end so as to not have a wind tunnel ?
I'm getting ready to build my rabbitry here at Pine Meadows Hobby Farm. Checking out UA-cam vids for ideas. Thanks for sharing.
How long does it take to find homes for all those babys
How much rabbit food do you go through a week
What are the measurements for the dimensions on your cages? Looks like a really good setup and id like to copy it only on a smaller scale.
I have a few questions. How many Bucks do you have for breeding duty?
Are you going to sell to a commercial outlet? Process them for the pot? OR sale as many to individuals and stores?
I have a small bunch that I might grow into something larger.
what you got the ideal temperature for them here in Florida gets really hot
I am working on getting started with rabbits and was wondering at what height did you place your feeders in your cages looked like 3 or 4 inches?
4" works good, that was height of the baby saver screen.
Thank you.
you all so need take water bottle put warm and ice will melt give bottles back to rabbits
Lots of New Zealand whites?
Do you feed them hay too?
How many bucks do you have?
So i know this was a long time ago... but wanted ti ask how did you work out the deal for the food? Do you pay for the bad produce or is it free?
Rule #1 never pay for anything
I know its easter, hoping I can get an answer though. I just slaughered a rabbit, don't really know what I am doing and I got a little urine and a little feces on the meat. I'm not looking to freeze the meat, i just want to rotisserie. Is it safe to eat? I've been soaking it in a cold water bath.
this will be my first summer with meat rabbits. but im worried about fleas. how would i go about treating them and safely eat them? i wouldnt eat them with fleas
Chris Aguilar Dust them with food grade diatomaceous earth. Be sure to keep out of their eyes and lungs. Yours as well.
Hahaha a wouldn't eat them with fleas 😂😂😂😂😂😂 am literally on floor 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Who did you get your feeders from?
Your gonna be sooo busy just keeping the grow out pens well food supplied as the 4wk olds get pulled from does --average 8 young per doe ,,Rabbit meat is wonderful and easy to raise . Do u get all that produce for free and if yes how?
Have you had any issue with bloat feeding cabbage and broc.?
About once every other month one rabbit may start to get weak with a 30% change of dying. For the numbers that we feed most do great and do not want other food.
iamdrglass
WHAT DO U DO W/ ALL OF THEM?
They are meat rabbits on a working farm what do you think they do with them?
s buchanan I now right!
I am very interested in keeping rabbits for self reliance..What is the average life of rabbits? You have an amazing set up! Thanks
1994abbygirl 8-10 years
8-12 years, they are also very active and do really need more room than what this guy gave them. Also if you're going to house on wire floor you need somewhere they can get off.
They can breed well for does 4-6 years and bucks 6-8 years. After then they're just sunk in feed
We sell to individuals.
what are you doing with rabbit manure? feeding your worms?
+Greg Boshell you can use rabbit manure for plant fertilization like if you have a garden and rabbit manure is actually good for plants
How much meat are you planning to produce with this?
Originally we planned to produce 200 lbs per month. Since this video we have scaled down to 40 lbs per month and selling young rabbits to people that are just starting up.
how many rabbits does it take to prodice the 40 lb?
So are these cages just for the breeding rabbits right? you would have a large grow out pen for the babies, where you put them after 4 weeks with the mother, and then kill them at 8-12 weeks? I am wondering, trying to start doing this.
Johan Eichmann u are cruel
Eliana Suprunyuk you eat cows or pigs or chicken?
Cruel reality for the bunnies. Wow.
do you produce more meat than you can eat? Do you know how many rabbits on average you butcher a year?
Prob a lot. But he might also sell that meat to other people too.
What breed rabbit makes the best meat rabbit?
New Zealand White. 🐇
Plz bro, tell me what is the average breed of female rabbit in a year? and what is the best season for this?

Poor rabbits! So cruel to keep them in such confined spaces. Rabbit need masses of space!!
how much money do u spend in a week on them ??????
with 80 rabbits we spend about $40 per week.
ok thx I am wanting to start meat rabbits but not have as much if u ever visit Bemidji MN email me I would love to start rabbits thx again I would also like it if u could tell me how much it is to make a cage like that
what are some of the breeds u have??
Gavin Price hi, please have mercy to rabbits, they have heart they know how to love and be love , please , i am begging you , please don't kill rabbit

Not sure if this is possible. But can doe's have false pregnancy.
+Charles Houser Yes, it happens often.
Do you let them roam around yard or live in a cruel cage 24/7 my bunny roams the yard and house because its kitty litter trained
He lets them play every know and them. These are working rabbits not pets
they are food not pets

It doesn't matter whether the animals are pets or not they deserve better than this. This is factory farming and its sick.

Tiny cages
Paula mantle tiny brain
sorry but this is wrong, there is no room to move, why advertise such an awefull life?

They shouldn't be in cages with wired bottoms it can damage there feet! :(
Ashley Shannon they're food not friends, and the caging doesn't hurt *their* feet.
