    Is it a good idea to apply to both categorical and prelim pedia position at the same program? Thank you

      It is okay to apply to both. However, applying to only categorical - if that is your goal - may be preferable for those with both tracks.

    Let's say I worked in primary care for a year, then I get a short term job for a month in hospital setting, if after that I go back to work in primary care at the same place or a different place? Do I have 3 work experiences or it counts as 2?

      You can leave them as two. Clarify in the primary care experience details that you took a one month break during the dates listed in start and end dates.

    If we did tutoring for example but we didn’t do it under an organization. When it asks us who the supervisor was, what should we put?

    • @matcharesident

      You could put "Self Employed" or "Not Applicable" as examples

    Is it a good idea to add a short 1 month work experience?

      If it was a clinical experience, then yes. If it was irrelevant to medicine, you may not necessarily wish to add it.

    Under the "Experiences" section in ERAS Supplemental portion, what exactly are they looking for? For example, my boyfriend is the one working on completing this application and is stuck in this area. If he did one year in rotation at a hospital but he circulated different facilities, this is still considered "ONE" experience, correct? I'm looking at it from the standpoint of having the opportunity to highlight any area in his life that he feels highlights him as an individual, anything that may have contributed to this path of wanting to become a doctor. He was a lifeguard for over 10 years, would this be considered an experince? Some clarification on this would be sooooo helpful right now. Thank you.

      They are hoping to gain insight into what experiences had a lasting impact on applicants. The one rotation would be listed as just one Work Experience in the ERAS Application, but he could break up the experience into different rotations in the Supplemental Application. As far as discussing his experience as a lifeguard, this belongs in the "Other Impactful Experiences" section.

    For IMGs that did compulsory practical clinical internship (housemanship) after medical school, where are you expected to fill in that information?

    • @matcharesident
      @matcharesident  2 роки тому

    If we did tutoring but it didn't do it under an organization, what do you put under organization?

    • @matcharesident

      We recommend either "Self-employed" or "Non Applicable." =)
