My husband has a desk like this one from his family. It has a writing pad on top that his dad put polyurethane over it. I showed my husband your finished product. I want to re-finish the desk and a chair he has. The chair has wooden roses on it.

Wonderful job. My uncle made a desk 45 years ago for my wife’s parents that is eerily similar to this one. After my mother in law passed we inherited it. It was in really good condition but very dirty. 40 plus years of tung oil accumulation needed to be addressed. After a good cleaning , a light sanding, a refresh of the stain and a couple coats of polyurethane it looks almost as good as yours. I did remake the long drawer over to a drop down front with a slide out tray for the computer keyboard because our old computer desk was falling apart. My wife came up with the idea and I was able to pull it off pretty well. Your talent exceeds mine and I truly enjoy watching your incredible restorations.

So love your commentary! Quote “Chair was wearing pyjamas but it’s not now”. After you recut and refitted the chair pad. I just burst out laughing and still laughing as I type. You are a brilliant restorer and my favourite of the few serious professionals online. I wish you lived in Australia as I have a lovely “partners desk” which I cherish and would love to have it restored. Anyway Trena, just wanted to say what a wonderful craftswoman you are.🤗🇦🇺

I have to say as a former manufacturing worker you are very productive! NOt only in putting out a great content video, but you are very productive in your shop. My generation was raised to work hard, live quietly, soberly, and love God. It has served me well. In Ecclesiastes, the preacher Solomon says that the joy of the work of one's hands is a gift of God. It seems you really love your gift. I think maybe your customers do as well. Cheers!

I gotta say in a day and age where chic and chalk paint is the norm, it's refreshing to see a piece be refinished to show off the wood and not painted over. Every style has it's place, but to see the wood grain pop like this is refreshing.

My dad had the same type of desk. He told me it was called a "secretary's desk" because it was very small both overall size and especially where your legs would go. He was 6' tall and it was really too small for his size but he loved the craftsmanship it was built with. His desk also had a "modesty" screen so if it was not up against a wall the user still had privacy when sitting down. Also it had carved claw feet.

Another Amazing job well done... What I find astonishing, once again, is your knowledge about wood and what will happen when you sand it and how it will take on stain, how you correct the color, and know the order of operations when you do this step...I can go on and on about how impressive that is; it is not very common to have this knowledge! (I'm a home DIY'er so nobody taught me and I never took classes) But I can tell you are a master... First and foremost you have tremendous skills as a woodworker, furniture repair, and all round craftsman, and then on top of that you also shoot and edit the video! Honestly I don't know how you do it! But I'm glad that you do and can share it with the rest of the world! Thank you so much.

Shopdog seems so happy. Is Shopdog a Labradoodle? As for the desk and chair, another beautiful job. The reddish color is very nice - it feels warm, if that makes sense. I have to admit, though, that I do love the natural color of wood over stains. The lighter colored wood furniture in my house make the rooms look bigger, light white walls and lots of light. Your videos are always great, I look forward to each one.
