Not sure about now, but certainly 10 years ago Chinese & Vietnamese "Tubeless" rims had tendency not to have the internal beads to stop the tyre wall from de-seating, the tyre might not have a puncture at all, it could simply have demounted because of the lack of internal beading.

That is an impressive vehicle for the price point. It is so much better than an electric motor bike for some circumstances. When I was in china 10 years ago there were motorbikes everywhere. The motorbikes were the small ones, some scooter style, most were 125cc or similar type small engine. People used them going to the store, work ect. Entire families at times could ride on them. Now china did have a decent mass transit system. However for a mother with a couple of kids or several bags of groceries in rainy weather, a car is such a better option. I personally remember taking out an electric motor bike for the day and found performance satisfactory. The electric motor bike kept up with basic traffic, was faster and easier than a bicycle, didn't result in getting sweaty and had about two hours of driving at 20 mph. Having a car, keeps you from getting wet, better encloses the occupants from dust dirt and hazards. Keeps better control of kids and animals, and has numerous other advantages. It is impressive that china is finally starting to design its own stuff and this price point has a potential to be areal game changer for many people who do not have a car.

I have in my possession, a Wheeltech Mercury M48 mobility scooter which is around 20 years old. Now that scooter is basically the same engineering as the Changli, just smaller. So what ever it can do, the Changli should be able to do at least as well, and probably better. I would not be surprised to find the Changli is still around in 20 years. The shiny bits may not be so shiny, and the paintwork may have faded a bit, but the vehicle will very likely be just as good.
Does the Changli use a brushless motor? - If it does, then all the better. Brushes are the bits that are likely to let you down worst of all.

If the vehicle is under a certain horsepower, or CC's, then it doesn't have to be registered as a vehicle, but can still travel the roads. They're treated like motorized bicycles.

The cheapest car, that can meet us safety standards is the byd dolphin. Atto 2 in western countries. The dolphin is the equivalent of $18,000 to $21,000 USD in China. No idea what they will cost in the USA because Trump put a 25% tariff on cars made in China.
