- This is the official firmware upgrade tutorial for Neptune 4 Plus and Neptune 4 Max. Since the operating procedures for both machines are the same, we have combined them into one video. We hope this tutorial is helpful to you.

You understand this is ridiculous right? You understand that for a new product off the line at this stage in development, the Nuptune 4 needed an easily updated software process
This method has broken my printer and I have to go through a lot more tedious steps to fix it, be carefull if you have a working printer might as well not update the firmware at all.
@@archetypalMaker My printer is almost dead, i can't print anything without problems and my leveling page don't work anymore :/
@@mecamoto6327 That sucks, I spent almost a whole day fixing mine, makes me think maybe it's better to invest in a better 3D filament printer, it sucks cause I think Elegoo resin printers are pretty good, this one not so much :(.

This is probably a stupid question but what’s the fix pack? Iv just got the N4 pro as my first printer but it’s second hand everything seems to be working okay on it but the UI version on the hand held is 1.2.11 so I’m assuming I need to update that asap
if your printer is fully working DO NOT UPDATE read some comments ive had mine since jan thought id finally update it yesterday couldnt get past the loading screen... ill update you if i can get it working bud also the fix pack is the 1.2.2.65 on their site
Are the problems with the update fixed, since I see a lot of people frustrated that it broke their printer? And before I update it myself I want to prevent me being in the exact same situation.

I never got a microsd card, so I used one of my own extras for the screen update, but when I turn back on the machine it doesn't go into that update boot screen. It just starts the printer like normal. I was able to update the main firmware. I also have an N4 Pro, not Plus/Max.
I Did all you said but i still have the same problem. When my X-Axis go at the middle he gets like 50mm further and when the leveling start, i have the screen with the 121 points and the temperatures, but when he got the temperature the printer don't do anything and all i can do is to power off the machine. I Tried a print but at 20mm high the X-Axis moved and my part is in 2 Parts.

if this is what i have to deal with when i need to update my printer im finding another brand to go with because elegoo is ridiculous at this point

are we suppose to have a Micro SD card included with the printer? Don't have one?
I haven't checked mine yet,but they were in a package.I had one(red usb drive) with information on it(models ,etc) and a black one with sd card inside the usb drive.
I've done it exactly as shown, and it doesn't work. Still at 1.2.2.64
In a world of bambu this is utterly insane. I mean you have to physically take apart the screen the update it, this is bonkers. I absolutely have to have this max 4 working reliably for work and it was working well at 1.2 but all of a sudden it cant stay leveled...
I just got done updating and leveling for another hour and I've got to say this is absurd. $500 I doubt I can fix the way I'd like. The first print was amazing! It gave so much hope, then it just crapped out and here we are...wtf??
I have a bambu, the only reason I bought this, is bc bambu doesnt have a 420 by 420 mm large print volume
this is so confusing like i don't have and of the first like 5 steps for getting the fix pack

i got everything but the screen firmware to update. i do everything in the video but it never updates. plus my leveling page doesnt work, i cant manually level anymore.

@@alorik6627 I had this same issue and I fixed it by formatting my SD card to FAT before inserting it. I think the issue is that if you are not using the stock microsd card that came with your printer, the one you are using may be formatted in a way that the arduino on the screen cant read.

@@ElegooOfficial Thanks, I downloaded the files needed and I started with the fix since the version I had was very old, but now it's been rebooting for like 30 mins, I don't wanna turn it off since I'm not sure if that will cause issues or not. What is there to do in this case?
@@archetypalMaker We recommend reformatting the contents of the USB drive and re-uploading the repair package files. Then, verify the contents of the USB drive after uploading to ensure the successful completion of the process.

Hello. I'm facing the same issue. Even following the steps in this video, the firmware update does not progress. Were you able to fix it?

This printer is so new and has built in wifi, yet the people at elegoo are to lazy to make it auto update...
Ugh...glad I did not buy it.
It’s a little tedious but after you do it once, it’s not that bad. They should have made it so you can update it over wifi as both the 4Plus and 4Max have WiFi. Elegoo missed the ball on this as they did by using their own version of Klipper. Don’t know why they did this.
Must say so far I’m not very happy with this product. You really shouldn’t have to do this to a new device.
